C109 Vicious Mother and Daughter!

"Uh, I couldn't hear you," Huo Lingxiao said, his expression softening a bit.

Yuvyuv wanted to roll her eyes at his arrogant demeanor. If you want me to call you that, just say so. Not wanting to anger the unpredictable man in front of her, she obediently called out, "Brother Lingxiao!"

"Good girl." Huo Lingxiao ruffled her hair affectionately, as if she were a pet.

Yuvyuv felt a bit annoyed, wanting to swat away his hand. Did he think she was a kitten or a puppy?

Huo Lingxiao let her go and went to the side to ladle a bowl of soup, handing it to Yuvyuv. "Yuvyuv, want to try it?"

Hearing him call her name sent an inexplicable chill down her spine. The warm smile on his face made her feel like she'd seen a ghost.

Not daring to refuse, she took the bowl and sipped. Her eyes suddenly brightened, and she smacked her lips at the delicious taste, looking at him with shining eyes. "Is this fish soup? It's really good!"

Huo Lingxiao's smile deepened.

"Did you buy it from somewhere?" Yuvyuv asked, raising an eyebrow in delight.

His smile grew even wider. "If you like it, I can get more for you."

"Really?" Yuvyuv beamed, not catching the odd note in his words. She took another big sip, feeling delighted. "Wow, this fish soup is amazing! It's fresh and tender with a smooth, rich flavor, and there's not even a hint of fishiness. The cook did a great job."

"Cook!" Huo Lingxiao muttered, his handsome face darkening. But seeing her enjoy the soup so much, he didn't say anything more.

After Yuvyuv finished the bowl, Huo Lingxiao said, "There are no maids here, so I've arranged for your personal maid from the Ye family to come over."

"Xiaoju?" Yuvyuv paused, slightly surprised.

She glanced at the man who nodded, feeling unexpectedly intrigued. Who knew Huo Lingxiao had such a thoughtful side?

Huo Lingxiao merely glanced at the young woman across from him, instantly aware that she probably had some choice words in her mind.

Just then, an aide entered, announcing urgent business for Huo Lingxiao. He promptly stood and left.

Yuvyuv watched until Huo Lingxiao's figure disappeared, listening as the footsteps in the hallway faded. Only then did she exhale, finally relaxing her tense nerves.

She sat at the dining table, lost in thought, reflecting on everything that had happened since she returned. She realized she needed to carefully plan for any potential events concerning the Ye family, leaving no room for carelessness.

Now that Huo Lingxiao had brought her to the military hospital, she couldn't keep tabs on everything at home. She urgently needed someone trustworthy to relay information about the Ye family. That person had to be incredibly loyal.

Who could it be? Xiaoju was out of the question. Huo Lingxiao had already arranged for Xiaoju to be brought here to take care of her. She did need someone by her side here. Besides, even if Xiaoju hadn't come, she wouldn't have involved her in such secretive tasks. Xiaoju was too timid. It wasn't a question of loyalty, but if caught, she'd panic and reveal everything.

So, she needed someone brave and meticulous. Resting her chin on her hands, Yuvyuv thought for a moment and settled on someone. That kid was clever, bold, and detail-oriented. She could trust him with this task.

She calculated the time. In two days, it would be Sunday, and as an intern, he should have the weekend off. Yuvyuv was determined to make a trip home.

Besides arranging for someone to keep an eye on things at home, there was another important task involving her older sister. She needed to go back and set things up properly.

That scoundrel, Wen Shixing, had the nerve to cozy up to her sister, practically asking for trouble. Ye Yuvyuv had to go back and deal with that fool. While she was at it, she planned to use him to send a hefty surprise to the Second Concubine, who had been scheming behind the scenes.

Ye Yuvyuv's gift to the Second Concubine was a heavy one, and she hoped the woman could handle it. A bloodthirsty smile curled at Ye Yuvyuv's lips, like a sinister specter rising from the depths, ready to devour all malice.

Outside, at some point, Huo Lingxiao's tall figure leaned against the side, his dark eyes intently watching the petite figure in the dining room, his gaze deep and contemplative.

...

Late at night, on the second floor of the Ye family home, the light in one room was dim and shadowy. Inside, someone was deliberately speaking in hushed tones.

"Mom, when are you going to deal with that little witch, Ye Yuvyuv? She struts around with that seductive face of hers, and it drives me crazy. I just want to scratch it up," Ye Yulin spat venomously, sitting on the edge of the Second Concubine's bed.

"Don't rush. That little vixen will get what's coming to her," the Second Concubine replied, her eyes flashing with malice.

"But Mom, that little witch, Ye Yuvyuv, is too crafty. You've tried twice, and she slipped through unscathed both times, even dragging that fool Ye Nianci along with her," Ye Yulin said through gritted teeth.

The Second Concubine fumed at the thought. She had set up traps for those two sisters. One was to have Ye Yuvyuv kidnapped and sold off like a cheap slave in a coffin at the underground market of the Parisian Nightclub.

To achieve her goal, she spent a significant amount of money to bribe the black market manager, ensuring that only out-of-town merchants attended the auction that day. She was determined to prevent anyone from recognizing Yuvyuv as the Ye family's daughter. However, things didn't go as planned. Unexpectedly, that little brat was rescued by Sixth Master Huo, who rarely returned to the city.

As soon as the brat was saved, the Second Concubine got wind of it and was furious. Yet, she took solace in her backup plan, a vicious scheme set to unfold on the train back to Haicheng. It was a plan designed to kill two birds with one stone.

She had learned that the Ye family's eldest daughter, Ye Nianci, had boarded the train to chase after her sister. So, she arranged for hired killers to be on that train. To ensure nothing went wrong, she employed several assassins. The idea was to use Ye Nianci's death to frame her sister, Yuvyuv, making it appear as if the little brat was responsible for her own sister's demise.

In a fit of rage, Mr. Ye Mingyuan would then expel Yuvyuv from the family. At that point, the Second Concubine would have her people eliminate Yuvyuv, who would be defenseless outside the family. Even if Mr. Ye Mingyuan regretted his decision and wanted to bring Yuvyuv back, it would be too late. All he would find would be her lifeless body.

The Second Concubine's plan was diabolical, and she secretly admired her own cunning. Unfortunately, her scheme to kill two birds with one stone ultimately failed.

"Mom, I can't wait any longer. I don't know what kind of tricks Yuvyuv is using, but she's got Sixth Master Huo wrapped around her finger lately. Mom, do you think that little brat might end up marrying into the Great Marshal Mansion?" Ye Yulin twisted her fingers anxiously, her eyes narrowed with jealousy and malice.
