C31 Shut up Idiot!

"If you don't want to meet your end too soon, keep your mouth shut, fool."

Zijun gripped his sister's wrist tightly, turning to give Su Wanlin a cold, piercing look with his dark eyes that seemed to chill the air. That icy gaze was enough to silence Su Wanlin, making her clamp her mouth shut.

Outside the coffee shop.

"Rickshaw."

Zijun hailed a rickshaw, his small hands firmly holding onto his sister, who seemed lost in thought. Once seated, he furrowed his brow, uncertain if taking her home was the right decision.

Earlier, in the coffee shop, when his sister had grabbed the foolish woman from the Su family, he sensed something was off. Her eyes were different.

He had seen that strange look before, just three days ago, when she and their eldest sister returned from a trip. He had no classes that day and watched from the window as she came home, her clothes splattered with blood, her eyes a haunting red, just like when she had grabbed Su Wanlin by the neck today. It was unsettling.

"Young master, where to?" The rickshaw driver, quick to recognize the well-dressed siblings as belonging to a wealthy family, asked eagerly.

"To the Ye residence, no... to the nearest phone booth," Zijun suddenly changed his mind, tossing a coin to the driver. "I'm hiring your rickshaw."

"Yes, sir, right away!" The driver, delighted, caught the coin and thought to himself how lucky he was to have such a generous customer today.

With swift movements, the driver pulled the rickshaw, heading to the nearest phone booth as instructed by the young master.

A few minutes later.

A military jeep pulled up in front of a phone booth. The door opened, and a tall figure in a military uniform, with long strides and boots, stepped out.

The soldier stood tall, his handsome face exuding a cold aloofness that kept others at a distance, with an imposing presence that was hard to ignore. His dark eyes scanned the area, landing on the pale face of a girl asleep in a rickshaw.

With long strides, the tall figure approached the rickshaw, casting a shadow over it. The rickshaw driver shivered, quickly bowing his head, "Sir!" he stammered, too nervous to say more, his legs trembling.

"You're here, Six," Ye Zijun said, emerging from a nearby shop with a towel in hand. Seeing the tall soldier by the rickshaw, he paused, thinking, "That was fast."

"Yeah, what happened? Besides being asleep, is there anything else unusual with your sister?" Huo Lingxiao asked, naturally lifting the sleeping girl from the rickshaw into his arms.

He turned, giving Ye Zijun a look to indicate they should talk in the Jeep. Ye Zijun understood, waved the rickshaw driver away, and followed.

Inside the vehicle, Ye Zijun recounted the recent events in detail. Looking up, he said, "Six, something's off with my sister. Wasn't it the same when you brought her home that day?"

"You saw that day?" Huo Lingxiao asked, holding an unlit cigar between his long fingers, his dark gaze fixed on the sleeping girl's pale face in the rearview mirror.

Her usually rosy, delicate face was now pale, as if drained of color. She seemed exhausted, as if she had been through an ordeal, sleeping limply against the seat.

Huo Lingxiao casually unbuttoned his uniform, pulling it off and tossing it behind him. "Cover her with this," he instructed.

Ye Zijun didn't hesitate, using the uniform to cover his sister. He turned to look at the front, "Six, do you know what's going on with her?"

"Hmm?" The cigar in Huo Lingxiao's hand bent slightly as he waved it off. "We don't know yet, but don't worry. As long as I'm here, your sister will be fine."

Ye Zijun felt a lump in his throat. What does he mean by 'as long as I'm here, your sister will be fine'? He talks as if he's really close to my sister.

After a moment of silence, Ye Zijun suddenly said, "Sixth Brother, should we send my sister to that place and let..."

"No way. That place isn't suitable for your sister. It's not safe, and it's not trustworthy," Huo Lingxiao said, waving his hand dismissively, his eyes darkening slightly. "I'll take her somewhere safe. I'll drive you home first, and once you're there, don't tell anyone about your sister's situation except your dad."

"I understand, Sixth Brother," Ye Zijun nodded in agreement.

"By the way, how come you were with your sister today? Since when did you two get so close?" Huo Lingxiao asked as he drove, a rare hint of a smile breaking through his usually stern face.

"Do I not usually get along with my fifth sister?" Ye Zijun rolled his eyes, his sharp, dark eyes showing a wisdom beyond his years.

"Ha, don't try that with me, kid. Why aren't you in school today playing the good student?" Huo Lingxiao asked in a familiar tone.

If Ye Yuvyuv were awake to see this, she'd probably cover her mouth in shock, looking as if she'd seen a ghost. How did this little rascal of theirs get so familiar with Huo Lingxiao, the big bad wolf?

Moreover, the tone of their conversation was oddly casual, not at all like that between an adult and a child. It was more like a chat between close peers.

This strange atmosphere would have shocked Ye Yuvyuv if she weren't fast asleep.

The car soon pulled up to the Ye family home. Ye Zijun seemed a bit uneasy about his sister. As he got out, he glanced at his still-unconscious fifth sister in the car. The young boy's brow furrowed deeply with worry as he looked toward Huo Lingxiao. "Sixth Brother, my sister doesn't seem to be doing well!"

"Yeah, it's not great," Huo Lingxiao said, his lips pressed into a thin line. "You should head back and give your dad a heads-up. No matter what, I won't let anything happen to your sister."

"Alright, I'll head back now," Ye Zijun replied, not asking any more questions.

The car pulled away from the Ye family home.

Through the rearview mirror, Huo Lingxiao glanced at the girl lying pale on the back seat, his eyes deep and contemplative. He couldn't help but recall three days ago when he arrived at the Ye house and found this girl gripping the second concubine, looking as if she was possessed. He clearly saw the bloodthirsty madness in her eyes.

With that thought, he quickly turned the car and sped towards the outskirts of town.

Outside Haicheng, at the foot of Jade Forest Mountain, stood a large courtyard with five tiled houses. A military jeep pulled up in front.

A tall man in a deep blue military uniform stepped out, carrying a petite girl who seemed to be asleep, and headed towards the open gate.

Suddenly, an old man in a Taoist robe, with a long beard and sharp, bright eyes, blocked the entrance with a whisk in hand. Squinting slightly, he glanced at the girl in the man's arms and his face turned pale with shock. "Sixth Boy, why did you bring this troublemaker here? Take her away, quickly!"
