C4 Tragedy 1

“I am confident that your father is the Chairman of The Endless Love Arcadia. Why not give him a call, either?”

Now, they were crying profusely, and the VC turned to the Chief of the Security and ordered.

“Take them away. In the next two hours, they should be out of the campus.”

“Consider it done, Prof.”

To the astonishment of the students, the Vice Chancellor cheered up immediately and called out.

“My Penultimate friends, kindly take your seats.”

Now, Phina Skye, who thought she had gotten herself a boyfriend because of Jeff’s interest in the discussion, felt she had also lost him as she was led away like a criminal.

They continued with their discussion while the Chief of the Security took the students to the dormitory to pick up their stuff and leave. Before, noon, the Vice Chancellor issued a Press Release and the media gave it wide publicity.

(Five Freshman Year Students expelled from the Eagles City University for Impersonation.)

The netizens were impressed with the boldness of the University, especially the Vice Chancellor, and began to comment.

(Too bad, that is a serious criminal offense.)

(Thank you, Prof. Thompson, for exposing such unwanted students.)

(This University is so discipline.)

(Can I have a slot for my son?)

(This will serve as a deterrent to the other student.)

Meanwhile, between noon and 3 pm, one thousand, two hundred parents had sent emails requesting for the opportunity for a replacement of the five students with their children or wards.

Likewise, the Vice Chancellor appreciated Jeff for the gift before they left.

“This is the best thing that had happened to me this year. I appreciate.”

“Never mind, Prof. Thompson. We shall be on our way.”

“It is all right. Please have no hesitation to always check on me.”

“We will always do, Prof. Thompson.”

Afterwards, they visited other lecturers. Their first port of call was Mr. Benjamin Noah’s office, and he was delighted to see them.

“Wow! Here come the Penultimate Students.”

Mr. Benjamin Noah greeted when they got to his office.

“Good morning, Mr. Noah. It is my pleasure to see you.”

“Good to see you too. Congratulations. You have retained your position as the best student for two years.”

“Thank you, Mr. Noah. We brought this token for you.”

Mr. Noah was excited and he appreciated. Then, they ended their visitation at Prof. Wood’s office, the only lecturer whom Jeff had confided in. The day he revealed his true identity to him, he was awestruck and held him with high regards. That day, he was happy with the gift as much as he was happy to see them.

“Thank you, Jeff and Leon. I am so honored.”

“Don’t mention, Prof. Wood. We will be on our way.”

“It is all right.”

After they exited Prof. Wood’s office, Jeff inquired.

“What of your lecturers, Leon?”

“Big brother, you know that the only lecturer that I am acquainted with is Prof. Green.”

“Let’s check on him then. We may not have the time to do that once lectures begin.”

“You are right.”

Now, they walked to his office, but to their disappointment, he was not in school.

“Oh! No.”

They exclaimed. Afterwards, they did their registration for the session and set out to leave. Then, they ran into Sidney Tremblay, who was just walking into the registrar’s office for his registration too.

“Welcome to a new session, Sidney.”

“Good to see you, Jeff and Leon.”

“Good to see you too. As you can see, we are on our way home. See you.”

“No. I insist that you wait for me. I would like to give you a welcome treat. Just a moment, please.”

Sidney Tremblay was the first friend they made three years ago in their Freshman Year. He had always regarded them as poor foreigners who needed help, and they were happy to keep their relationship that way. If he believed that Jeff was a foreigner because of his African background, it would be quite understandable. What about Leon, who was a citizen and the son of a diplomat? That notion had cost him many opportunities.

“It is all right, we will wait.”

They returned to the car park and waited in their car.

After a while, Sidney joined them.

“I hope I did not keep you waiting for too long?”

Sidney inquired.

“Not at all.”

“All right. Shall we get going?”

Now, he got into his car and moved. Leon, who was behind the wheels, drove behind while their aids and securities tagged along. They parked at the school canteen car park and got off. Then, Jeff called out on his aid.

“Mr. Levi.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

“Make yourself comfortable in the canteen. It is my treat.”

The aid and the security personnel smiled and appreciated.

“Thank you, Young Master.”

Jeff, who had been satisfied with their services for the past three years since he was in his Freshman Year, smiled happily at them too before he walked into the canteen. Then, they ordered for their meal and continued chatting while they waited to be served.

Now, the parents of the five Freshman Year Students, who were expelled from the University, began to call the school for inquiries. At that juncture, the Vice Chancellor’s Secretary, Mr. Lee, became busy with picking calls and responding to emails. However, he discovered that the five students were foreigners. Their parents, who had invested so much for their children to be admitted into the prestigious Eagles City University, Mississauga, Toronto, were exhilarated when they saw the story on the internet.

“What is the way out, Mr. Thomas Lee? I cannot believe that my son had lost the admission.”

A parent asked.

“I am so sorry, sir, but I am not the right person to answer your question.”

Other parents called too for the same purpose, and they got the same responses. Now, it was a case of one man’s misfortune turning out to be another man’s fortune. Some parents who desperately wanted their children in the University called too.
