C132 Huo Lingxiao Had Come and Sixth Master Had Warned Him

Huangfu Sinan kicked the person to the ground, looking disgusted. "You're the type who lacks ability but is jealous of my Little Demon for being better than you. Kicking you would just dirty my shoes."

With that, Huangfu Sinan turned coldly to the old forensic doctor. "Professor Qin, your assistant's character is lacking. It's time for a replacement. If you're hesitant, I can speak to the dean for you."

The old forensic doctor looked displeased and replied tersely, "No need for your intervention, Professor Huangfu. I'll handle it myself." With that, he left with his team, looking grim.

By then, the autopsy room was already empty.

Mo Jiuniang's husband had woken up half an hour earlier and identified his real killers—his two brothers. They had given him the poisoned tea that led to his death. His wife, Mo Jiuniang, was not involved. The police quickly arrested the two brothers for fratricide.

Afterward, the hospital transferred Mo Jiuniang's husband to a regular medical ward.

A clap of thunder echoed. The rain poured down heavily, having been relentless for quite some time, like a torrential downpour.

Huangfu Sinan thought of something, grabbed an umbrella, and strode out of the autopsy room. When he reached the hospital lobby, his lips curled into a sly smile. Sure enough, his Little Demon was stuck there because of the rain. She stood at the entrance, hugging her arms to keep warm, her breath visible in the cold air.

Huangfu Sinan walked over with a mischievous grin and draped a men's coat over the girl's shivering shoulders. "What's the matter, Little Demon? Not leaving yet? Waiting for me to join you?"

Ye Yuvyuv was shivering from the cold, silently cursing that bastard Huo Lingxiao. He had told Xiaoju to remind her to bring an umbrella, but she hadn't listened, and now the rain had blocked her way home.

The rain outside was coming down hard, like a waterfall pouring from the sky. It was autumn, and the rain had swept away the lingering warmth, leaving only a biting chill that made her whole body ache. She wanted to dash back to her apartment at the military hospital, but getting soaked and catching a cold wasn't worth it. Ye Yuvyuv had promised herself not to make foolish decisions after her rebirth. Her health was her greatest asset, crucial for protecting her loved ones, and she couldn't afford to be careless.

So, she stood there, waiting for Xiaoju to bring her an umbrella. Unexpectedly, a charming figure appeared behind her. She felt a warmth envelop her as she touched a thick, high-quality wool coat. Turning around, she was met with a strikingly handsome face that seemed almost otherworldly.

Ye Yuvyuv couldn't help but be taken aback by Huangfu Sinan's stunning appearance. Narrowing her eyes, she thought, "This guy is truly a dangerous charmer." She raised her hand to brush off his elegant hand from her shoulder, scoffing lightly, "Keep your hands to yourself. Didn't your parents teach you about personal boundaries?"

With that, Ye Yuvyuv stepped aside. She had only come up with an excuse to distance herself from the charming danger beside her. She had no intention of standing close to him.

"Ha, Little Demon, do you even have a conscience? You're like an ungrateful little wolf," Huangfu Sinan teased, stepping closer. His slender, fair fingers lightly flicked the coat draped over her shoulders. "Little Demon, this is my coat you're using to block the cold. Why don't you mention personal boundaries now?"

Ye Yuvyuv shot him a sidelong glance, her expression full of disdain. "Did I ask you to put your coat on me?"

She complained but didn't remove Sinan's trench coat. Only a fool would let themselves freeze over a harmless jab.

Sinan, however, watched the young woman with growing interest, his eyes narrowing like a predator spotting intriguing prey.

Amid their sarcastic exchange, a tall man in a military raincoat appeared through the downpour, holding a large black oil-paper umbrella. He strode forward with long, confident steps, cutting through the rain with an imposing presence.

Ye Yuvyuv's eyes suddenly lit up as she spotted the man, tall and god-like in the rain. Her heart skipped a beat. "Huo Lingxiao is here!"

Sinan, who had been observing Ye Yuvyuv's expressions, noticed the change in her eyes. Following her gaze, he raised an eyebrow and leaned in close to her ear. "Little Demon, do you know him?"

Startled by Sinan's sudden proximity, Ye Yuvyuv quickly turned her gaze back to Huo Lingxiao, raising her hand to push away Sinan's overly charming face.

But before she could, a strong hand cut through the rain, pushing Sinan aside with a splash of cold water. Huo Lingxiao's voice, sharp enough to freeze, commanded above her, "Come here, girl."

"Huo Lingxiao!" Ye Yuvyuv shivered, and before she could react, Huo Lingxiao pulled her into his arms.

She was startled but quickly realized they were at the entrance of the military hospital, where many people could see them. She whispered urgently, "Huo Lingxiao, what are you doing? Everyone's watching."

She pushed against him with her small hands, trying to break free.

Ye Yuvyuv stumbled back several steps, nearly slipping on the rain-soaked steps. A strong hand caught her, and soon a large military raincoat was draped over her shoulders. With swift, graceful movements, a pair of long, elegant hands fastened the coat and pulled the hood over her head. Huo Lingxiao's voice, cold and devoid of warmth, reached her ears, "Kid, head back inside. It's pouring out here. Walk slowly."

Ye Yuvyuv looked up, her face innocent and wide-eyed, meeting Huo Lingxiao's stern gaze. She instinctively shrank back a little but nodded obediently, then walked down the steps in her raincoat. Without looking back, she quickly disappeared into the misty rain.

A trench coat was tossed towards Sinan, who caught it effortlessly. Huo Lingxiao's expression darkened as he fixed his gaze on Sinan, his eyes sharp as a drawn blade. His voice carried a chilling warning, "She's not someone you should mess with, Sinan. Stick to your responsibilities and do what you're supposed to."

"Her?" Sinan looked at Huo Lingxiao with a lazy grin. "You mean Little Demon? What if I say no?"

Huo Lingxiao's dark eyes grew even colder. An intense aura of menace radiated from him as he stared at Sinan, his voice dripping with scorn, "Feel free to try. If you dare to provoke her, I won't hesitate to send you back to your family down south. Your half-sister would probably love to have you back, considering how disturbingly attached she is to her own brother."

Huo Lingxiao struck right at Sinan's weak spot, leaving no room for retaliation. Sinan's face immediately darkened, and he glared at Huo Lingxiao, itching for a fight. But Huo Lingxiao merely cast him a cold glance before turning away, his attention back on the small figure struggling through the rain. He quickly moved to catch up with her.
