C10 Chapter 10 – Power Hungry

As Alpha Troy, Andrew, and Mara stood there, grappling with the complexities of their emotions and the future that lay ahead, they knew that the path they would choose had to be one that respected the desires of all parties involved. It was a moment of reflection, where the strength of their character and their commitment to the pack would be tested, ultimately shaping the destiny of their intertwined lives.

Andrew's gaze hardened as he locked eyes with his father, determination etched on his face. He took a deep breath and spoke with unwavering conviction.

"Father, I have made up my mind. I want to marry Mara, regardless of the challenges we may face. Her kindness, her compassion, and the connection we share have convinced me that she is the perfect Luna for our pack. I believe in her, and I believe in us."

Alpha Troy, recognizing the unwavering resolve in his son's voice, nodded solemnly. He understood the weight of Andrew's decision and the significance it held for their pack's future. "Very well, Andrew. Your wishes will be honored. We will proceed with the arrangements for the wedding."

Mara stood there, stunned and speechless, her emotions in a whirlwind. She had never anticipated that her life would take such an unexpected turn. As the reality of the situation sank in, worry and anxiety crept into her heart. She feared the repercussions of her decision, the potential backlash from Carla, her sisters, and even the entire pack.

Andrew, sensing Mara's fear and hesitation, stepped closer to her, his voice filled with empathy and reassurance.

"Mara, I understand your concerns and the pressure you're feeling. But you don't have to face this alone. I want you to know that I'm here for you, and so is my family. You're not just marrying me; you're becoming a part of our pack, and we take care of our own."

He reached out and gently took her trembling hand in his, his touch offering a sense of comfort and security.

"I know it won't be easy, and there will be challenges along the way. But we'll face them together, Mara. My father and I will ensure your safety and well-being. You won't have to worry about Carla, Elizabeth, or anyone else hurting you. We will protect you."

Mara's eyes welled up with tears, a mix of gratitude and vulnerability. She had never experienced such support and genuine concern before.

Alpha Troy picked up his phone and dialed Luis's number, urging him to come to the mansion immediately. Within minutes, Luis arrived, his face displaying a mix of confusion and surprise as he saw Mara standing there.

"What's going on?" Luis asked, his voice filled with concern.

Troy approached Luis, his expression serious yet compassionate. "Luis, I called you here to inform you that Mara and Andrew will be getting married soon. It has been decided, and we believe it is in Mara's best interest."

Luis's eyes widened, and he glanced at Mara, who stood there, her discomfort evident. He walked over to her, his voice gentle and understanding.

"Mara, I know this might be overwhelming for you, but trust me when I say that this is the best decision for you. Alpha Troy and Andrew will ensure your safety and protect you from any harm. You are now under their unwavering protection."

Mara's voice trembled as she spoke, fear lacing her words. "But father, I'm scared of Mom, Elvie, Jasmine, and Carla. I fear they will hurt me."

Luis placed a reassuring hand on Mara's shoulder, looking into her eyes with a reassuring gaze. "Mara, you have to understand that now, as a part of Alpha Troy's pack and with Andrew by your side, no one can harm you. They have the authority and power to keep you safe. You don't have to fear anymore."

Mara's fear began to subside slightly as she absorbed Luis's words. She realized that with Alpha Troy and Andrew's support, her stepfather's assurance, and the entire pack behind her, she might have a chance to face the challenges that lay ahead.

Troy and Luis exchanged a meaningful glance, silently acknowledging the difficult path they were embarking on. They were aware of the opposition that awaited Mara, but they were resolute in their commitment to protect her.

In that moment, Mara felt a glimmer of hope. Though the road ahead would be arduous, she would no longer face it alone. With the protection of Alpha Troy, the unwavering support of Andrew, and now her stepfather's assurance, she found the strength to confront her fears.

Drawing a deep breath, Mara mustered her courage. She understood that there would be obstacles to overcome, but she was determined to face them head-on. With the support of her newfound protectors, she would prove that no matter the challenges, love and unity could prevail.

Elizabeth paced anxiously in her home, her mind filled with questions about why Luis had rushed off to the Alpha's house. She couldn't shake off the feeling that something significant had transpired. Just as her worry escalated, her phone rang, and it was one of her friends who worked in the Alpha's mansion.

With a mix of curiosity and apprehension, Elizabeth answered the call. Her friend's voice trembled slightly as she relayed the news she had overheard.

"Elizabeth, you won't believe what I just heard at the mansion. Alpha Troy has made the final decision about the wedding between Andrew and Mara. It's happening soon!"

Elizabeth's eyes widened, and a surge of anger coursed through her veins. How could this be? She had envisioned a different future for her daughters, Elvie and Jasmine, and now their chances at becoming the future Luna were slipping away.

Determined to confront Mara and uncover the truth, Elizabeth stormed toward her stepdaughter's room, her emotions escalating with each step. Upon reaching the room, she discovered Elvie and Jasmine standing there, their faces filled with worry.

"Where is Mara?" Elizabeth demanded, her voice laced with fury.
