C2 Light bulb

Alfred drops Alice and Cammy at the school gate,told them to be good girls and tries to make them less nervous.

Alice accustomed to her dad behaviour nods,grabs their bags from the car .She looks ahead at the big school,sighs and walked ahead following in Cammy’s footsteps as her dad drives away.

As they were new students,introduction is a necessity and this is the part Alice hates the most but Cammy seem to be having the best time of her life so Alice mood was lifted a little.

‘Good morning students’

Mrs Camila walked in greeting the students.

‘Good morning ma’am’

They all echoed.

‘I trust you are having a great morning, we have 3 new students,let’s have a short introduction before we proceed with the morning lecture.’

Mrs camila looked at Cammy signifying she was to go first.

‘Hello everyone I’m Cammy Jones,17 years old,I love sports especially basketball and i run a YouTube channel where I post blogs and sports tips.’

‘. . .’

‘That’s pretty much it’

Cammy said feeling a little shy. Alice found that weird because usually Cammy would talk till the whole class groans and the teacher asks her sit. Alice just brushes it off as it was the first day in school it’s only normal.

It was Alice’s turn.

She stood up,walked to the front and faces the class.

‘I’m Alice Smith’

She walks back towards her seat.

‘Wait ‘

Mrs camila calls for her

‘No hobby?’

‘No’

‘Skill ?’

‘No’

‘Ah okay’

Mrs camila thinking she could be shy since it’s her first day at school decided not to make things difficult for her and signifies to the next person to stand up for his introduction.

As he stood up, the whole class exclaimed ,the girls gushing and giggling about how fine he is, the boys clearly green with envy murmuring among each other .

Jake walks towards the centre of the class slowly enjoying the attention as he heard the girls fawning over him his ego raises up a notch.He stood at the centre of the class looking all cool, tall and handsome.

Everyone became quite,it was as though the world has come to a stop.

‘Hi I’m jake Davis‘

His eerie cool voice spreads round the class

‘Oooooohhhhhhhhh boy sounds magical’

The girls went crazy fawning over how cool and magical jake sounded.

‘Quiet quiet’

Mrs camila asks for the class to be in order.

Jake clearly enjoying their reactions chuckles and proceeds

‘I’m 18…loves dancing ,football and basketball but if I were to pick a sport I enjoy the most it would be basketball’

Jake said as he glances at the corner of the class.

‘ watch me join the basketball team this term’

‘Omg omg I was asked to join the basketball team but I refused i’ma go beg the coach to accept me again’

‘Too bad I suck at sports T T’

‘Gosshhhh could he get any cooler!’

Jake’s introduction gathered a lot of fans for him,the basketball club would be getting tons of attention now.

At the midst of the ‘chaos’, Alice had her eye on one person,watching Cammy she could see her every action, just now when jake was talking how could she not notice that Cammy’s eyes seemed to have a glow it in just like when she talks about her previous crushes. Alice felt a headache coming up.

Seeing Cammy being interested in jake, Alice took a glance at him and just at that moment she saw him looking at Cammy as he said he prefers basketball,his gaze seductive while Cammy seemed to get the message and her face flushes a deep shade of red.

Alice hated jake immediately.

She figured she might have lost her chance without even trying.It just sucked the little good mood out of her.

Cammy sensing a dark aura behind her and look back at Alice she could almost see faint black lines on her forehead,shooked as to wat pissed Alice off to that extent Cammy blinked innocently making Alice heart flutter and lifted her mood immediately as she smiles towards Cammy.

The morning lecture soon began and the class quiteted down.

After the class, it was the break period. All the students went to the lunchroom to eat.

At the lunchroom,everyone gets served and sits together,each table could be seen as a group of people forming a clique,the popular rich girls,the popular rich boys,the average friends,the bullies and the victims of bullying and the loners.

Alice and Cammy being new students looked for a empty table to sit on.

‘Omg isn’t that jake’

‘Sjsjsjsksj he really is the one’

‘Ask him to come sit here ‘

‘Eyy how could I ,the seniors already have their eyes on him see them boot licking and fawning over him tsk tsk’

‘Tch’ Alice scoffs silently out of irritation,this jake person is literally every where, how could she not see the envy in Cammy’s eyes after those girls said the seniors have their eyes on jake, she really wish to tear off their mouths and feed their tongues to dogs for spewing nonsense.

‘Let’s sit here’ Alice tries to get Cammy mind off jake,she pulls out the chair for her and sat closely beside her.

‘He’s coming he’s coming OMGGG ‘

‘Looks like he’s coming here, look look so I have anything stuck between my teeth’

‘Is there anything on my face’

‘Yes’

‘What?! Wipe it off’

‘Ugliness’

‘Ugliness you father! Come here you rat , grandmother would teach you a lesson’

Jake walking deep into the lunchroom spiked a bit of murmurs as he had refused the seniors and is walking towards a direction.

Jake walks straight up to Cammy

‘may I seat here ‘

He says as he smiles dashingly looking straight up at Cammy ignoring Alice.

‘Cough cough cough ah’

Cammy chokes on her food clearly not expecting jake to talk to her.

Alice immediately with the speed of light taps Cammy’s back gently and hands her a cup of water .

‘Erm. . .yeah sure you can’

Cammy said after calming down,she looked calm on the surface but inside she was going crazy and dying to scream,it is unbelievable her one crush is eating on the same table as her.

‘Who is that’

‘I have no idea,why is jake siting with them’

The other girls begin to gossip clearly annoyed by the two .

Alice sits by the side like a light bulb as Jake engaged Cammy in conversations relating to basketball, Cammy being a basketball enthusiast was immediately piqued and talks smoothly with jake as though they had been friends before .

Alice watches Cammy quietly as she occasionally fills her glass with water completely ignoring jake.

Anyone could tell she is clearly the lightbulb here.

She wasn’t annoyed at jake for not giving her face but stealing part of the time she gets to talk and eat peacefully with Cammy.

‘It seems the days ahead would be a tough.’

Alice thought to herself as she eats.
