C87 Poison One to Death!

Huo Lingxiao knew the medicine Uncle Qian provided could only temporarily suppress the girl's symptoms, not cure them. Her condition was more severe than he had imagined, and if they didn't find a solution soon, the consequences could be dire. He was determined not to let her suffer any harm or danger.

Huo Lingxiao sat deep in thought, his eyes intense, as he was enveloped in the darkness of the car late at night.

Early the next morning, when Ye Yuvyuv got up, freshened up, and was ready to leave with Little White and Little Black, she intended to say goodbye to Elder Qian. However, Elder Qian stopped her.

"One night's stay, plus meals, is a hundred bucks. Pay up before you leave—no credit!" Elder Qian, holding his beloved cat, sat firmly in the front yard, unapologetically demanding payment.

Ye Yuvyuv was taken aback. "A hundred bucks? Elder Qian, are you robbing me?" She had only stayed one night, and now he was demanding a hundred bucks, plus meals. Besides, she hadn't eaten a single grain of rice. This was outrageous.

"I don't care. You stayed here for a night, and that's a hundred bucks. No pay, no leaving," Elder Qian insisted, dropping the pretense of being blind. During the days when Huo Lingxiao had left Ye Yuvyuv there, she had already seen through his act.

Whether he pretended or not didn't matter anymore. This girl would likely visit often, and it was only a matter of time before she found out. However, Elder Qian didn't realize that Ye Yuvyuv had known all along that his blindness was an act. If he did, he might have been even more exasperated, feeling tricked by the mischievous girl.

"No way, no money. If you want money, I don't have it. If you want my life, that's all I've got."

Yuvyuv suddenly turned mischievous, her big eyes twinkling as she flashed a cheeky grin at Elder Qian.

"What are you plotting now, you little rascal? Smiling like a cat that got the cream?" Elder Qian eyed the young girl in front of him, her mischievous eyes making him uneasy. He was beginning to regret agreeing with Sixth Boy to let this troublemaker stay here.

"Hey, Elder Qian, you haven't forgotten that I still owe you a thousand bucks, right?" Yuvyuv pointed at Little White and Little Black. "Remember, I borrowed that money to buy them?"

Elder Qian's temper flared at the mention of the debt. "Yuvyuv, you little con artist, you promised you'd pay me back. You borrowed a thousand bucks from me, and I haven't seen a single dollar of it."

Yuvyuv felt a pang of guilt but kept her chin up defiantly. "So, if you keep charging me a hundred bucks a night for staying here, you might just never see that thousand bucks again."

She gave Elder Qian a wicked smile, thinking her idea wasn't half bad. "How about this, Elder Qian? Consider that thousand bucks a generous donation. Don't worry, I'll remember your kindness."

Elder Qian was so angry he nearly jumped. This little rascal was definitely Mingyuan's kid, with that same cheeky attitude. He was tempted to kick her out right then and there.

But as he watched the lively girl in front of him, he remembered what Sixth Boy had said about her terrifying episodes. He couldn't bring himself to send her away just yet.

After a moment of thought, Elder Qian suddenly fell silent, then shot Yuvyuv a furious glare before turning away, as if too upset to see her any longer. He headed to the backyard to tend to his herb garden, leaving Yuvyuv puzzled.

What had gotten into Elder Qian? It wasn't like him to get upset so easily and stop talking. Yuvyuv wondered if she had gone too far and made him really angry, feeling a bit guilty about it.

With this guilt weighing on her, she prepared to leave the yard with Little White and Little Black, planning to catch a ride back to town. But soon, Yuvyuv was fuming.

"Elder Qian, you tricked me!" she exclaimed after pacing the yard dozens of times, unable to take a single step out the gate. It finally dawned on her that Elder Qian had quietly set up an illusion.

The path to the gate looked straightforward, but no matter how many steps she took, it felt like she was trapped in a strange loop. The gate always appeared in front of her, yet she could never reach it, as if she were walking in place.

It was like encountering a ghostly wall from folklore, terrifying to those unaware. At night, someone might think they'd seen a ghost and be scared to death. But Yuvyuv knew this wasn't some ghostly trick; it was a real application of mystical arts.

If anyone else had such skills, it would be a rare feat, except for a true descendant of the Tang Sect. And Elder Qian, whose real name was Tang Deqian, was indeed a genuine heir of the Tang Sect.

This little illusion before her was child's play for him.

Ye Yuvyuv had learned a lot from Elder Qian over the years. In her past life, he was like a mentor to her, teaching her many of the Tang Sect's secret arts. She had mastered his lessons in poison-making so well that even Elder Qian was amazed at how she surpassed him. However, when it came to the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams, she was completely clueless. This was a source of frustration for Ye Yuvyuv.

She would rather be locked up by Elder Qian, as his lock-picking skills were truly exceptional. She had a penchant for extreme skills like poison-making and lock-picking. To her, these Tang Sect techniques were incredibly useful. Poison-making was a hobby; if someone annoyed her, she could take care of them with ease. As for lock-picking, well, she initially learned it just to escape. But every time she tried, some infuriating man would catch her within half a day and drag her back.

Thinking of that twisted demon, Ye Yuvyuv shivered. By midday, exhausted and out of breath, she finally gave in and shouted, "Elder Qian, I give up! I'll pay the hundred bucks you asked for."

Though she admitted defeat, she couldn't help but curse inwardly, "Elder Qian is the real con artist here."

Elder Qian appeared with a leisurely cough, twirling his mustache with a grin. "You little rascal, thought you could outsmart an old man like me, huh? Now you see how formidable I am!"
