C46 He Was Locked in the Dark Room!

Yuvyuv quickly covered her mouth with her small hand, shaking her head to show she didn't dare. Inside, though, she cursed, "This jerk, it's like he can read minds. He guessed my thoughts just as I had them."

Jerk, he's not even human. No, he's a demon. Only a big demon would be this twisted. In her past life, she was called a twisted poison queen, all thanks to this man's influence.

The saying is true: you become like those you surround yourself with. Ugh, she needed to stay far away from this twisted demon, or she'd end up just like him again.

As they traveled, Yuvyuv's mind was in chaos, all thanks to Huo Lingxiao. Until the sound of a lock clicking broke her thoughts.

Yuvyuv's eyes widened in disbelief, and she shouted angrily, "Huo Lingxiao, are you really locking me up? I'm not a criminal!"

"True, you're not a criminal. You're a suspect," Huo Lingxiao replied, his handsome face cold and indifferent.

Seeing his cold expression, Yuvyuv was so furious that if she had a brick, she would have thrown it at him. This jerk had just kissed her in the car, and now he was giving her the cold shoulder.

She must have the worst luck to have met this jerk.

"Stay here quietly. When you provide useful information, I'll let you go," Huo Lingxiao said, his eyes scanning the small cell that was just big enough for one person.

Actually, it was a hidden room.

Yuvyuv, overwhelmed with anger and fear, didn't even take in her surroundings, only knowing that this jerk had really locked her up like a criminal.

"Damn it, damn it!"

She only mentioned that military secret base in a moment of panic to save herself. Even if she knew about such a place, if she were truly a spy, why would she blurt it out so easily? This jerk, he did it on purpose.

"Hey, if you ever feel like talking, just call out, and I'll come over, okay?" Huo Lingxiao looked at the furious girl who seemed ready to jump out and strangle him, feeling inexplicably amused. He glanced at the dark room where Ye Yuvyuv, looking like an angry little porcupine, was fuming. A wicked smile played on his cold, handsome face.

With a smirk, he turned and walked away with long strides.

"Huo Lingxiao, get back here! I don't want to stay here!" Ye Yuvyuv shouted angrily as she watched the man actually leave her behind. Frustrated, she cursed loudly, "Huo Lingxiao, you jerk, you bastard!"

She thought that yelling at that scoundrel would make him turn back in anger. But then she heard the heavy sound of a door closing and locking.

Defeated, Ye Yuvyuv slumped to the ground. With wide eyes, she finally took a moment to look around the cell.

"Wait, something's not right."

As she examined the dark room that resembled a cell, a strange sense of familiarity washed over her. After a moment, she gasped in shock, "This place, this is the underground research lab!"

In another lifetime, she found herself back here. The place she knew all too well from her past life—the military hospital's underground secret research lab, three floors down.

In her past life, she had spent a full eight years here. Eight years! She had been like a soulless shell, dealing with various instruments, herbs, and lifeless bodies every day. Perhaps anyone hearing this would be terrified and want to escape immediately.

For her, this place was the perfect refuge, allowing her to momentarily escape the terrible events that had unfolded back home. Yuvyuv glanced around the familiar military research darkroom, her vision blurred, unable to distinguish the present from the past.

Time passed neither quickly nor slowly. Yuvyuv had been confined for three days. Alone in the darkroom, she ate and drank as needed, resembling an idle drifter. However, unlike a drifter, her freedom was restricted.

Every night for the past three days, Huo Lingxiao appeared. That infuriating man, as forceful as a bandit, would pry open her mouth and toss pills inside. Yuvyuv resisted! Her resistance only led to him shamelessly putting the pills in his own mouth, then feeding them to her directly, mouth-to-mouth.

Afterward, he would smile wickedly, "Since it's such a hassle to feed you, I'll do it this way every day. I bet it tastes pretty good, huh?"

Yuvyuv was furious, wanting to strangle him. She tried to gag herself, hoping to disgust him enough to vomit the pills out. But he just leaned casually against the wall, his malicious grin growing wider. "If you dare spit it out, I don't mind turning the pills into my saliva and making you swallow it."

Ugh! Yuvyuv nearly gagged for real from his disgusting threat.

After enduring the shameless force-feeding on the first day, Yuvyuv realized one thing: the bottle of pills Elder Qian gave her before getting on the bus wasn't poison. If it were, that devil wouldn't use such a revolting method to feed her.

Today marked the fourth morning of her confinement. In this underground research room, there was no sunlight, no distinction between day and night. The only light came from a dim bulb overhead, always on, casting a perpetual twilight.

Yuvyuv was in a deep, muddled sleep, not wanting to get up. She couldn't tell day from night in this place, and she knew as long as she didn't reveal how she knew military secrets, the man had no intention of letting her go. Resigned, she thought, maybe it was better to just sleep forever, given her knack for causing trouble in both her past and current life.

As she drifted in and out of consciousness, a familiar, steady set of footsteps echoed from the distant basement stairs. The sound of the iron door opening followed.

Yuvyuv lazily lifted an eyelid and muttered, "The big devil's here, jerk!" She had been stuck with this devil for years in her past life, and there was no mistaking his footsteps. They were so familiar that she thought if she had a gun right now, she'd probably shoot this jerk without hesitation.

"Hey, get up, sleepyhead. The sun's practically shining on your backside," the man said, his tall figure standing proudly at the iron-barred door of the dim room. His voice carried a teasing tone that didn't match his usually cold demeanor.

Yuvyuv's brow furrowed, startled by the man's playful words, which jolted her foggy mind awake. She sat up on the bed, legs crossed in an ungraceful manner. Her sleepy, wide eyes, resembling those of a startled little animal, scanned the man outside the bars with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
