C5 Chapter 5

Adelyn

It's been two weeks now since I got the job opportunity in California and I decided to give the little time I have to my nanny.

Nanny has already conducted her surgery and it was successful although according to the doctor it might take a while before she finally recovers.

Nanny has been telling me she is having a bad feeling about my trip to California but to me she's just saying that because she's gonna miss me.

My love for my nanny grows everyday because sometimes I wonder what my life would have been if not for her.

I wonder if my real parents actually wanted me dead didn't they have a rethink when they were leaving me in the hands of a nanny.

Because if I was in that position I would think what if she doesn't treat my baby nicely or was i just a mistake to them.

At least I am blessed to have a nanny in my life. I guess we have similar issues.

I actually cried when my nanny told me her story two days ago and it only motivated me to work hard and make her live a happy life.

Nanny said she was actually from a rich family but her parents valued male children more than her being the only female.

She said she was the first child but she didn't actually get any care from her parents because they were always busy going from one hospital to the other in search of a male children.

While she was ignored as if she meant nothing to them and at the age of five she already knows how to take care of herself.

But her life became worse after her mother gave birth to her little brother. the little time they gave her they stopped.

And when she turned 19 her little brother's girlfriend lied against her and the people who called themselves her parents threw her out of the house just because her brother was involved.

According to her she has always had a dream to speak up for the female child but she didn't have the opportunity.

Anyway that's by the way .

I was already done packing my bags so I took my bath and prepared for my trip.

After getting ready I went to the bus station and boarded a bus to the hospital to say goodbye to my nanny and when I got to the hospital I kept my bags at a corner and walked in.

Without being stopped by anyone i went straight to nanny's ward and immediately she saw me she smiled.

“Good morning nanny, how are you doing?”

I asked, sitting beside her.

“I'm fine baby, I can see you are already set to go.”

She replied.

“Yes nanny i am ready to go and i swear i am going to miss you so much.”

I said almost in tears.

“Come on baby, don't cry, we will always keep in touch okay.”

She said, kissing my forehead.

“Okay...”

I replied wiping my tears with the back of my hands.

“I have an advice for you baby no matter where you find yourself don't ever forget who you are and the background you come from.”

She said and I nodded.

“Now baby tell me who you are?”

She asked and i smiled.

“I am Adelyn Henderson, a pancake girl from Las Vegas and I am proud of it.”

I replied and we laughed.

“I have to go, nanny before I miss my flight.”

I said and stood up and kissed her on the cheek and she kissed me on my forehead and I left.

I walked outside, took my bags and boarded a bus to McCarran international airport.

When i got there i was just behaving like a fool maybe because that's my first time coming to an airport.

But by the grace of God I was able to process all my traveling requirements so they told us to wait at the waiting area so that our flight will take off in the next 5 hours.

I was just sitting in the waiting area thinking about my life.

Who says being poor is good huh?

In my own eyes a rich girl just walked out of there with a bodyguard following her everywhere.

That has always been the life i want, being an independent lady but unfortunately life doesn't go right but instead it goes left.

You will see a very beautiful lady being a bridesmaid for a girl who is not even half her beauty, just look at how an old man just got slapped by a girl young enough to be his grandchild.

But people are actually rude in this part of the world. The girl in question is actually wearing a highschool uniform.

Sometimes I wonder why these rich people don't actually give their children good home training huh.

Or is it that the only things they teach them is wearing the most expensive shoes and driving flashy cars in addition to living a stress free life.

“Hmm”

Anyway if there is something nanny taught me i like the most that's minding my business.

I don't interfere with people's business because according to my nanny that's the only way to live longer.

FIVE HOURS LATER

It felt like forever before they announced that our flight was taking off soon and I sighed.

Staying at the waiting area was really tempting because everyone was just buying things and enjoying themselves while all I could do was look.

In no time.

We were done with the processes and we were already set to live.

After a while the flight went off.

I was actually going to a strange land without knowing what awaits me there.

I was just hoping everything goes as planed.

I rested my head at the seat looking out through the window and I smiled looking at nature.

I closed my eyes and muttered.

“Please California be nice.”

After a little while my eyes began to get heavy. I closed my eyes and gave in letting sleep take over.
