C124 Huangfu Sinan Looked at the Corpse and Ate It
The head of the forensic department was deeply troubled, feeling a bit resentful towards the director. It was already challenging enough to accommodate Sinan, and now they had to deal with the director's pampered daughter, Miss Yuvyuv. And to top it off, she was assigned to work under the notoriously moody Sinan. It was just asking for trouble.
At that moment, Sinan, despite his usual demeanor, showed some respect to the department head. He released Yuvyuv and, with a stern expression, asked the head to leave.
Bang! The sound of the autopsy room door closing echoed. The room instantly felt eerie and oppressive. Yuvyuv was so scared she forgot to scream, a chill running down her spine. She was terrified of ghosts. Even though she had been given a second chance at life, she was still afraid of ghosts.
"Where's the light switch? Turn on the lights!" Yuvyuv stiffened, stumbling backward until she bumped into something cold.
"Ah!" A sharp scream finally escaped her throat, and she nearly fell. Something behind her caught her, and she froze, unsure if it was a ghost or something else.
The room was pitch black; someone had deliberately cut the lights. Remembering the corpse on the operating table when she entered, her heart pounded with fear, and she kept retreating.
In the darkness, Sinan's eerie voice echoed, "Little Demon, I'm here. Come to me, and I'll keep you safe."
Yuvyuv felt like banging her head against the wall. Sinan's mischievous tone turned her initial fear into anger, making her want to grab a scalpel and stab him.
Click. The lights flickered back on, illuminating the room. The brightness brought Yuvyuv a sense of safety, easing the oppressive feeling in her heart.
"Hey, look behind you! You're about to crush my fingers. Be careful, or it might just jump up and bite your neck," Sinan suddenly appeared on Yuvy's left, his mischievous grin lighting up his face.
Startled, Yuvy jumped back, only to feel something poke her in the back. She turned to see a skeletal finger, pale and eerie, right in front of her. Shocked, she stumbled backward, colliding with Sinan.
Furious, she swung her hand, landing a slap on Sinan's annoyingly handsome face. "You jerk, that was too much!"
Yuvy was both angry and scared. She had completely forgotten how Sinan's presence was as chilling as a real specter, devoid of any warmth.
After the slap, she met Sinan's ever-changing eyes, which were as captivating as they were unsettling. When he smiled, his eyes were enchanting, but when they turned cold, they were like a demon's, glowing with a sinister red hue.
Fear gripped Yuvy, and she regretted her impulsive slap. She was human, and he was something else entirely. How could she possibly stand up to him? Dealing with the likes of the Great Devil was bad enough, but now fate had thrown this eerie figure into her life as well.
Yuvy felt her future was bleak, and she almost wished she could just end it all to escape the terror of demons and specters. Exhausted and worn out, especially after last night's ordeal with the Great Devil that lasted until the early hours, her nerves were frayed. She couldn't take it anymore and began to collapse.
Sinan caught her just in time, a slight frown on his face. "Am I really that terrifying?"
He lifted her horizontally, glancing around the room. Apart from the surgical tables with lifeless bodies, there seemed to be nowhere else to go. He carried her to an empty surgical table, hesitated for a moment, and looked down at the pale face of the young girl in his arms.
In a rare moment of humanity, he placed her on a recliner he usually used for resting. With a self-satisfied grin, he said, "Little Demon, you're the first one besides me to sit in this special seat. Feeling honored?"
Seeing she was still unconscious, he shook his head, "Well, I'll ask you again when you wake up."
He turned back to the surgical table, focusing intently on his work as if nothing had happened. Huangfu Sinan calmly held a large curved needle, stitching something on the corpse.
When Ye Yuvyuv woke up, it was already noon, right around lunchtime. She slowly opened her tired eyes, scanning her surroundings. Suddenly, she sat up, alarmed. Her large eyes widened, her long lashes fluttering like little fans as she stared about six feet ahead, her voice trembling, "What... what are you doing?"
Huangfu Sinan turned around, holding a plate of something red, and scooped a spoonful into his mouth. "Eating, Little Demon. You're awake!"
Ye Yuvyuv's eyes widened in horror, staring at Huangfu Sinan as a wave of nausea hit her.
"Ugh!"
She couldn't hold it back any longer and vomited from the disgust. Huangfu Sinan, holding his usual work meal tray, found himself caught mid-bite, unsure whether to swallow or spit it out.
Huangfu Sinan had always believed nothing in this world could disgust him—until now. The sight of the young girl retching in front of him finally did the trick. He felt a bit stifled.
He was just sitting normally by the side of a corpse's bed, having a meal, and casually chatting with the corpse to see if it might be hungry too. But the little demon the department head sent over this morning managed to turn his stomach.
Huangfu Sinan was angry. Very angry. When he was upset, his narrow, bewitching eyes gleamed with a wicked light. He set his plate down next to the mummified corpse and murmured in a low, eerie voice, "Hey, buddy, this is my lunch. You can look, but no stealing. Even if you tried, it would be a waste. It would just fall right through, since all you have left is your jawbone."
"Ugh!" Ye Yuvyuv listened to Huangfu Sinan's creepy words and vomited up all the juice she had drunk that morning. Her stomach felt like it was on fire. She had to get out of this haunted place. And away from this lunatic named Huangfu Sinan. He was not normal, talking to a mummy like it was an old friend and eating right next to it. It was terrifying and made her skin crawl.
She felt like she had encountered a ghostly madman. Ye Yuvyuv vomited all over the floor, not caring about anything else. She propped up her weak body and tried to run. Suddenly, a tall, ominous shadow loomed over her, blocking out all the light above her head.
Frightened, Ye Yuvyuv stumbled back and fell back into the lounge chair.
