C47 The Male Vixen Was Possessed!
Yuvyuv's small mouth moved for a moment before she finally spoke, "Sixth Master, did you take the wrong medicine this morning? Or have you been possessed by a male fox spirit?"
As she spoke, her vibrant red lips curled into a mischievous smile, and her big eyes sparkled with a playful glint. Huo Lingxiao's handsome face darkened instantly.
He glared at the little troublemaker inside, took a step forward, and unlocked the door with a loud clatter. The sound of the lock opening was like a warning to Yuvyuv that she had once again provoked this man.
Seeing the man's face darken at her provocation, Yuvyuv regretted her loose tongue. Why couldn't she resist taunting this big bad wolf? She knew full well that he was not someone to be trifled with, yet her mouth had a mind of its own.
Yuvyuv wished she could sew her own mouth shut. She finally understood why her grandmother had been so exasperated with her that she wanted to do just that. At this moment, she didn't need her grandmother's help; she was ready to do it herself.
"Sixth Master, Sixth Brother, I was wrong, I was wrong. You're not a male fox spirit; you're the brave and mighty Young Marshal of the Northeast, commanding thousands of soldiers, Sixth Master!"
Yuvyuv looked at the man with the dark, handsome face, who walked in with an aura of explosive danger, and quickly tried to appease him with a sheepish smile.
Unfortunately, the man shot her a cold glance, and Yuvyuv wished she could disappear into the ground. But she wasn't a magician, and even if she wanted to find a mouse hole to hide in, she couldn't fit her head in.
"Yuvyuv, sign this." The man stood tall and proud, his face full of cold arrogance. His long, elegant fingers held a document that looked like a contract, which he tossed onto the small bed where Yuvyuv was sitting with a sharp "thud."
Yuvyuv thought the man was about to hit her, so she was shielding her face with her small hands. Suddenly, a stack of documents tossed onto the bed startled her. Glancing at the papers, Yuvyuv looked up with a slightly bewildered expression at the man in front of her, who had a stern and icy demeanor.
"Sixth Master, what is this?" she asked, trying to muster a smile to appease him. "Didn't I just sign a promissory note a few days ago? What do you want me to sign this time?"
She eyed the man, whose face was as dark as a stormy sky, and maliciously speculated that this devil might want her to sign a contract of servitude. As if confirming her suspicions, Huo Lingxiao spoke coldly, "Sign it. Until we clear up your issues, you must stay by my side at all times. You cannot leave my control. If you do, your family will face ruin."
Yuvyuv winced, biting her tongue in shock. "What do you mean? Are you trying to buy me?" she retorted, her eyes reddening with anger at the unreasonable man before her. Her already watery eyes now brimmed with tears, ready to spill over. She was furious. How could he bully her like this?
If he thought she was a problem, he might as well lock her up for life instead of bullying her this way. This jerk was just as brutish and unreasonable as he had been in a past life. She squared her shoulders and glared at him defiantly. "I won't sign. You might as well lock me up here for good."
Wasn't he trying to bully her? Fine, then let him lock her up and see how he explains it to her father. Even though her father was no longer in the military, he still had a deep, brotherly bond with the General, a bond forged through life-and-death experiences.
He didn't believe it; he dared to truly lock her up for life.
"Girl, you think I won't dare, huh?" Huo Lingxiao's voice was cold as he stepped closer, his large hand gripping her delicate chin with force.
Her fair chin quickly reddened under his grip. He sneered, "Girl, how about I personally tell your father that just a word from you could be a military secret of ours? What do you think? Will your father uphold his principles or lock up his problematic daughter?"
"You—my dad would never abandon me." Ye Yuvyuv glared at the malicious man, defiantly holding her head high and staring him down.
With others, she might not have any expectations or reliance, but her father—she was absolutely certain he would never forsake her. In the past, even when she had done so much wrong, he couldn't bear to send her away. If her father knew she was being held by this monster, he wouldn't stand by and do nothing.
"Oh, I forgot, you're the apple of your dad's eye. But girl, have you ever thought that while your dad is shrewd, he's especially clear-headed when it comes to major issues, particularly national and military matters? Have you considered that he might take the blame himself for your sake?"
Boom!
A muffled thunderclap seemed to explode over Ye Yuvyuv's head. Her eyes widened in shock, glaring at Huo Lingxiao with a fierce intensity, her voice trembling with anger, "You dare!"
Her once bright amber eyes were now tinged with a frightening blood-red hue, exuding a sinister, bloodthirsty look like a specter from the depths of hell.
Huo Lingxiao's eyes narrowed, and without hesitation, he grabbed the about-to-explode Ye Yuvyuv, quickly pulling a bottle of pills from his clothes and forcing one into her mouth.
"Hey, wake up. Your dad's fine. What I said earlier doesn't count, okay?" Huo Lingxiao held her tightly, his eyes suddenly turning a fiery red, like a trapped beast, as he faced the attacking Yuvyuv.
He kept her restrained until, perhaps due to the effects of the medication, the fiercely struggling girl, who seemed possessed, passed out in his arms. Only then did he let out a small sigh of relief.
Huo Lingxiao stared at the unconscious girl in his arms, a flicker of regret crossing his dark eyes. He shouldn't have provoked her.
Her condition was even more severe than he had imagined. It seemed that the medication developed by Elder Qian could only suppress her symptoms, not cure them.
What had this girl gone through to end up with such an illness? From her recent episode, it was clear that the triggers for her bloodthirsty rage were the scent of blood and any harm coming to the people she cared about most.
Her father and the entire family were her ultimate boundaries, not to be crossed lightly.
Huo Lingxiao's eyes were deep and dark, his handsome brow slightly furrowed. His large hand instinctively held her closer, feeling the chill of her small body.
He murmured softly, "I was wrong today. It won't happen again." It was like a promise.
By evening, Yuvyuv slowly regained consciousness. As she opened her eyes, she was met with a face she desperately wanted to slap.
Her hand acted before her brain could catch up.
"Smack!"
The sound of the slap landed squarely on his handsome face.
