Aliyu held the doctor's collar

"I thought I told you not to let her die"

"Sir it's not our fault, may be if you had come earlier we would have been able to save her, Pneumonia attack can be very deadly." The doctor explained.

"So? how does that affect me?

All that matters is for her to be alive and you were the cause of her death, you should have done everything you could to save her" Aliyu said.

The doctor was already getting pissed off, how will he bring her late, I mean she was already dead when he brought her here and now he is blaming the Doctors.

"Sir, I'm sorry to say but it wasn't our fault, it was yours instead.

Had it been you brought her here earlier she would have been alive now, or if your wife didn't risk her life by soaking herself in water this wouldn't have happened, from all indications she stayed in water for long and she's a pneumonia patient. Let me be honest with you, when you brought her here she was already dead.

So suit yourself, you can take her Corpse when you are ready." With that the doctor walked away, he really didn't want to talk back at Aliyu but Aliyu passed his limits.

Aliyu followed him to his office,he knew he had to calm downat this pointin order to find way out

"Doctor I didn't mean it that way, I was upset and confused that was why I acted out of line."

"It's okay, Please be controlling your temper. So as I was telling you it was her pneumonia attack. You just have to sign some papers before we give you the corpse"

The doctor was explaining when Aliyu's phone rang, he checked the caller ID and "boom!"

It was his mom's sister "Aunty Jiddarh" as they call her.

You know, among your aunties there's a particular one that her work is to be taking gossips of you to your mom and be causing rifts, that is aunty Jiddarh's attitude.

Aliyu didn't want to pick the call at first, but she kept calling and he had to pick the phone call.

"Good morning aunty" Aliyu greeted her so that it won't turn to something else.

"How are you doing?"

"I am fine"

"I'm at your house and the gateman said you went out,I came to see my daughter in-law.

"Doom" Aliyu's heart began to sing different types of songs.

What will he tell this woman, that the woman he got married to two days ago is dead, and that he was the reason behind her death?

"What....wahh..what did you say?"Aliyu began to stammer.

"I'm at your house right now, I can wait for you guys if you won't take long"

"If I should tell her the current situation i'm going to be in trouble, she's suppose to support me but no, she will cause more issues for me." Aliyu thought to himself.

"Aunty, you shouldn't have bothered coming, we went to the hospital and from all indications we are going to take long because there are lot of patients but I will personally bring her to your house I promise."

"What! you guys just got married recently, it's not been a week and you are out already?".

"We didn't have the intention of going out but, Indo wokeup feeling feverish today and I guess it's because she's been stressed out"

"Okay, may Allah grant her quick recovery" She answered suspiciously.

Aliyu answered with "Ameen" and cut the phone call because he knew, if they would continue talking. She's going to figure out something's wrong.

I continued talking to the the Doctor when a nurse came in panting.

"Doctor, that patient indo Abubakar isn't dead because the Implantable Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) just started working.

The doctor rose up and rushed to the room and the nurse followed.

2 HOURS LATER

Aliyu was outside the ICU when the doctor came out, removing his face mask, gloves and bouffant surgical cap.

He breathed out

"She wasn't dead, her pulse stopped but then I don't know how things took a change,it was hard though and it was a miracle. She is alive, we were very lucky because when you brought her here she was already dead, so we tought.

Right now she's sleeping,we injected her because she needs to rest." The doctor explained.

"Okay, thank you very much sir." Who would have thought this arrogant man knew how to say thank you.

"You're welcome "

"But when will she be discharged?"

"That is what I don't know for now, she just wokeup and she needs special care in the hospital"

"I think that is not necessary, I can take some nurses that will take care of her at home"

"When she wakes up and I see her health status, I will decide whether you should take her home or not"

"Okay but can I see her now?"

"Sure,but I don't think she's awake,so I think you should wait for her and her room have been changed,the nurses will show you to the room"

"Thank you very much Dr."

He entered the room and met her sleeping he just eyed her and in his mind he said "Foolish girl"

5 hours later, Indo wokeup and that was the same time the nurse entered to check on her, at that time Aliyu have gone home.

"Aliyu please save me I will forever be obedient" She was very scared and kept on shouting .

The nurse ran to the doctor and they came in together immediately,he got her injected so she could rest.

After one hour, she woke up again and at that time Aliyu was back.

He saw her struggling to sit up but he didn't even spare her a glance, talkmore of helping her to sit.

She was expecting him to say something like" how are you feeling? Where do you feel pain? I'm sorry for what happened yesterday" but none of that came, instead she heard.

"You want to cause problem between me and my mom huh? what do you think would have happened if you didn't wakeup?"

"My mom will have disowned me. Just because you are pneumatic wouldn't stop anything, instead it will make things worst for you, I promise to make my house a living nightmare for you" With that he left the room.

She couldn't say anything but cry, if not for her parents decision she wouldn't be in this hospital bed by now, she would have been at home reading her book or helping her mom to cook.

But she believed this is her own type of destiny, she believe this is what Allah have chosen for her, and she knew he's the only one that can rescue her, she also believes better days are coming inshaAllah.
