C3 Raised by a pack of wolves!

Amy

What the hell just happened? I just accepted to spend my day with Jace, that's it. What about the book I have to edit on my computer? I will surely need a lot of catching up to do after this. I can't just turn him down after showing up at my apartment early in the morning. I have to loosen up. I can't just keep myself locked up in this apartment with my thoughts running wild about dimpled cheeks when I can spend the day watching them. I don't want to live in hiding anymore.

"I thought you wouldn't come out of there," Jace says as I meet him where I left him out of the apartment.

"What did you think I was doing?" I ask out of mere curiosity.

"Having second thoughts," he replies.

"That crossed my mind," I tell him.

"But you still came?"

"Yes, for some strange reason I like your company," I tell him and he chuckles lightly. We begin walking across the street.

"Where do you want to go?" he asks.

"Where were you planning on taking me?" I ask.

"I could take you to lots of places," he says.

"Such as..." I press.

"The woods," he replies with a smirk.

"I thought they were out of bounds," I reply with an equal smirk.

"Are you smirking at me?" he asks while cocking his head to one side.

"I hope so," I reply

"I thought I am the one who does that," he smiles.

"Who said you could and I couldn't?" I say.

"Are we going to stand here all day and give each other comebacks or what?" he inquires. I just smile.

The morning air is refreshing. It isn't that early though. The small town looks busy and everyone is going about their own businesses. I can't help but admire the beauty of the town. I have been in the town for over a month but walking around it with Jace by my side is a thousand times better.

Jace being Jace, he keeps giving the strangest descriptions of places making me smile the whole time and my cheeks hurt. He seems very farmiliar with this place.

"How long have you lived here?" I can't help but ask.

"Since I was born," he replies.

"No doubt you are very farmiliar with this place," I say.

"Unlike you who was walking herself into the woods," he says with a raised eyebrow. I swat his arm.

"Will you give that up. What's with you and those woods?" I ask.

"We're you never warned about dangerous creatures that lives in woods?"

"What kind of creatures could possibly live near this town?"

"A lot," he replies.

"You mean like wolves and hyenas?" I ask with a laugh.

"Yes, but hyenas excluded. I haven't seen any around this place," he replies with a serious tone that makes me want to roll my eyes.

"Wolves? Like normal wolves or werewolves? Which ones have you seen?"

"Both," he says.

"You've ever seen a werewolf. Like those from the novels and TV?" I ask.

"Yes but more realistic," he replies.

"Oh, maybe I should be more careful this time," I say sarcastically.

"You have no regard for your personal safety, " he says as he shakes his head.

"So you mean I could have been eaten by a wolf or something," I say.

"Yes," he replies.

"Are they that dangerous?" I ask.

"Some yes," he says. "Others are good wolves."

"How do you know that?" I ask.

"I was raised by a park of wolves," he says with a grin.

"Like for real?"

"Yes," his face is serious. Jace jokes a lot and it's very confusing for me to know whether he is serious or not. This whole wolf thing is giving me chills. How can a human being be raised by a park of wolves?

"You are overthinking the situation," Jace breaks through my reverie.

"No I am not," I lie.

"Your nose has become longer," he says with a dimpled smile. I am tempted to look at my nose which is ofcourse the normal size.

"Pinocchio?" I raise a brow at him.

"Hey, I also read some books," he says.

"I can see that," I say.

"Do you want to have some late breakfast?" he asks. "I know a great place."

"Sure," I reply.

The restaurant was a nice place and the food was amazing. I have to note it down so that I can come here more often.

"I had a nice time," I tell Jace as we walk back to the apartment.

"Me too," he replies.

"We should go back another time. it will be my treat this time," I tell him in hopes of getting to spend with him some time after today.

"Sure," he says. I almost jump about out of excitement but I manage to keep my cool.

"Okay," I say with a smile.

"Do you want to go home now," he asks. Oh, no. I thought we were going to spend the whole day together.

"It's still early," I say.

"It is. Where do you want to go?" he asks.

"Anywhere," I say. A smile covers his face and his dimples show. I hope I didn't sound too desperate.

"Anywhere, Amy? Are you sure?" I can imagine different locations running in his mind.

"Show me where you live," I say.

"Are you sure? I told you I was raised by a pack of wolves," he says.

"Wolves or people, I don't care," I say with a shrug.

"Okay, it's your funeral," he chuckles.

"I don't they will be as savage as you make them sound," I tell him.

"I never said they were savages," he says.

"That is the picture you gave me," I tell him.

"I am not to blame for what pictures your mind makes out of situations," he says flatly.

"Do you really have to call your family a pack of wolves?" I ask.

"That is what they are," his tone is serious. I just roll my eyes at his seriousness.
