C56 He Had to Call the Security Guards!

"Please, stop causing a scene. If you keep this up, I'll have to call security!" The manager spoke with a hint of exasperation.

"Why don't you just go buy a toy car, young man?" Director Liu chimed in with a sneer, flaunting the black bank card from his wallet. "I'm about to make a purchase here."

Huang Li, realizing that the deal was sealed and the commission lost, felt a surge of injustice and her eyes began to well up with tears.

Lee Yu inhaled deeply, ready to respond, when suddenly a bustling crowd entered the exhibition hall.

The group marched straight past, but the leader glanced back, did a double-take, and hurried over.

"Uh... Young Master Yu, what brings you here?" Ann Kangyu inquired.

Having dug up quite a bit of information on Lee Yu overnight, Ann was unsure of the proper address. He debated between 'Lee Yu' and 'Yu', neither feeling quite right. After much deliberation, he settled on 'Young Master'.

"It's you? Just call me by my name!" Lee Yu shivered at the title; only his two maidservants from the Otherworld called him 'Young Master', and he never expected an elderly man to do the same. "What are you doing here?"

"Haha, I'm here for some investments. Decided to take a stroll and personally pick out some cars," Ann Kangyu said with a beaming smile, eager to foster a rapport with Lee Yu. Curious, he asked, "Which model caught your eye? I'll gift it to you; after all, it's all in the family."

"No need, my car was stolen," Lee Yu replied bluntly, gesturing with a nod, "You see, I was just about to pay."

"Isn't this the big boss?" The shop manager racked his brain and then it clicked – the identity of the cheerful old man. Realizing the boss was warmly engaging with the very person he had just slighted, he was taken aback.

If his memory served him right, this boss had some shady connections in his past.

Director Liu was equally astonished, his attention drawn to the entourage behind the elder. Their attire and demeanor clearly indicated they were bodyguards or henchmen, with the elder as their leader...

He glanced at the elderly man from the side, scrutinizing him carefully before a shocking realization of the man's identity hit him. He quickly bowed his head, no longer daring to meet the old man's eyes.

Yet, he couldn't escape the sound of the young man's taunting voice. Despite an overwhelming urge to give himself a harsh slap, he knew there was no remedy for regret. With a ghostly pallor, he lifted his gaze to meet Ann Kangyu's piercing stare, his body quaking like a leaf in the wind.

"Has someone dared to steal from you?" Ann Kangyu asked, his voice tinged with surprise. But he was quick to see an opportunity in the situation. His eyes scanned the crowd.

A face caught his attention, someone who looked like a shop employee. Ann Kangyu disregarded the store manager and focused on the older man embracing a woman, his brow furrowing in thought.

This man didn't ring any bells. Could he be another big fish from out of town?

After a moment's deliberation, Ann Kangyu decided to engage. "My friend, where might you be from?"

Friend... The title was far too grand for me to claim.

Wasn't this just setting me up for a harder fall later on?

Director Liu, drenched in sweat, hastened to respond, "Master An, I run a company under your jurisdiction."

Though they were of similar age, Director Liu wouldn't dream of overstepping his bounds.

Master An... Ann Kangyu nodded in recognition. He was accustomed to the title, and it gave him a measure of the man's standing—certainly not on par with his own.

He declared, "It's like a flood washing through the Dragon King Temple—a case of mistaken identity. If you fancy this car, feel free to take it with you!"

"Just a moment ago, you were about to have security throw me out," Lee Yu remarked with narrowed eyes and a wry smile.

Difficult and vengeful—Ann Kangyu mentally tagged Lee Yu.

Turning to the store manager, Ann Kangyu's voice cut through the air, "You're no longer needed as manager here."

His words left the once haughty manager dumbfounded. Before he could gather his wits, Ann Kangyu addressed Director Liu with his next pronouncement.

"And you, from this day forward, the Northern Group will sever all business ties with you!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Director Liu, who had been confidently clutching his bank card, seemed to have had the wind knocked out of him, collapsing to the ground in a heap.

His company had flourished under the auspices of the Northern Group, with all its profits trickling down from the conglomerate's hands. Ann Kangyu's statement hit him hard; he knew that once the business ties were severed, he could no longer claim the title of CEO Liu.

What would people call him then? Old Liu or Little Liu?

Their lament was short-lived. Noticing Lee Yu's furrowed brow, Ann Kangyu surmised he might find the scene distasteful and ordered his men to eject the pair, tossing them onto the street.

"This individual has remarkable business acumen!" Lee Yu remarked with a meaningful glance at Huang Li as they ascended to the second floor.

Ann Kangyu agreed, "Talent will not go to waste!"

He promptly decided to appoint her as the store manager, then, citing the complexity of the car purchase contract, led Lee Yu upstairs.

"It's tough to manage when there are too many people," Ann Kangyu mused, shaking his head in the reception room.

Beyond those he had dispatched with his gun, he discovered some of his men had accepted dubious payments. The implications were clear to Ann Kangyu, and in his fury, he dealt with the offenders.

Only after purging the group did he sleep soundly.

Reflecting on the events, he found himself somewhat indebted to Lee Yu.

Lee Yu scratched his chin, at a loss for words. Their paths had barely crossed, their only encounter being Lee Yu's confrontational visit. Yet, during the car purchase, Ann Kangyu had been genuinely helpful.

Without that, Lee Yu would have been at a loss for solutions. It wasn't like he could go around arresting and beating up anyone who irked him.

"About Black Panther..." Ann Kangyu began, noting Lee Yu's disinterest, and swiftly changed the subject.

"No worries," Lee Yu dismissed with a wave of his hand. The old man's response and the three-star tiger devoured ghost he had acquired would ensure Huang Xiu's protection, day and night. The future looked clear of trouble.

Huang Xiu had indeed turned misfortune into fortune. With the tiger devoured ghost by her side, most unforeseen mishaps would vanish, posing no threat to her.

Upon hearing this, Ann Kangyu realized that Huang Xiu must have already organized protection for herself. After pondering for a moment, he decided to discreetly assign someone to provide covert protection as well.

Lee Yu quickly caught on. He surmised that his earlier threat to stir up trouble for the Northern Group if anything happened to Huang Xiu had prompted Ann Kangyu to take this precautionary step.

"As long as it doesn't disrupt everyday life," Lee Yu said with a nod of approval.

The shortcomings of the tiger devoured ghost were quite evident; it was foolish and lacked any real intelligence. Knowing someone was shadowing him gave Lee Yu a measure of reassurance.
