C3 Show Me Some Colors
Ruan Qingge was born into a family of doctors. Despite being a girl, she was recognized as a medical prodigy, joining a top-secret research institute in her early twenties. Later, she volunteered to serve with the special forces.
Her mind was always full of wild ideas, constantly seeking to achieve something extraordinary. Unfortunately, her daring nature led to her heroic death in a frontline explosion.
Fate, however, had other plans. She found herself in another world, inhabiting the body of the Anyang County Princess in the North Peace Marquis Mansion. Although the title sounded prestigious, the princess's life was far from it. Her mother, a princess, passed away early, and her father, the marquis, favored a concubine named Mrs. Sunn. Though he couldn't officially elevate Mrs. Sunn's status, she wielded significant power, tormenting the original princess and turning her into a simple-minded fool.
The original princess met her end by drowning in the Picking Lotus Lake, orchestrated by her half-sister, Ruan Yueer, Mrs. Sunn's daughter.
Ruan Qingge brushed off the dirt and grass, stood up, and gazed at her reflection in the calm lake. She was taken aback.
The water reflected a face with an oval shape, fair and delicate skin with a hint of blush, elegantly arched eyebrows, bright eyes, and rosy lips. Who was this beauty?
The Anyang County Princess was known throughout the capital as a plain and foolish girl, yet she possessed such striking features?
Ruan Qingge was taken aback; this didn't match her memories. After thinking it over, she understood the gist of it. It turned out that Mrs. Sunn and Ruan Yueer were jealous of her original beauty and had mixed something into her makeup. Once applied, her skin turned yellow and rough, completely hiding her natural beauty. Unfortunately, the original owner of this body was too mentally affected to resist their schemes.
After falling into the water, the makeup washed off, revealing her true appearance. That man earlier—was he not only poisoned but also captivated by her looks?
Ruan Qingge found herself with a face far more striking than in her past life, feeling quite pleased. She mused over the coincidence of sharing the same name and body in both lives, seeing it as a destined twist of fate. She resolved to cherish this second chance, living life to the fullest on behalf of the original owner.
"Sister, sister!"
Suddenly, a cluster of lanterns appeared on the path behind her, lighting up the night at Picking Lotus Lake as if it were daytime. The brightness startled Ruan Qingge back to reality, and she shielded her eyes with her sleeve. She saw a group of people rushing toward her, with several guards jumping into the lake, seemingly to rescue the original owner.
Instinctively, Ruan Qingge crouched down, her eyes darting around. She grabbed a handful of wet mud and smeared it on her face.
"Oh my, the Princess of Anyang is here!"
A sharp-eyed woman spotted Ruan Qingge by the lake and shouted out.
Dressed in a soft, lake-green silk robe with a colorful sash at her waist, a young girl moved gracefully. Her almond-shaped eyes welled with tears as she twisted a handkerchief and approached, "Sister, you scared me to death! If anything happened to you, how would I explain it to Father?"
Ruan Qingge looked up to see none other than her pretentious half-sister, Ruan Yueer.
Ruan Yueer noticed Ruan Qingge crouched by the lake, her hairpins scattered, her black hair a tangled mess atop her head, and her face comically smeared with mud. Her apricot-colored dress was soaked, the hem tattered and clinging to her, making her look as disheveled and ridiculous as a beggar.
"What happened to you, sister?"
Ruan Yueer's eyes showed disdain as she clenched her handkerchief, scoffing inwardly. She had expected Ruan Qingge, who couldn't swim, to have drowned by now. She had timed it perfectly, assuming Ruan Qingge would have sunk to the bottom of the lake, and only then did she feign urgency to report to the Empress. Who would have thought Ruan Qingge would still be here, safe and sound?
If Ruan Qingge told the Empress that she had pushed her into the water, wouldn't she be shooting herself in the foot?
Ruan Yueer's changing expression was fully captured by Ruan Qingge, who felt disdain and a sense of injustice for the original owner. She resolved to give this murderer a taste of her own medicine. However, before she could speak, Ruan Yueer's eyes shifted, catching sight of a piece of clothing on the grass. Her face turned pale, and with a startled cry, she stumbled backward.
