C67 The True King the Ghost King in the Dark Night!

"Bang!"

With a swift motion, Huo Lingxiao finally lost his patience and landed a punch on the annoying guy behind him, who was like a pesky little dog.

Huo Lingxiao was a soldier, a battle-hardened veteran who had truly faced life and death. His fighting skills were as lethal as a demon's. Countless enemies had fallen at his hands, and his punch was not something an ordinary person could withstand.

The man in the tuxedo was knocked down by the punch, gasping for breath. It wasn't until he coughed up blood that he realized he was still alive.

Having narrowly escaped death, the man in the tuxedo looked terrified, trembling all over, his lips turning blue with fear. He didn't dare make a sound, because Huo Lingxiao's cold, piercing gaze was fixed on him as if he were already a dead man.

Terrified, the man in the tuxedo quickly lowered his eyes and clamped his mouth shut, not even daring to groan in pain. He was afraid that the terrifying man might actually kill him.

Huo Lingxiao tightened his grip on Ye Yuvyuv, who had been knocked out by a single chop. Ignoring the chaos and screams behind him, he picked her up. His aura was as chilling and formidable as the Ghost King mask he wore, exuding a coldness that warned others to stay away. He strode toward the exit of the ballroom.

In that short distance, no one dared to step in his way.

Who would be foolish enough to try?

No one missed the sight of the terrifying man who had just punched the tuxedoed guy half to death. No one dared to approach him, not even the wealthy heirs and heiresses. After all, no one wanted to die.

Anyone with a keen eye could see that the aura surrounding this man was something only a soldier could possess—a true warrior who had seen blood, been to battle, and wielded a sword against enemies.

So, no one dared to foolishly risk their life by stepping forward, unless they were tired of living and wanted to meet their end tonight. But here, it was just a bunch of spoiled brats who only knew how to eat, drink, and have fun. None of them would risk their lives and miss out on more parties. So, no, no one dared to step forward and stop him.

That man was a true king, the Ghost King from the shadows, untouchable and beyond the reach of mere mortals.

Late at night.

Inside a military jeep.

Yuvyuv slowly woke up.

"Little one, awake?" A familiar scent of a man's crisp cigar wafted close to Yuvyuv's face.

Yuvyuv snapped to full consciousness, looking up to meet a pair of dark, captivating eyes in the dimly lit car. She hesitated, "You, Sixth Master?"

She was a bit confused about the situation, her head spinning. She tried to shake it off and suddenly felt something was off. Her hand reached for her neck, "Ouch, that hurts."

Who hit her? Otherwise, why would the back of her neck be so painfully sore?

Wait, wasn't she at a masquerade ball? Where was she now?

She tried to prop herself up, and as she did, her small hand pressed against firm muscles. "Uh!"

Yuvyuv's hand recoiled as if burned, quickly pulling back, not daring to press down again. Oh no, she accidentally touched the man's leg.

Only then did she realize her entire body was being held by a man shrouded in darkness, his expression unreadable.

Their position made her feel intensely embarrassed, her voice trembling slightly, "Let me down. Why am I in your car?"

She tried to push herself up, her words a mix of questioning and frustration.

She started to remember something. It seemed she had been knocked out by someone—a man wearing a Ghost King mask who suddenly appeared at the ball.

The man—she wondered if he might be a cousin or something.

“Sir, can I sit up by myself?” Yuvyuv tried to move but felt weak and exhausted. She cautiously glanced up at Huo Lingxiao, whose expression was hard to read.

This guy was acting so strange, staying silent for so long. What was he thinking? Yuvyuv didn’t have time to figure him out; she had a mess to deal with, thanks to that man in the Ghost King mask. He knocked her out and took her away from the party because...

As the thought crossed her mind, her face turned pale. Her small hand clenched instinctively, and suddenly, Huo Lingxiao's cold, deep voice broke the silence above her. “Who are you thinking about? In my arms, and you dare think of another man? Have I spoiled you too much, letting you forget your place?”

“What? What?” Yuvyuv was startled by his sudden, chilling voice. Her eyes, still a bit watery from just waking up, blinked in confusion, giving her an adorably clueless look.

The anger on Huo Lingxiao's handsome face softened slightly at her innocent expression. With a swift motion, he pulled her onto his lap, his breath warm against her ear. “Girl, you’re bold. Have you forgotten the rules I set for you, hmm?”

“What rules? And why should I follow your rules? Who do you think you are to me?” Yuvyuv, still groggy from sleep, blurted out without thinking.

Quickly, the man’s strong hand gripped her face, making it impossible for her to turn away.

She could only be forcefully compelled by the man, meeting his cold gaze as he said in a deep voice, "What, have you already forgotten your status as a suspect? Hmm, did that contract you signed for me slip your mind?"

Thud!

Ye Yuvyuv was suddenly wide awake. She remembered that just yesterday, she had been released back home by this man. The condition for her release from that dark room was signing a contract that was utterly devoid of any human rights. It was a contract of complete humiliation, signed while she was completely unaware and asleep, with the man forcibly pressing her fingerprint onto it like a bandit.

In short, she was coerced into signing it.

Ye Yuvyuv opened her mouth, wanting to shout that she didn’t acknowledge it, that she was forced. But the man's icy glare froze her into submission, and she meekly said, "I was wrong, I won’t dare again. Sixth Master, please forgive this little woman just this once?"

She tilted her face up, her big, innocent eyes blinking obediently, all the while cursing this bastard of a devil leader in her heart a thousand times over. This tyrant!

"What’s this? Suddenly so obedient, are you secretly cursing me in your heart?" Huo Lingxiao raised an eyebrow, smiling charmingly as he saw through the little fox's facade.
