C21 Police Station Chaos

Ethan and his friends tried everything to explain, but without ID, the fat officer would not listen.

“Officer, we’re good people! We just left our IDs at home! Look, my pockets are empty—”

As Howard spoke, he pulled out a hidden flying dagger.

The officer jumped back, gun drawn. “FREEZE!”

Ethan sighed. This was impossible to explain.

“Dispatch, this is Unit 8367. Suspects with weapons, requesting backup.”

There was no choice. They had to go to the police station.

Inside the station, Ethan, Howard, and Han Tao were separated and interrogated.

Ethan couldn’t help but laugh. Why was he always ending up in hospitals and police stations? Even the station was the same one he’d visited many times before.

“Name.”

“Ethan.”

“Gender.”

“Male.”

Ethan rolled his eyes. Could the idiot not see?

“Occupation.”

“CEO of DreamBrand.”

The young cop laughed. “Nice joke. I’m Li Ka-shing. Everyone knows the real Ethan moved abroad. Married a Japanese woman. Don’t pretend. Your friends already confessed.”

“What?!” Ethan was stunned. “When did I leave the country? When did I marry a Japanese woman? You know more than I do! Where’s the chief? I want to see her. Where’s Dana? Tell her I’m here!”

The cop’s face turned hard. “How dare you use our chief’s name! Chief Dana was just promoted this year!”

“Dana is chief now? Hurry and get her! Or I’ll complain to Mayor Ma!”

“Mayor Ma? There is no Mayor Ma!” The cop grinned, thinking he’d caught Ethan lying.

Ethan’s heart sank. The world had truly changed.

Then the cop’s face went pale.

“Wait… you really are Ethan… aren’t you? Ma Zhi is now the Party Secretary. I’ll get Chief Dana.”

Ethan smiled. “You’re not completely stupid.”

A moment later, a familiar figure walked in.

Dana.

She was more beautiful, more mature. The police uniform suited her perfectly. Ethan’s chest tightened. He’d missed her more than he knew.

They stared at each other in silence.

“The rain whispers to the banana tree, tangled in all my thoughts.

When I heard your footsteps… I thought of the person I’ve waited for a thousand years.”

Ethan spoke softly.

Dana’s eyes filled with tears. She threw herself into his arms.

“Where have you been?! I thought you were dead!”

She forgot she was chief. She was just a woman who’d missed her man.

“I’m right here. I almost died, but I came back to see you.”

Dana blushed and pulled away. “After you collapsed in the hospital, I thought you were gone. I even got suspended for defending you!”

Ethan’s heart soared. “You never forgot me.”

“Shut up. You show up dressed like a beggar, carrying knives, and expect me to be happy?” Dana tried to look stern, but she was smiling.

“Release my two friends. We lost our IDs. Your officers were just doing their jobs.”

“Who was the one interrogating you?”

“Sun Jun. Fresh out of the academy.”

Ethan laughed. “Tell him he’s a great cop. Without him, I wouldn’t have found you.”

Dana blushed. “Flatterer. I’ll let them go. Now go change. You’re embarrassing me.”

“Embarrassing? So you admit I’m yours?” Ethan grinned.

Just as Dana ordered the release, two men walked in:

Secretary Ma Zhi, and a tall, muscular stranger.

The city police chief, Ding, was with them.

Chief Ding immediately spoke to Dana. “Hand over Zhang Hua. I’m taking over the case.”

Dana was shocked. “But you assigned this to us yesterday! We’ve invested everything!”

Ethan stepped forward, smiling. “Secretary Ma, Chief Ding. Don’t you recognize me? I’m Ethan. You’ve both climbed high.”

The muscular stranger’s body tensed. A faint but deadly killing intent leaked out.

Ethan’s eyes turned cold.

Ma Zhi laughed awkwardly. “Ethan! Long time no see! Where have you been?”

Dana had no choice but to order Zhang Hua brought out.

Ethan held out his hand to the stranger. “I’m Ethan. And you are?”

The stranger hesitated, then shook his hand.

In that instant, Ethan kneed him hard in the groin.

The stranger doubled over. Ethan kicked him in the head.

The man flew into a desk and collapsed, unconscious.

Dana paled. “Ethan! What are you doing?!”

But Secretary Ma and Chief Ding exhaled in relief, smiling.

Chief Ding shouted: “Arrest him! He’s strapped with explosives! Get a bomb squad!”

Dana stared in shock.

Chief Ding explained breathlessly: “That man broke into my office and took Secretary Ma and me hostage. He demanded we release Zhang Hua, or he’d blow up the station.”

Ethan had sensed the killing intent and the rigid shape of explosives under his clothes.

He’d acted on instinct.

Secretary Ma grabbed Ethan’s hands. “You saved our lives! How did you know?”

Ethan shrugged. “I didn’t. I just didn’t like his face.”

Ma and Ding froze, then laughed nervously.

Howard and Han Tao were released.

Sun Jun apologized awkwardly. “I had no idea you were Ethan… the real one.”

Ethan clapped him on the shoulder. “You did good. Be a good cop.”

Sun Jun drove them back to Ethan’s villa.

At the villa, Howard and Han Tao immediately jumped into the sauna.

“Boss! Call some masseuses!”

Ethan sighed and dialed a service.

He took a long, hot shower. For the first time in years, he felt home.

But when he walked out, he froze.

The house was a mess. Empty bottles, clothes everywhere. Two women stood there, demanding payment.

“5,000 each.”

Ethan’s head hurt. “Clean the house first. Then you get 10,000.”

The women protested. “We don’t clean! We’re here for fun!”

Ethan’s voice turned icy. “Clean it, or you get nothing. This job isn’t legal. Sue me if you dare.”

The women glared, but cleaned silently.

Ethan tossed them the money with a faint burst of inner energy. The money slipped out of their hands. They stumbled backward.

He laughed as they fled.

In this world, everyone had a price.

The next morning, Howard and Han Tao stumbled out, exhausted but grinning.

They’d finally felt like real men again after the female-ruled world.

But Ethan saw a faint sadness behind their smiles.

He gave them cash. “Go enjoy yourselves. I have a meeting at city hall. Tonight, I’m taking Dana to dinner.”

They cheered and left.

Ethan changed into clean clothes, cut his hair, and drove to the government building.

A strange, uneasy feeling weighed on him.

Like walking into a new storm.

He entered Secretary Ma’s office.

Ma was talking with a thin, familiar old man.

Ethan’s eyes lit up.

“Dragon Five!”

His old trainer. The man who’d made him a Dragon Warrior.

Ma smiled. “We’ve been waiting for you.”

Ethan’s happy smile faded.

The uneasy feeling grew stronger.

Whatever was coming… it was big.
