C112 Father You Are Still Wise!

The driver held two silver dollars, and in the sunlight, they seemed to glow with a golden hue, much like the radiant smile of a beautiful young girl. It was quite dazzling. The driver thought of his own daughter, and his eyes dimmed slightly. He hadn't seen her in several days. Ever since she graduated, she said she wanted to find a new life, away from their rundown, damp home. She wanted to make something of herself and hadn't returned home in a while. The driver's gaze lost its sparkle. He tightened his grip on the silver dollars and resumed pulling his cart, leaving the street where only the wealthy lived. He had to keep working to support his family. There were still two younger children at home who needed him. He couldn't afford to take it easy.

Meanwhile, as Nianci invited Shixing to the tea house, the large gates of the Ye family opened. A Ford car slowly pulled out. "Uncle Li, to Xinglong Tea House," Yuvyuv instructed the driver, Old Li, after glancing at her father, Mingyuan. "Yes, Miss Yuvyuv," Old Li replied warmly. The car headed towards Xinglong Tea House on Old Town Street. Inside the car, Mingyuan's expression was far from cheerful. "Yuvyuv, how many times have you met that Wen Shixing?" Mingyuan asked, his brow furrowed as he turned to his daughter. "Dad, what's wrong? He was my music teacher at school. I saw him every time we had a music class. After graduation, not so much," Yuvyuv answered honestly. "Oh, and what do you think of his teaching ethics?" Mingyuan asked thoughtfully, focusing on his character rather than the person himself. Yuvyuv smiled slyly, thinking, "Dad's a real old fox." She pretended to ponder seriously before responding with feigned innocence under her father's scrutinizing gaze, "Dad, you mean his teaching ethics? How should I answer that?"

She bit her lip slightly, looking a bit conflicted.

Ye Mingyuan felt a jolt of curiosity and quickly coaxed his daughter to continue, "Erya, go ahead and tell me. I'm just curious if your previous school lived up to its reputation."

Ye Yuvyuv seemed encouraged, her eyes darting as she said, "Well, how should I put it? Wen Shixing's music class was just okay."

She was being honest, with no intention of belittling. Having lived through a lot, she had seen many things. While she wasn't a musician, she had an appreciation for music and understood a bit about it. So, someone like Wen Shixing was, at best, mediocre.

The reason why someone like Wen Shixing got hired at a prestigious girls' school had been explained before. First, his credentials were fake. Second, he had the fortune of meeting Henry in France, who was sent to the slums by his grandfather for experience. Under Henry's guidance, Wen Shixing picked up some vocal techniques. Though he didn't master them completely, he learned enough to get by. Plus, Wen Shixing was smooth-talking enough to fool some people.

Ye Yuvyuv raised her pretty eyebrows, a glint in her clear eyes as she glanced at her father's serious expression. She continued, "As for his teaching ethics, how should I put it? You always taught me not to talk behind people's backs. Maybe you should see him for yourself before making a judgment?"

Her words were half-spoken, leaving much unsaid.

Ye Mingyuan chuckled at his daughter's antics and shook his head, "Alright, I'll go meet this Mr. Wen myself today."

At that moment, his daughter tugged at his sleeve, and Ye Mingyuan smiled, "What is it? Do you have more to say?"

"Dad, you're not going to meet him openly today," Ye Yuvyuv said, her expression serious, whispering as if it were a big secret, "We need to be sneaky about it."

"Secretly?" Ye Mingyuan was a bit annoyed. "Meeting that guy is a favor to him. Why would I need to do it secretly?"

"Dad, if you show up, how can you observe his character closely? Didn't you just ask me all those questions to gauge what kind of person Henry is?" Ye Yuvyuv pointed out directly.

Ye Mingyuan was momentarily stunned, looking at his precious daughter. Her rare display of cleverness almost made him think he misheard.

Listening to his daughter, it seemed to make a lot of sense. Wasn't it said that both Erya and her sister were interested in this Henry? But looking at his daughter now, she didn't seem interested in him at all.

Moreover, Ye Mingyuan noticed that his daughter Erya referred to Henry by his full name.

This?

Ye Mingyuan felt a bit confused. Had he been overthinking things?

At this moment, Ye Yuvyuv, smiling slyly like a little fox, leaned closer to her dad and whispered, "Dad, I don't have the slightest bit of interest in Henry. Are you overthinking again?"

Her mischievous smile, like a little fox, sparkled in her bright eyes, full of cleverness.

Ye Mingyuan's heart skipped a beat, and he looked at his daughter with an incredulous expression. "Erya, are you trying to impress me today? Are you and your sister pretending to be interested in Henry just to get close and find out his true character?"

"Dad, you're sharp as always!" Ye Yuvyuv winked and gave Ye Mingyuan a thumbs up.

Ye Mingyuan couldn't help but laugh at his daughter's playful antics. He gently tapped her forehead, suddenly realizing that his once mischievous daughter, who always caused trouble, seemed to have grown up overnight.

Ye Mingyuan felt a sense of relief and comfort. He thought to himself, "It seems my daughter, Erya, really has no other intentions towards that pretty boy, Wen Shixing. That's good, that's good."

Earlier, while upstairs, Ye Mingyuan had glanced through the window at the front door, where Wen Shixing stood with gifts, dressed to the nines. Just one look, and Ye Mingyuan had made up his mind—this person was no good.

That's why he decided to accompany his daughter, Erya, to the tea house, to see things more clearly and make a decision on how to handle the situation. Ye Mingyuan had to admit, he respected his children's upbringing. He wouldn't impose his own thoughts and wishes on them, forcing them to do things they didn't like. Even if they made mistakes, he would carefully present evidence to show that he, as their father, meant them no harm.

Of course, most of his patience was reserved for his daughters, Ye Yuvyuv and her sister. That's why people said Ye Mingyuan was biased, and quite obviously so.

The car drove through several bustling streets before arriving at an old town street with a quaint charm. Xinglong Tea House was located there.
