C129 Using Poison to Attack Poison Mo Jiuniang Do You dare to Accept It?

"Freeze!"

The man with the long, thin face lunged forward, but stopped abruptly, terrified by the sudden appearance of a gun in Ye Yuvyuv's hand. His knees buckled, and he fell awkwardly to the ground.

Lying there, he felt the sting of the fall but didn't dare to make a sound. The room fell eerily silent, as if you could hear a pin drop. Occasionally, a gust of wind blew in from outside, bringing with it a chilling, eerie sensation.

Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder echoed through the hallway.

"Boom!"

The thunder rolled like it was going to split the earth, making ears ring and hearts race. A fierce wind swept through the corridor into the room, and outside, the rain began to pour down heavily, accompanied by another round of thunder.

"Boom!"

The thunder crashed again.

Out of nowhere, the woman who had been sitting on the floor suddenly stood up. Her face was ghostly pale, her eyes bloodshot, glaring fiercely at her brother-in-law and elder brother-in-law.

In a sharp, piercing voice, she screamed, "It was them! They killed my husband! They're heartless, trying to steal his business and poison him!"

She rushed into the hallway, collapsing dramatically at the window at the end, and cried out to the heavens, "Oh God, open your eyes and see the injustice in this world. Strike down with lightning to prove my innocence, oh God..."

Ye Yuvyuv stood by the door of the room, watching the woman spring to her feet and dash out. A sense of dread filled her as she realized something was wrong.

With a swift kick, she cleared the path of the two brothers blocking her way, her petite frame moving like lightning as she raced out.

No one quite grasped what had just happened, but they were all stunned by Yuvyuv's swift, decisive action.

Even the young male forensic scientist, who had just scolded her, swallowed hard and shrank back a bit, thinking, "This girl seems so delicate, but she's quick to draw a gun and moves with such speed it's terrifying. Best not to mess with her."

Yuvyuv dashed out of the autopsy room and grabbed the woman who was crying out her innocence. "Calm down. Do you really want to go out there and get yourself killed?"

"Miss, you're a good person. Please, let me go. No one believes me. Everyone on the street calls me a wicked woman, saying I killed my husband. But I didn't, I swear I didn't."

The woman's voice was hoarse from crying, her eyes red and swollen. "My husband saved my life. Years ago, when I was fleeing famine, I would have starved on the streets if it weren't for his kindness. He took me in, and I owe him my life. How could I ever harm him?"

"If you didn't harm your husband, why are you trying to end your life? Do you think that because he's gone, you shouldn't live either?" Yuvyuv had sensed the woman's despair when she was crying out on her knees.

That's why she rushed out to stop her.

"Miss, you saw it yourself. It's like the thief crying 'stop thief.' The real murderer is out there claiming innocence. It's absurd. What's happened to this world? Why is it that good people get no reward?

My husband was such a kind soul. He was a genuinely good man. Whenever he saw beggars on the street, he never shooed them away. If he had money, he'd always give it. Such a good person, yet he was killed. It's so unfair."

The woman cried out, her voice breaking, as she looked up to the sky at the end of the hallway, struggling to break free from Yuvyuv. "I need to find my husband. I need to be with him. I can't let such a good man walk that road alone..."

The woman, face etched with despair, broke free from Yuvyuv and was about to dash into the hallway.

Yuvyuv's voice cut through the tension, cold and sharp, "Your husband isn't dead yet. Are you planning to die first?"

The woman halted abruptly, turning back with a trembling voice, "But didn't you say that without an antidote, my husband won't survive?"

"So, are you giving up on saving him, or will you hold on until the very last moment?"

Yuvyuv's gaze was icy, piercing through the woman with a depth like an ancient well, her voice chilling and direct.

A long pause followed.

Tears streaming, the woman cried out, "Save him!"

She fell to her knees before Yuvyuv, "I beg you, help us. I, Mo Jiuniang, will never forget your great kindness."

Yuvyuv stared coldly at Mo Jiuniang kneeling before her, her eyes deep and unfathomable.

Slowly, she bent down, her cool eyes meeting Mo Jiuniang's, her voice carrying a chilling edge, "You do realize I'm not a kind person. I only know poisons, not antidotes. Are you sure you want me to save your husband?"

"Miss?" Mo Jiuniang's voice quivered.

"If I intervene, it'll be poison against poison. Do you dare to accept that?" Yuvyuv straightened, her eyes icy and imposing, locking onto Mo Jiuniang's.

Any hint of hesitation in Mo Jiuniang's eyes, and Yuvyuv wouldn't lift a finger.

Yuvyuv was never one to play the saint or the savior. In fact, she was a cold, detached person, both in this life and the last. She was far from being a good person.

Being too good could get you killed quickly. She found it better to be a troublemaker who lasts a thousand years.

A troublemaker lasting a thousand years implies not dying too soon, right?

As long as she lived, she could prepare for everything, protecting the Ye family from the tragic fate of her past life.

Yuvyuv's amber eyes held a hint of cool detachment.

Amid the rolling thunder, her frail figure seemed like a solitary spirit caught in the world, exuding a sense of chill and loneliness.

Huangfu Sinan stood behind her at some point, his narrow, captivating eyes glinting with an unusual light.

Mo Jiuniang didn't hesitate to trust that Ye Yuvyuv could save her husband. She even promised Ye Yuvyuv that if she could awaken him, she would serve as her maid and offer all their family wealth to her.

Ye Yuvyuv didn't take Mo Jiuniang's wealth but accepted her service. She needed capable people to prepare for protecting the Ye family in the future. Mo Jiuniang was loyal, and Ye Yuvyuv wouldn't refuse her help.

From the moment she returned, Ye Yuvyuv had carefully planned how to safeguard the Ye family. In these chaotic times, she needed both money and power, and she intended to have both.

Her eyes briefly flashed with a cold, cunning brilliance before it disappeared.

A few minutes later, in the now-quiet lab, Huangfu Sinan asked with a mischievous smile, "Yuvyuv, how can you be so sure Mo Jiuniang isn't the one who poisoned him?"

Ye Yuvyuv shot him a cold glance. "The culprit wouldn't want to save anyone. Only the real perpetrator would try to stop the rescue."

Huangfu Sinan laughed, his charm almost overwhelming. "Little Demon, you're quite something. Where did you come from, and why didn't I know about you?"

"Because I'm a celestial being from another realm, while you're just a king of minor spirits," Ye Yuvyuv replied, her smile radiant.

Huangfu Sinan's expression darkened instantly. He huffed, "Little Demon, if you provoke me again, I'll let those two fools outside come in and disrupt your antidote-making process."
