Adalwolf

I was on all fours . I could feel blood trickling down from my wounded ear to my fur . I can't give up I have to fight . I looked at him . His bland grey fur was matted with blood . I knew I already wounded him . I must go straight for his jugular vein . That will be the end . I was about to strike when I felt her presence . I turned and saw her . Everything else melted away . Her fur was beige in color .A bit of sandy but rich brown and her scent drove me mad. She was beautiful and she was mine . She growled at me . I knew the meaning even though I should not .

' Do not hurt him . '

I was still thinking about this when I saw him coming towards her . His mouth opened and his teeth ready to tear her apart .

I snarled and lunged for his throat .

I woke up suddenly . The same nightmare again . I groaned and tried to stand up from my bed but I was too tired to move .My parents have taken me to see almost all the therapists in Aspen but they still could not find out what was wrong causing the nightmares . I was tired of it too but I could not do anything about it so I just accepted it as it came . The shock wore off and I headed to the bathroom . I needed to get ready for school . It was first day of senior year and I was not exactly looking forward to it . I was looking forward to the basketball drills though . I was hoping to be captain by the end of this week . I looked to the mirror . I had unusual eyes . All my friends said it . A very light green with dark brown surrounding it's orbs . Seeing as my dad had grey eyes and my mum brown eyes I did not get it from them .

I pushed these thoughts away and I washed my face . I took a quick shower and dressed in jeans and any shirt I could easily find . I never made a fuss about first day in school . Not that I didn't like school but I just don't think it is necessary . I ran a comb through my black hair and carried my bag pack .

As I came out of the room, I met my mum in front of my room . Her hand hanging . She was about to knock .

' Good morning mum . ' I said grinning .

' Good morning Adolph . You are up in time . Surprising . ' she replied and gave me a peck on my cheek .

' I'm off to work . Your father already left . I made some toast and tea . It's on the kitchen table . Go to school in time and I love you . ' she rambled on as she searched her bag for her car keys .

' It's on the living room shelf mom . ' I said to her .

' You are a life saver . Thank you baby and Bye . ' she replied and left for the living room .

This was a normal thing for us every morning and I was used to it .

I went into the kitchen to eat the breakfast she left for me . My parents were the ones in the category of Very rich but no time for their only child . The weird thing was that a part of me was not bothered .

I grabbed the plate of toast and brought out a bottle of orange juice from the fridge . I did not have time to eat at home so I was going to eat on my way to pick up my female cousin and best friend, Nyla . She was my mum's elder brother's daughter . We have been together since we were very little so we were very close . I grabbed my car keys from the living room shelf and enables the alarm system . Then I locked the door and went into the garage . I drive an Hyundai Elantra . It was not my ideal car but I loved it anyways . I got in, started the car and headed towards Nyla's house with a piece of toast in my mouth .

Unfortunately, I got stuck in traffic for about half an hour . My phone rang and I saw Nyla's name . She was probably calling to ask where I was . I picked it up and put it on loud speaker .

' Adolph! Where are you we are going to be late on the first day of school ' she shouted .

' So no good morning greetings . ' I replied calmly .

' I am not joking . Get here now or I will kick your ass . ' she shouted again .

' Calm down . I am on my way just stuck in traffic . ' I replied as I took a turn leading to her house .

' I can see your car down the street . ' she said are voice calm .

' How can you see that ? it's still far away . You and your super senses . ' I joked .

' Shut up and get here fast . ' she replied and hung up .

I got to her house in less than a minute . She was dressed in a brown short skirt, strappy white small top and high heeled boots with a jacket across her arm .

' Okay . You are really taking this first day personal . ' I said to her as she entered the car and strapped her seat belt on .

' What can I say ? This is what I do . ' she replied smiling . I gave her a look and turned the car around . Then we headed for school .

Nyla's house was close to school but she still enjoyed me picking her up . She was telling about how hot guys were going to resume today and she was going to catch the eyes of several of them . Her voice faded away as we entered the school . Tons of freshers and girls in skimpy skirts that wind could raise . My eyes were everywhere .

' Adolphhhhh ! ' Nyla screamed and I turned to her holding my ears .

' Have you been listening to me at all ? ' she asked her face stern . Oh oh . I was about to reply when she cut me off .

' Never mind . I know you have not . Before we go in, have you taken your insulin injection ? '

I had Diabetes type one so I needed insulin to be able to function everyday . Nyla administered it for me almost every time.

' No I have not . It's in the car safe in front of you . ' I replied suddenly calm . I hated that injection . Anytime I took it, it feels as if my insides are boiling .

She brought out the injection . Then I raised my shirt up and turned my hand to her . She cleaned the spot with cotton wool and alcohol and pushed the needle into my vein . I closed my eyes but I knew when she pushed the liquid into my body . I immediately felt weak and I dropped to the car seat . She was done in a minute . When I opened my eyes, she was looking at me with sympathy .

' I'm fine . ' I said in a low voice . She nodded her head and got out of the car immediately . She didn't like the smell of the injection so I didn't expect her to wait .

I sat in the car for about five minutes to gather my strength before I got out .

I locked my car and went into the school building .

My friends were already waiting for me at our normal spot .

' Looks like you missed first period . ' Ian snickered .

' Today is not exactly going well for me . ' I replied as we bumped fists .

' Well, there is something called second period . ' Tedrey put in and gave me a hug . I was not surprised . He's gay .

' Let's get to class then . ' I replied and we all walked to class for the second period of the day . The worst class to be in . History .

Nyla was already sitting in the front seat . She gave me a small wave as I passed beside her .

I sat in front of Ian who occupied the last seat . A girl I didn't know sat at my left and the seat in front of me was empty .

' Okay . The class is a bit full this year . May I ask that you all turn off your phones as we start the class ? ' the teacher started and everyone murmured . I brought out my phone from my pocket and switched it off .

Everyone was still murmuring when she entered the class . The scent felt familiar and when I looked up and saw her I felt as if I have seen her somewhere before but I could not remember .

' Okay everyone . This is a new student who just moved from Alaska . Would you like to introduce yourself ? ' the teacher asked turning to her .

' I'm Nymeria Adonis . Please call me Nym . ' she said while her eyes went round the class .

' Great . Please find a comfortable seat . ' the teacher said to her then turned back to the class .

She was coming towards the seat in front of me . Then our eyes met . Something weird happened and she opened her mouth in shock . She recovered quickly and sat in front of me . Her scent intrigued me . I tried to concentrate on what the teacher was saying but I failed .

This year did not look promising for me .
