C50 He Wanted to Eat the Young Grass!

Yuvyuv raised an eyebrow, her gaze cold and sharp as an arrow, fixed on the Second Concubine. The Second Concubine jumped, startled by the piercing look that felt like a knife. Without waiting for Yuvyuv to answer about what she wanted to eat, the Second Concubine hurriedly smiled and headed to the kitchen, her voice trembling slightly as she recited, "Oh, I remember, Yuvyuv loves crystal dumplings, braised chicken, and steamed shrimp... I'll go tell the kitchen right away." Listing several dishes in quick succession, she quickly disappeared from the living room, her steps unsteady.

The Fourth Concubine remained calm and quiet, sitting silently not far away, so much so that if she didn't speak, it was easy to forget she was even there. Yuvyuv cast a cold glance at the Second Concubine's retreating figure, then turned her attention to the Fourth Concubine. She couldn't help but sigh inwardly, "This Fourth Concubine is just as she was in the past, always so calm and composed. Her serene nature is like someone who has left the worldly affairs behind."

Yuvyuv shook her head and shifted her gaze, meeting the curious eyes of the Fifth Concubine, who was smiling at her. Yuvyuv grinned mischievously, as playful as ever, and teased, "What's up, Fifth Concubine? Do I have flowers growing on my face?"

The Fifth Concubine chuckled and replied naturally, "Oh, you cheeky girl, always joking around. But I must say, even without flowers on your face, you're already more beautiful than any bloom."

"Humph, I'm not talking to you anymore, Fifth Concubine. You're always teasing me," Yuvyuv pouted, feigning the petulance of a teenager. She shot the Fifth Concubine a playful glare, as if embarrassed, then quickly stood up and dashed upstairs to her room. She suddenly remembered that tucked in her sleeve was the document Huo Lingxiao had given her.

Dinner was about to be served, and hiding things up her sleeve wasn't a long-term solution. So, taking advantage of some teasing from Aunt May, she pretended to be flustered and ran upstairs. Her actions didn’t raise any suspicion.

“Yuvyuv, dinner’s soon. Don’t fall asleep,” her older sister, Nianci, said with a smile, watching her sister act like a little girl. “Dinner’s almost ready.”

Yuvyuv called back loudly, “I remember, Sis. I’ll be down soon.” With that, she dashed up to the third floor.

Yuvyuv lived on the third floor, sharing it with her sister Nianci. The entire third floor was theirs, while the rest of the family lived on the first and second floors. Some family members felt it was unfair, but there was nothing they could do about it. After all, it was Mingyuan, the head of the family, who made the decisions.

Mingyuan doted on his precious daughter and was known for his favoritism. All Yuvyuv had to do was pout and remind him that the third floor used to be her mother's space, and she didn’t want anyone else living there. That was enough to tug at Mingyuan’s heartstrings.

The late first wife, Yuvyuv’s mother, was Mingyuan’s eternal sorrow. Just mentioning her was enough for Mingyuan to issue a decree: “The entire third floor is reserved for Yuvyuv and her sister. Even after they marry, no one else is to live there.”

This command was undeniably authoritative. Yuvyuv couldn’t have been happier with her dad at that moment. He was her and her sister’s rock. With him around, Yuvyuv could do as she pleased in the family.

Her bold personality was largely a result of her father’s indulgence.

Yuvyuv pretended to be embarrassed and left, heading upstairs.

Fifth Concubine, however, kept her gaze fixed in the direction of the third floor, her eyes slightly narrowed. Still, a gentle smile remained on her face as she slowly turned to Ye Nianci, casually asking, "Nianci, have you noticed that Yuvyuv's personality seems different since she got back from the city?"

Big sister Ye Nianci paused for a moment, hesitating before replying, "Really?" She quickly added with a smile, "Maybe she's just grown up and learned to be shy."

Ye Nianci assumed Fifth Concubine was referring to how her sister had been flustered by the compliments earlier and ran upstairs, so she chuckled in response.

Fifth Concubine's eyes flickered briefly before she smiled and replied, "Oh, that's true. After all, she's eighteen now."

Third Floor, Yuvyuv's Room

As soon as Yuvyuv returned to her room, she immediately shut the door tightly behind her. She turned and flopped onto her soft bed, pulling out the document that Huo Lingxiao had tossed to her from her sleeve.

"This document looks so familiar. Isn't this the same contract that the Great Devil tried to force me to sign when I was locked in the dark room? It's practically a contract of servitude."

Staring at the paper on the bed, Yuvyuv felt a growing sense of unease. She distinctly remembered not signing it. The devilish man had angered her so much that she fainted.

She was aware that her health had been noticeably off lately. As for the reason, Yuvyuv didn't want to dwell on it, knowing all too well what had happened to her body in a past life.

Whatever. If things are going to go wrong, they will. But she hadn't signed it before, so she was curious about what that devil thought he could achieve by giving her this document now.

Yuvyuv reached out to touch the document, and as she lifted a corner, an inexplicable shiver ran through her.

As the paper slowly unfolded, the room fell silent for a moment.

Until a voice, sharp and furious enough to kill, burst out with disbelief, "Huo Lingxiao, you scoundrel! You deceitful, sneaky, shameless bastard!"

"This bastard, this bastard, took advantage of her while she was unconscious, pressing her finger into red ink like some villain forcing an innocent to confess, and stamped it on this contract."

Yuvyuv clutched the document in her hand, ready to tear it to shreds. She was on the verge of despising that devilish tyrant with every fiber of her being.

She glared coldly at the contract, recalling the words he had spoken in the darkroom when he had coerced her, "Girl, you're still under suspicion. If you want to get out of here soon, there are two ways."

She asked, "What ways?"

He replied, "The first way is simple: marry me, become my true woman, my little wife. Naturally, my woman is beyond reproach, and your suspicion will be lifted."

She was furious and embarrassed, shaking her head in defiance, "I won't agree, don't even think about it."

This jerk actually wanted to forcefully take an innocent young girl, just eighteen, like a wolf preying on a lamb. It was clear he wanted to rob the cradle.
