"Young Master, you're finally awake. I was afraid I'd never see you again!" Ling'er exclaimed, embracing Lin Feng with tears of joy. "Manager Bai, what was that you mentioned about 'Layer Two'?" She asked, thinking she might have misheard earlier.
Chief Steward Bai's face brightened as he bowed to Lin Feng, "Congratulations, Young Master Lin, on your breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment's second layer."
"The second layer of Foundation Establishment? Young Master, you're finally able to cultivate? That's wonderful!" Ling'er examined Lin Feng closely, noting a significant change in his aura.
"Yes, I can finally start cultivating," Lin Feng said, exhaling deeply. With his cultivation abilities awakened, he felt as though he had been set free into the vast ocean.
But his brow furrowed the next instant.
Even with his newfound ability to cultivate, being confined by Lin Yuanshan was not sustainable. He urgently needed to get acquainted with martial skills and secure some pills to solidify his realm.
Turning to Chief Bai, Lin Feng's eyes sparkled as he laid on the charm, "Thank you, Uncle Bai. I've looked up to you since I was a child. Besides my father, you're the person I respect most."
Chief Steward Bai felt a surge of pleasure at the direct praise, but his worldly wisdom told him there was more to Lin Feng's flattery than met the eye. He mused internally, "When did this young man become so calculating?"
The Lin Feng of old wore his heart on his sleeve, barely managing even the simplest courtesies. Today, he seemed utterly transformed, as if he were a different person altogether.
"My luck has turned, Uncle. I've made a breakthrough and now I urgently need a Body Transformation Pill and the Fire Lion Fist martial arts technique. You wouldn't want to see your nephew's potential go to waste, would you?" Lin Feng inquired.
Steward Bai's face shifted subtly. Lin Feng's request was put in such a way that refusal seemed impossible. A storm of thoughts churned in his previously still heart, "Had this been before, I might have declined Lin Feng's request. But now, he's achieved the second layer of Foundation Establishment out of nowhere. It's quite peculiar."
Exhaling deeply, Chief Steward Bai appeared to have reached a significant decision. "I'll take care of it immediately," he declared. "Within no more than two hours, the Body Transformation Pill and the Fire Lion Fist will be delivered to your room."
Having said his piece, Chief Steward Bai turned on his heel and left Lin Feng's room, murmuring to himself, "I hope my choice this time is the right one."
Two hours later, Chief Steward Bai had someone bring a Body Transformation Pill and the Fire Lion Fist martial arts manual to Lin Feng's room.
Lin Feng ingested the Body Transformation Pill and settled into a cross-legged position, quietly beginning his cultivation.
The pill was designed to temper a martial artist's Martial Body, providing a more solid foundation at the Foundation Establishment stage.
Within the Lin family, a disciple could receive a maximum of three Body Transformation Pills during this stage, underscoring the pill's rarity.
As soon as Lin Feng took the pill, it transformed into a powerful medicinal force in his lower abdomen. Guided by Lin Feng, it spread through his meridians. The five bone meridians interconnected, creating a large circuit. With the Heaven-defying Meridian Map technique, the five martial meridians were rapidly assimilating the pill's medicinal power.
In under fifteen minutes, Lin Feng had fully assimilated the medicinal power of the Body Transformation Pill.
Opening his eyes, Lin Feng rose to his feet, stretching and loosening his limbs.
His arms and legs emitted a satisfying series of pops and cracks, prompting Lin Feng to nod in approval.
"With the current strength and potential of my Martial Body, one Body Transformation Pill is simply not enough. I would need at least a hundred to perfect my Martial Body. Nevertheless, I'm on the cusp of reaching the third layer of the Foundation Establishment realm, which is commendable progress."
After limbering up, Lin Feng stepped out of his room and into the courtyard.
Night had fallen, and the stars blanketed the sky. Several bonfires blazed in Lin Feng's courtyard, casting a warm glow despite the darkness. Silver-armored soldiers were scattered about the area, members of the Lin family's law enforcement team.
"Young Master, the Patriarch has given strict orders that you are not to leave," one of the soldiers intercepted Lin Feng, his tone respectful but his face betraying a hint of mockery.
Lin Feng's gaze turned icy as he swept his eyes over the soldier.
The soldier felt as if he had plunged into a frigid cavern, his body chilled to the core, his mind momentarily wiped blank.
Humiliation welled up within him. Had he really been intimidated by a nobody?
"My father forbade me from leaving the yard, but he never said I couldn't step outside the house," Lin Feng said, his voice cold as he stared down the soldier. He then bellowed, "Scum, out of my way! You dare to disrupt my leisure? I'll make sure you regret it here in the Lin family!"
Lin Feng was the picture of a pampered young noble.
The soldier's face registered shock, Lin Feng's presence having rooted him to the spot, and he instinctively cleared a path.
Had Lin Feng just called him trash?
As the soldier regained his composure, disbelief still painted his features.
Lin Feng paid the soldier no mind and began to practice the Lin family's martial technique, the Fire Lion Fist, in the courtyard.
"Hmph, this nobody thinks he can master the Lin family's esteemed high-grade yellow-tier martial skill? Delusional!" The soldier sneered at Lin Feng's somewhat clumsy form, "Just a worthless young master who fancies himself something special. I can't wait to see the look on your face when you inevitably fail!"
