C104 Do You Want Me to Carry You Over?

Yuvyuv followed Huo Lingxiao up to the third floor. As they walked, she casually glanced around at the apartment's layout. It was designed with a simple elegance, featuring stark lines and dark colors, giving off a somewhat cold and impersonal vibe—like a bachelor pad.

Wait a minute!

Yuvyuv's eyes widened in surprise. She quickly surveyed her surroundings, her mind snapping back to clarity as familiar memories from her past life surfaced. Her eyes opened wide, taking in the apartment's cold, hard atmosphere, which was almost palpable with a sense of ironclad determination.

"This... this is where Huo Lingxiao lives," she nearly whispered to herself, the realization hitting her like a bolt of lightning.

Yuvyuv was fully awake now. She looked at Huo Lingxiao holding her hand as they walked down the third-floor hallway toward a room at the end. She stopped abruptly, refusing to take another step.

This shameless man had actually brought her to his personal living quarters. When she got out of the car, she had been puzzled by Huo Lingxiao's apparent generosity in offering her a separate apartment.

This military hospital was built on a vast, desolate piece of land, with a building area more than ten times that of a regular hospital. It primarily treated the injuries and ailments of military personnel, so it was much larger than a typical hospital. The medical team here was also exceptionally strong.

Backed by the military government, the hospital had a solid foundation. The doctors here were all military physicians with official ranks, some of which were comparable to high-ranking officers in the military. To better serve the armed forces, the military government invested heavily in constructing apartment buildings for the experienced military doctors to reside in.

In front of her stood a standalone apartment building.

Yuvyuv suddenly remembered that this was a temporary resting place reserved for the Great Devil, Huo Lingxiao. The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to run away in fear. This devil had brought her directly to his apartment. He seemed even more insane and terrifying than in her past life. What was he planning? Was he going to keep her here, like a pet? He had tricked her father by pretending to offer her an internship at the hospital, only to lure her here with threats and temptations.

The thought of this possibility made Yuvyuv's face turn pale.

"What's wrong, little one? Aren't you going to come over and see how your room is set up?" Huo Lingxiao noticed the small figure behind him, frozen in place.

Yuvyuv was startled by his mention of "setting up a room," and she instinctively pulled her hand away, ready to run. Her mind raced with fear and urgency. "See, I was right. This devil had planned all along to keep her here, like a pet in his private collection. Otherwise, why would he have a room prepared for her?"

Her face grew even paler with fright. She desperately tried to pull her hand from his strong grip. She had to escape, but not back home. No, going home would only make it easier for this devil to find her, and angering him could endanger her family. She couldn't drag her family into this mess. She needed to get far away, out of Haicheng, where he could never find her.

Yuvyuv was truly terrified. In her past life, she had been so afraid of Huo Lingxiao that her body would instinctively freeze at the sight of him, and all she wanted to do was run away.

She had tried to escape before, but each time, within days, Huo Lingxiao would personally track her down and bring her back. What awaited her then was his relentless, almost demonic training regimen. He would push her to the brink of exhaustion, leaving her too drained to even think about running away again. Only when she admitted, "I won't," in response to his cold demand, "Tell me, do you dare try to escape again?" would he relent, if only temporarily.

It was madness.

Ye Yuvyuv had always believed that if she could just protect her family in this life and prevent the tragedies of the past from repeating, this demon would have no chance to get close to her again. Yet, she found herself ensnared in Huo Lingxiao's carefully laid traps.

First, he forced her to sign an IOU, pressing her bleeding finger onto the paper like a bandit. Then, he accused her of being a spy, locked her in a dark room, and coerced her into signing a contract.

Now—

Ye Yuvyuv was trembling uncontrollably, thinking, "This demon is even crazier and more twisted than before. He tricked me into coming here, intending to keep me captive."

It was terrifying.

Ye Yuvyuv, lost in her own fearful imagination, conjured up all sorts of frightening scenarios. (Ah, poor Huo Lingxiao, it's not his fault that Little Yuvyuv is scaring herself.)

"Hey, what are you daydreaming about? Do you want me to carry you over?" Huo Lingxiao asked with amusement, watching her face turn pale, then dark, and her small frame tremble as if pricked by needles.

Turning around, Huo Lingxiao scooped her up and strode toward the sunlit room he had prepared in advance. A few days ago, he had ordered it to be redesigned and redecorated after overhearing one of his subordinates mention how his little girl wanted a princess room with cute, pink colors.

Huo Lingxiao suddenly remembered that his little girl would soon be coming to the military hospital. Normally, the hospital had dorms for interns, with four people sharing a room, which wasn't too cramped. However, considering how she was raised in comfort, he decided to have a room set up for her in his apartment building—a true lady's room.

The female officers who were temporarily assigned to help with this task looked at their revered Sixth Master with curious and eager eyes. They wondered if his aversion to women was finally being cured and secretly hoped they might have a chance to get closer to him.

Unaware of their thoughts, Huo Lingxiao would have been disgusted and ordered them away if he knew. Yet, he rarely put effort into anything for a woman, and now, the little woman in his arms was driving him mad with her antics, calling him a "big bully, devil, and weirdo," turning his handsome face dark with annoyance.

"Bang!"

Huo Lingxiao tossed the unruly girl, who didn't know how to appreciate his efforts, onto the pink princess bed.
