C141 Little Demon You Want to Kill Me!
Autopsy Room!
Twenty minutes later.
A small black object, resembling a pearl, was carefully extracted from a thin membrane. As soon as the black pearl appeared, Yuvyuv quickly repositioned it.
"Little Demon, what are you doing? Are you trying to steal that?" Sinan, who was busy stitching up, glanced over and was startled by Yuvyuv's actions.
That was something the mob wanted, and judging by how closely they guarded it, it had to be extremely valuable. This Little Demon had some nerve to try and take it.
Sinan hastened his work, intending to intervene. Suddenly, Yuvyuv turned around, quickly approached the man who was still faintly breathing, and deftly retrieved a small black box from his pocket, clutching it tightly.
Yuvyuv then looked at the man, her eyes clear and composed. "Don't worry, I'll make sure your family is taken care of. You're... you're a remarkable hero!" Her voice trembled, her face pale with respect, which made Sinan pause in admiration.
The man on the operating table opened his mouth slightly, tears glistening at the corners of his eyes. With a peaceful smile, he slowly closed his eyes.
He was gone.
Yuvyuv took a sharp breath. Without delay, she quickly opened the small black box in her hand. Inside was a pearl identical to the one extracted from the man's stomach, lying quietly.
Turning swiftly, Yuvyuv didn't have time to explain much to Sinan. She placed the fake pearl in the freezer brought in by the mob leader and quickly sealed it shut. At the same time, she discreetly moved and hid the freezer from the other autopsy room.
After completing all this, a thin layer of sweat had formed on her forehead. Her mind was clearer and more focused than ever. She pulled a handkerchief from her pocket, wiped the sweat from her face, and took a few deep breaths.
Feeling everything was normal, she turned around, her face serious and her gaze coldly fixed on Sinan. "Professor, can you promise not to speak of what just happened?"
Somehow, a gun had appeared in her small hand, the barrel angled upward, ready to fire at any moment. Her eyes were strikingly clear, with a penetrating look that seemed to peer into one's soul, leaving a chilling sensation.
In this moment, she seemed like a merciless warrior from the depths of hell, devoid of any warmth, her eyes filled only with determination and resolve. Sinan was once again taken aback by this young woman.
He had never seen such a range of expressions on anyone, let alone someone so young. A strange desire to possess and control her surged within him.
A mysterious voice echoed in Sinan's mind, "This is my chosen one, and I will never let go."
Sinan looked into her eyes, seeing an otherworldly gleam. "Alright, I promise. But you must tell me why all this is happening," he agreed without hesitation.
"I'll tell you once they're gone," she replied, not intending to keep him in the dark. After all, she needed his help.
Half an hour passed. Sinan deliberately waited until the time the gang leader had specified before opening the door to the lab.
As soon as the door opened, the gang leader and his men rushed in, grabbed the cold storage box from the operating table, checked it briefly, and left in a hurry without a word of thanks.
The sergeant approached awkwardly, offering a few polite words, but seeing Sinan's disinterest, he left with an embarrassed smile.
Once everyone had left, Yuvyuv quickly took off her surgical gown and rushed to the changing room at the back. She pulled out the hidden cooler.
She glanced at Sinan and said, "Keep an eye on this box for me. I need to make a call and I'll be right back."
Sinan's face showed surprise, and he gave a deliberately sinister smile. "Little Demon, aren't you afraid I'll keep the pearl for myself?"
His tone was probing.
Yuvyuv was already at the door. She turned her head, her smile innocent and harmless, but her voice was chilling, almost ghostly. "If you're not afraid of being consumed by bacteria, go ahead and try keeping the pearl."
With that, she turned and left quickly, not wasting any more words on Sinan. She was confident that her words were enough to deter him from messing with the dangerous pearl. Because it wasn't some exotic black pearl at all—it was a petri dish full of live bacteria!
Meanwhile, in the dissection room, Sinan stood frozen in place. His usually strikingly handsome face had lost all color. He held the cooler Yuvyuv had thrust into his arms, momentarily tempted to throw it away.
But he knew better. If what Little Demon said was true, he definitely couldn't risk it. If he threw it and the box broke open, releasing the pearl inside—well, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"That Little Demon, she's trying to get me killed!" Sinan thought, clutching the cooler tightly as if it were a ticking time bomb. Normally carefree, he didn't dare move an inch.
Sinan thought that one day, Little Demon would surely drive him insane.
Yuvyuv didn't use the hospital phone. She jogged back to her apartment.
Xiaoju, her maid, exclaimed in surprise, "Miss, why are you back so early today? Are you feeling unwell?"
Xiaoju had been worried about Yuvyuv's health since the morning and quickly voiced her concern.
"I'm fine, just came back to make a call," Yuvyuv replied casually, then hurried upstairs.
She headed to the study, a place where Huo Lingxiao occasionally worked. However, he never handled important matters here, nor did he bring crucial documents, as this was just a temporary residence while he inspected the military hospital.
The reason he stayed here when not at his post was because of Yuvyuv.
Yuvyuv picked up the phone and said directly, "Please connect me to the military government."
The call was quickly answered by the receptionist, who asked whom she wanted to speak with.
After a moment's thought, Yuvyuv said, "I'm Young General Huo's sister. Please connect me to his office."
"Are you Miss Seventh?" The receptionist, recognizing her as a member of the Huo family, quickly became respectful.
Yuvyuv responded with a simple "Hmm," not wanting to reveal her real name, opting instead to use the Huo family name. With so many children in the Huo family, there naturally was a Seventh Miss.
