C3 Snatch the Spear and Save Big Sister!
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Just as Yuvyuv felt she was about to suffocate and meet her end, the adjutant rushed over. "Sir, what's going on?" he asked, looking puzzled in Yuvyuv's direction.
Yuvyuv glanced at the adjutant and sighed internally. A familiar face. Adjutant Chen, or Chen Qi, had been by this jerk's side the longest and ultimately met the most tragic end. He was betrayed by someone close to Huo Lingxiao just as victory in the war was within reach. To be precise, he died in Huo Lingxiao's place.
Yuvyuv's eyes narrowed as she suddenly focused on the gun at Adjutant Chen's waist. In a swift move, she flipped over, ignoring the pain from her fall, and quickly grabbed the military uniform the man had tossed her. Bending down for a moment, she sprang up, snatching the gun from Chen's waist.
"Don't move!" Yuvyuv commanded coldly, pressing the gun to the back of Huo Lingxiao's head. Her eyes, like liquid amber, flashed with determination. With a quick motion, she also grabbed the gun from the man's waist.
With two guns in hand, she finally felt a bit more secure. She had to save her sister. At any cost.
Even though she knew full well that the man before her was as dangerous as a demon, someone not to be trifled with, she, Yuvyuv, was willing to take the gamble.
In her past life, it was on this very day, this very night, that she was trapped in the black market. Her sister, due to her reckless behavior, was locked in a train's VIP car. The villains had cut a small but deadly incision on her sister's neck, just enough to let her bleed slowly, dying in terror and pain.
Hatred. A deep-seated hatred for the treacherous plot that exploited her spoiled nature, leading to the death of the sister who had loved her most since childhood. That year, her sister was only eighteen, in the prime of her life, a time when a woman is at her best.
All because of her!
Yuvyuv's grip on the gun tightened, her finger nearly pulling the trigger. Adjutant Chen, standing nearby, was startled and shouted, "Fifth Miss Ye, put the gun down! This is our young master, the sixth young master of the Huo family! Your father and our master are sworn brothers, remember?"
Adjutant Chen was genuinely frightened. Usually the most composed by the young master's side, he now wished he could plead with the girl in front of him, saying, "Please, don't push it. This is someone you can't afford to mess with."
He regretted that the young master had brought along this troublesome girl, who was now acting out again.
Yuvyuv seemed oblivious to Adjutant Chen's anxiety. She held a gun in each hand, not relaxing for a second. She knew that if she let her guard down, the man in front of her could easily disarm her or even shoot her.
She tightened her grip on the guns and moved in front of the man. Her pale face lifted, trying to appear calm as she looked at him. Her voice, however, betrayed her, trembling slightly with an instinctive fear from her past life, "You need to give an order for me tonight. Consider it a favor I owe you."
Her eyes flickered as she played a little trick, not specifying what she owed.
"Oh, really, girl? Should I be thanking you then?" Huo Lingxiao raised an eyebrow with a smile, his voice colder and more mocking than the chill of the night air.
"What? Your life is in my hands now. Are you sure you won't agree? Do you believe I won't actually pull the—"
Before she could finish the word "trigger," a sudden numbness shot through her hands, followed by a sharp pain in her wrists. In the blink of an eye, the guns were out of her grasp.
Now, the guns were in his hands. The cold, dark barrel was pressed against her temple.
Damn it.
Yuvyuv froze, not daring to move a muscle. She forced a smile that looked more like a grimace, trying to appease. Nervously, she said, "Mr. Huo, Sixth Master, I was just joking earlier. Please, don't hold it against me."
"What do you think, little girl?" The man pressed the cold barrel of a gun an inch closer.
The distinct scent of his cigar wafted over, chilling Yuvyuv to the core. His voice was icy, "Has anyone ever told you that I'm a petty person who holds grudges, especially against women?"
Yuvyuv's eyes widened as she glanced at the tall man beside her, tears threatening to spill. She wanted to clap her hands and shout that she knew all too well about the devilish nature of the man before her.
In her past life, it was this very man's vindictive nature that nearly drove her insane. The thought made her shiver involuntarily, her bravado completely deflated by fear.
What should she do? She had to save her sister, even if it meant risking her own life. Her sister was on a train heading back to Haicheng, and if it wasn't stopped before dawn, she would meet the same tragic fate as before.
No, no, no, she couldn't let that happen!
Yuvyuv's mind raced frantically, haunted by the memory of finding her sister in a pool of blood, eyes wide open, staring at the phone, desperately trying to call for help. The scene was too horrific, too intense, too painful to bear.
Suddenly, Yuvyuv turned sharply, locking eyes with the man's dark gaze. "I know an important military secret. I'll keep quiet in exchange!"
