C66 Scum!

"Hey, you little brat, calling him 'brother' so affectionately, huh?" Huo Lingxiao's mild annoyance quickly turned into fierce anger.

He grabbed Yuvyuv's slender waist with his large hand, his cold breath brushing against her frightened face as he commanded sternly, "From now on, don't call those random guys 'brother.' Got it?"

Yuvyuv was startled by his sudden dominance, her heart inexplicably racing from his unexpected closeness. Just as she tried to calm her erratic heartbeat, he seized her wrist. "Let's go. I'll take you home."

Huo Lingxiao, nearly overwhelmed by anger, struggled to keep his voice steady, trying to suppress the storm brewing inside him. He tugged at the feisty girl in front of him, ready to leave.

"Wait, wait, hold on! Mister, I don't know which family you're from, but I have important things to do tonight. I can't leave with you just yet." Once Yuvyuv realized the man posed no real threat, she bravely reached out and grabbed his firm arm.

"What, haven't had enough fun yet? Want to keep playing around?"

Huo Lingxiao was so furious he almost ripped off his Ghost King Mask. He wanted to grab this little troublemaker and give her a few firm smacks to vent his anger. This disobedient little fox.

One day, I'll have to deal with you properly.

Huo Lingxiao thought, fuming.

Yuvyuv put on a pitiful face, thinking, "Who is this guy? Which family is he from? I need to make sure I steer clear of them from now on."

She played innocent, trying to win him over.

Ten minutes later.

Finally, under the watchful gaze of the man standing five steps behind her, like an invisible barrier of cold air, Yuvyuv managed to convince him. She promised to complete her tasks within his sight and then obediently go home with him.

Uh, no, no, it was him escorting her back to the Ye family.

Ye Yuvyuv felt like tonight was just not her night.

How did she end up running into such a meddlesome guy?

It was like the Ghost King himself was out prowling the mountains at midnight and caught her, a little troublemaker, in the act. With a mighty roar, he had her cornered.

Ugh!

Ye Yuvyuv held a glass of red wine in her hand, the chilling warning from the big guy drifting past her ear, "Young ladies shouldn't drink."

Alright, alright, she blinked back tears, quickly indicating she was just pretending to drink.

The two communicated silently, their lips moving without a trace, exchanging words within a five-step distance without drawing any attention.

The scene was terrifying, like a secret meeting between spies.

Ye Yuvyuv was beyond frustrated.

She wondered if the sinister woman at home who set her up would have the guts to approach now. Surely, the person lurking in the shadows would be scared off by the icy, murderous glare from the Ghost King five meters behind her.

Just as Ye Yuvyuv was caught in this internal struggle, a man dressed in a tailcoat and gray mask, styled like a Western gentleman, approached.

With a glass of brandy in hand, he moved gracefully to her side, his voice smooth and rich like a cello, "Yuvyuv, is that you? You look stunning tonight."

Ye Yuvyuv turned her head, her elegant neck like a graceful swan, embodying the phrase, "A beauty's glance, with charming smiles and captivating eyes."

Even with a nine-tailed fox mask, her lively amber eyes and exquisite figure couldn't be hidden. Just the slight lift of her delicate wrist painted a perfect picture of beauty.

Beautiful, truly beautiful. With the allure of a nine-tailed fox mask, Ye Yuvyuv was mesmerizing, almost otherworldly. Her beauty was so enchanting that any man would be captivated by her.

The man in the tuxedo was clearly entranced by Ye Yuvyuv's ethereal beauty. His eyes, which usually reflected the refined elegance of high society, now betrayed an undeniable, base desire.

Ye Yuvyuv stared intently at the man in the tuxedo. Even with his face obscured by a mask, she would recognize this scoundrel anywhere. Her entire body went cold.

She glared at him, memories of past madness flashing through her mind like an old black-and-white film. Her spine was rigid, and her hands clenched tightly at her sides, nails digging into her palms without feeling the pain. Her face, hidden beneath her mask, had turned a ghostly pale.

Her once bright eyes now held a chilling, bloodthirsty intensity, a storm of red swirling in their depths. Ye Yuvyuv was in a strange state.

From five steps away, Huo Lingxiao watched the little woman intently. Initially angered by her sudden focus on another man, he quickly sensed something was wrong.

His heart jolted, and he cursed under his breath, "Damn it!"

He strode over, wrapping an arm around Ye Yuvyuv's unnaturally stiff waist, shielding her eyes with his hand. In a low voice, he said, "Let's go, kid."

"Excuse me... wait a minute, sir. Do you know this lady? If not, please let her go immediately, or else..."

The man in the tuxedo was startled by the sudden appearance of a tall man. Seeing that the man was about to take away the enchanting woman in front of him without saying a word, he immediately shouted a stern warning. His voice was so loud that it brought a momentary hush to the otherwise noisy ballroom.

However, the surrounding crowd, mostly drunk, quickly resumed their laughter and dancing. Huo Lingxiao had no patience for the pretty boy behind him. He needed to get the girl in his arms out of there; she was clearly shaken.

The girl's condition couldn't handle too much stress. If something triggered her, she would become overwhelmed with a dangerous urge, seeing everyone around her as a threat. It was a kind of madness. Huo Lingxiao couldn't let anyone find out, or rumors would destroy her.

But the pretty boy behind them was oblivious. The man in the tuxedo watched the tall man quickly leave with Ye Yuvyuv, intimidated by the tall man's imposing presence. Yet, he thought that in such a public place, no matter how tough the man was, he wouldn't dare do anything drastic.

The tuxedoed man's first thought wasn't about rescuing Ye Yuvyuv but whether the tall man might hurt him. If Ye Yuvyuv were conscious, she would surely spit in his face and call him a coward, a spineless dog, and maybe even add, "Scumbag."

The man in the tuxedo foolishly chased after them, shouting at the tall man's retreating back, "Sir, I demand you put the lady down immediately. She's not someone you can just take away..."
