C5 Five

Nymeria

They were hunting me . Five of them . Chasing after me . I was fast but they were faster . They caught up with me and one of them used his claws to slash my flank . I groaned in pain and rolled down the snow . Then they surrounded me . They all had glowing eyes . Unnatural ones . They were our kind but a different one . I closed my eyes and called to him one last time . But I didn't need to because he was already here . I felt warm gushes of blood spurted across my chest and on my neck about half a second before I saw one of their canine heads roll in front of me . He clawed out the throat of another like he did that in his leisure time . He was so tall . Taller than the others . The remaining three ran away with their tails in between their legs . Then I was up . He stared at me . His eyes an unusual color . His stare was so intense it was like a touch .

His face came closer and he touched his temple to mine . He nuzzled my face . Then he growled to the heavens . I understood what he said perfectly . Mine .

I woke up with a start . The dream was different this time . Probably because I have met him . The one I have been dreaming about since I was ten . Though his hair color was different from his fur color . In my dreams, his fur was always Red . We called them the Canis Rufus . They were very rare. His hair is just a plain black in human form . I was confused about a lot of things . He didn't have our scent or strength and he should have claimed me immediately our eyes met . But he knew Nyla and this was surprising . Nyla was formerly a member of my pack . The Dark Shadows . Her father is a powerful witch while her mother was wolf . They left when she was very little .

My father, a former beta had challenged his Alpha . A very foolish attempt which I warned him about because I already saw that he was going to lose . The Alpha banished us instead of killing him because we were very good friends . So I convinced him to move us to New York . Because I knew he was here and the longer it took to meet him, the greater the pain became .

Adalwolf . Everyone has heard of him and everyone has been looking for him .

The twin who went missing in The Moon is Our Sun pack on the night he was born . Who would have thought he ended up in the human world . There must be a reason and I was going to find out why he was left here . I was sure Nyla will tell me everything because she was also here to protect him .

I stood up from my bed and went into the bathroom . I stood in front of the mirror naked . My mother named me Nymeria which means warrior queen . I was a wolf with two special talents . An healer and a seer . This was unusual for my kind . You were either one of the two but I had both and my father used me to his full possession . My mother died protecting me from our former ruthless alpha who wanted to claim me as his mate when I was a little girl even though I was not his mate . My father on the other hand was glad his ten year old daughter was going to become Luna . I didn't hate him because it was just his nature . He just could not help it . So my mother sacrificed herself . A ritual which brought about a prophecy and the death of our Alpha . I was to be mated to a red wolf that had extreme power and wisdom . Who had to die to be reborn .

There was no red wolf in our pack so no one could touch me anymore .

His only son became Alpha and he came to me for advice and visions . We became friends until my father cowardly challenged him .

I took a quick shower then dressed in what I saw most girls in my new school were wearing . It was a bit weird going to a real school seeing as I was home schooled throughout . I wore a short black leather skirt and a red crop top . I straightened my hair and curled the ends then I wore my white sneakers and carried a white bag . I put on mascara and lipgloss .

I went out of my room and headed for the kitchen .

My father was sitting at the table .

' Good morning dad . ' I said with my head in the fridge . I brought out milk and sugar . Then I stretched to the top shelf for the box of Cheerios .

' You are cheery this morning . Normally you wake up crippled with pain . ' he commented but I ignored him . He was talking about how I was before I met Adolph . I wake up in pains because I knew where he was but I could not meet him . I did not know his name either .

I poured some Cheerios into a bowl and poured liquid milk into the bowl . I added a bit of sugar and sat down to eat .

' You have met him . ' he stated . I looked up and stared at him . I didn't confirm or deny it . I just turned my head back to my food .

' You have to invite him over for dinner . ' he said again taking my silence for a yes .

He was used to me ignoring him so he just continued .

' He will help us to gain our place back in the pack . ' he continued .

' Seems like this is all you care about . ' I mumbled with a mouth full of cereal .

' What else should I care about ? We were banished . ' he returned .

' Because you were foolish enough to challenge Jacob . ' I shot at him .

' He's a kid . ' he shouted .

' A kid powerful enough to best you . ' I snapped . He had no reply to this so he was quiet .

I finished my cereal and dropped my bowl in the sink .

' I'm off . ' I called as I took my car keys from the shelf .

I got into my car and drove to school in anger . I just hoped my second day in school was a lot better than the first few hours of today .
