C17 Giving Birth
Time flies, and before they knew it, Wei Tiantian and Ning Chenfeng were celebrating their second wedding anniversary. Their marriage was blissfully happy, making everyone around them envious. They lived like a couple straight out of a fairy tale, enjoying their idyllic life together.
One morning, Tiantian woke up feeling a bit off. She was worried she might be seriously ill but didn't want to alarm Chenfeng, so she kept her discomfort to herself.
"Tiantian, come have breakfast. Look what I got for you today!" Chenfeng said excitedly. "I went out early to get your favorite breakfast treat—some fresh donuts. I know they're not the healthiest, so I don't get them often. But it's been a while, and I thought you'd enjoy them. Just don't eat too many, okay?"
"Chenfeng, you're so good to me," Tiantian replied, holding his hand with a smile. "You don't have to spoil me like this. I know donuts aren't the best for me, and you've always been right to limit them. But I have missed them, so thank you for thinking of me. These past two years of marriage have been wonderful. You've been so understanding and kind, and everyone can see how much we love each other. I'm truly happy and grateful for the life we share. Marrying you is the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"Tiantian, why the sudden sentimental talk? Honestly, I married you to make you happy. If I brought you into my life and treated you poorly, then I shouldn't have married you at all. It's only right that I treat you well—it's my responsibility. Besides, you're my wife. Who else would I treat well if not you? Stop saying silly things and eat up; the fried dough sticks won't taste good once they're cold. Eat them while they're hot." Ning Chenfeng handed a fried dough stick to Wei Tiantian.
For some reason, just as Tiantian was about to take a bite, she suddenly felt nauseous. The smell of the fried dough stick was overwhelming, so she placed it back on the table.
"Tiantian, what's wrong? You suddenly look unwell. You usually love these fried dough sticks. Why do they make you feel sick now? What's going on? Tell me if you're feeling unwell. Please, don't make me worry," Ning Chenfeng asked anxiously, holding her hand.
"Chenfeng, don't worry. Let me explain slowly. I don't know what's going on, but the smell of fried dough sticks makes me feel really nauseous. I just can't stand it anymore. If I smell it again, I'm sure I'll feel the same way. So please, keep them away from me. The moment I catch a whiff, I feel incredibly sick and disgusted," Tiantian said, frowning.
"Tiantian, besides feeling nauseous from the smell, do you have any other symptoms? You don't look well at all, and I'm concerned there might be more to it. Please tell me if there's anything else bothering you. Don't hide anything from me," Chenfeng asked anxiously.
"Chenfeng, how could I hide anything from you? Really, it's just the nausea from the smell of fried dough sticks. There's nothing else, so don't worry. Maybe I just don't have much of an appetite today. Let's eat, don't worry. Come on, sit down and have some food," Tiantian said, pulling Chenfeng to the table.
