C12 Wounds

On the side of the street, in the pharmacy that was open 24 hours a day, Jeannette looked at the dazzling display of medicine in the glass counter. She could not react in time. Just now, when Noah had told her to come with him, Jeannette's heart had raced. She thought he was going to tell her something. She did not expect him to bring her to the pharmacy to buy medicine.

Looking at the wound on her hand, which had already healed, Jeannette took a few deep breaths before saying, "The wound is not very deep. I'll go back to the school hospital to treat it."

She wanted to spend more time with Noah, but the current situation made her feel as if she was being given away.

"When you go back to the school hospital, it will be closed. Since the wound is not very deep, you can just treat it here."

Noah's tone was not heavy when he said this. When Jeannette heard it, she wanted to refute him. However, before she could say anything, Noah changed the topic. "Coincidentally, I also have something to tell you."

Jeannette was speechless.

Jeannette raised her head and looked at Noah, who also lowered his eyes to look at her. Their eyes met, and they stared at each other for a moment. Noah took the initiative to move his gaze away. After a while, Jeannette lowered his head again.

Because the pharmacy had tables and chairs, they bought the medicine to treat external injuries. The two of them sat down in a corner.

Jeannette took out a iodine bandage and gently disinfected the wound. Noah sat by the side and flipped through his phone. After pressing the screen, his gaze fell on the hand that was constantly moving.

Jeannette insisted on bringing Noah to the pharmacy because she wanted to talk to her. She also wanted Noah to treat her wound. Noah remembered that when Jeannette had just entered the school for less than a month, she had injured her finger. The wound was not small. When she had just been injured, Noah had gone to find her because he had something to do. He had noticed the wound and asked her to come to the office a week later. When he found that the wound had not healed, he asked her to apply a band-aid.

The girl seemed to have not expected that he would care about such a small matter. After a short moment of surprise, she pursed her lips and said, "It's not serious. It's not convenient to put a band-aid on it."

When he heard the explanation, he did not think much of it. He only asked her to pay attention. However, he did not know that after she heard his words, her face turned slightly red, and the next day, she stuck a band-aid on her hand that had already started to scab.

Noah really knew very little about Jeannette's studies, and there were only a few things that he could remember. This wound was one of them. Since he knew that she had a bad habit of not treating her wounds, he decided to correct it for her. It was not a waste to have taught her.

Suddenly, a gurgling sound came from the quiet pharmacy.

Noah raised his eyes and looked at Jeannette. "You didn't eat dinner?"

Jeannette nodded and threw the medical waste in her hand into the trash can with an unnatural expression on her face. She had not eaten much in the afternoon and only had a glass of fruit juice to fill her stomach at night. She was not hungry at all.

"Let's go."

Noah saw that she had finished treating her wounds and picked up his phone. He stood up and said.

"Where are you going?" Jeannette asked.

"I'm going to eat something first."

Jeannette said, "There's no need."

"I didn't eat dinner. I only drank a little wine," Noah said.

Jeannette could no longer struggle. She carried her bag and followed Noah out.

Noah took Jeannette to a congee restaurant in the bar. He ordered a bowl of congee, which was warm and refreshing in this cold autumn night.

The two sat opposite each other and finished the late dinner.

"Are you full?" Noah asked as he watched Jeannette put down the spoon.

Jeannette nodded. "Yes, I'm full."

Noah nodded slightly and took the hot tea in his hand and drank it slowly.

Jeannette looked at his thoughtful expression and took the initiative to speak.

"Mr. Noah, if you have something to say, just say it."

The girl's voice was very light in this quiet porridge restaurant, as if there was no weight at all. Noah's drinking motion stopped there. A few seconds later, he put the teacup back on the table and made a light sound.

Noah did not seem to be at a disadvantage when it came to Jeannette's initiative. Whether it was her age, experience, or even her identity, she was able to maintain her composure. However, it was true that this girl was a little out of his expectations. This girl's personality was much more resolute than he had imagined.

Noah realized that he had always underestimated her.
