Nick went to the laundry room to hang dry his wet clothes. Along the way, he thought about warming a glass of milk for Kate. Then walked back to Kate's room.

"She didn't say yes, but she didn't say no," Nick murmured his thoughts as he waited for the microwave timer to finish. "Maybe she's just too upset to say anything."
