I had to show him that I really loved him, and that I really wanted to be with him, so that, at least with me in mind, he wouldn't do anything to him again.

At least, not yet.

On the day of his discharge, I packed all his belongings and accompanied him home. It was late afternoon by then, and I was ready to leave as soon as I saw him off, but I didn't expect him to invite me to his house
