C90 Ye Mingyuan's Ruthless Decision!
“Dad, are you okay?” Yuvyuv thought she might have gone too far; she shouldn’t have pushed her dad about money.
She got carried away and forgot.
Her dad was as tight as they come, holding onto money like a dragon guarding its treasure, never wanting to spend a dime.
She had blurted out that she spent a thousand dollars on a wolf, well, a wolf cub.
Yuvyuv was worried her dad might lose control and accidentally hurt himself.
She quickly reassured him, “Dad, don’t worry, I didn’t spend a thousand dollars on just one...”
“How much did you spend then?”
Ye Mingyuan put down the gun, clutching his aching chest, and anxiously looked at his daughter, “A hundred, ten, one...”
Yuvyuv hesitated, “Uh, well, Dad, two wolves for a thousand, five hundred each.”
“Bang!”
Another sound echoed.
Luckily, it wasn’t a gunshot this time; Ye Mingyuan had tossed the gun aside and collapsed onto the study floor.
Yuvyuv wanted to kick herself for being too honest.
This little family drama in the Ye household.
It paused with Little White temporarily confined to a small room in the backyard.
That evening, Yuvyuv was summoned to the study by her dad.
She first peeked through a crack in the door, feeling guilty, trying to see if her dad was still mad at her.
Suddenly, Ye Mingyuan’s voice boomed, “What are you sneaking around for at the door? Get in here!”
Ye Mingyuan stood with his hands behind his back at the large desk, staring out at the dark, stormy sky, feeling a heavy weight on his chest.
His precious daughter was really giving him a headache.
He wanted to ask her, “Can’t you just take it easy for a couple of days and act like a proper young lady, just to make your dad happy?”
But he couldn’t ask; it would be pointless, and she’d just end up frustrating him even more.
Without needing much thought, Ye Mingyuan could already imagine how his daughter would respond. She'd likely tilt her innocent eyes upward, blinking like a pure little rabbit, but with a sly fox-like glint, and ask, "Dad, what's a lady? Is it something tasty?"
Ye Yuvyuv stuck out her tongue playfully and walked in with a charming smile, saying, "Dad, I was wrong. Please don't be mad, okay?"
"Oh, my daughter Erya is actually admitting her mistake on her own. Is the sun rising in the west today?" Ye Mingyuan turned around, giving his daughter a stern look.
Ye Yuvyuv grinned cheekily, thick-skinned as ever.
She stepped closer to the desk, pointed out the window at the dark, cloudy sky, and said with a serious smile, "Dad, it's already dark outside. The sun went home to sleep a long time ago."
Ye Mingyuan's face turned stern at her words.
Suddenly, he pulled a piece of paper from the desk drawer and pushed it in front of Ye Yuvyuv, sighing helplessly, "Fine, it's my fault for spoiling you all these years, making you lack discipline..."
Hearing this, Ye Yuvyuv sensed something was off.
She placed her small hand on the paper but didn't rush to read it. Instead, she looked up at her father, waiting for him to continue.
Ye Mingyuan avoided his daughter's bright eyes and went on, "Three days ago, Sixth Boy came to me with a suggestion. I think he was right. I've been too lenient with you over the years. You're not a little kid anymore; you're a young lady. If I keep indulging you like this... I'm afraid you'll become too reckless. If you get into trouble that even I can't protect you from, it would be my fault."
At this moment, Ye Mingyuan's face showed an unprecedented depth of reflection and seriousness. He turned to look steadily at Ye Yuvyuv.
Yuvyuv felt a sudden jolt of panic, thinking, "Oh no."
Before she could say anything, her father, Mingyuan, announced seriously, "Erya, I've agreed with Sixth Boy to send you to the military hospital for training. You'll start with the basic soldier training."
"No, Dad!" Yuvyuv almost screamed.
Her voice was so sharp that it hurt her own ears. The news was terrifying for her. Once again, Huo Lingxiao had schemed to send her to the military hospital. Just like before, she would be treated like a rookie, thrown into military training before officially starting at the hospital.
It was too scary!
She didn't need to guess; if things followed the same path as before, Huo Lingxiao would keep her by his side, personally training her. That man was notorious for his intense, almost sadistic training methods, earning him the nickname "Demon Instructor." She knew all too well.
She had been tormented enough by that jerk in the past. Oh God, does she have to go through it again? She would lose her mind.
Mingyuan saw his beloved daughter's face turn pale with fear, and he felt a pang of guilt. But remembering what Sixth Boy had told him about her, he made a firm decision, "Erya, I've made up my mind. You're eighteen now, and while I can spoil you in some things, this is not negotiable. Going to the military hospital is final."
With that, Mingyuan waved her off, "Alright, go to your room and think it over."
His demeanor was more serious and resolute than ever, which frightened Yuvyuv.
She blinked her red-rimmed eyes, hoping her father would relent. But he was determined this time, turning his back on her, refusing to even look at her.
Yuvyuv was utterly heartbroken and called out to her father’s retreating figure, “Dad, you don’t love me anymore.” With that, she wiped her face with her small hand and ran out.
As she reached the doorway, she bumped into someone. Looking up, she saw the Second Concubine clearly eavesdropping outside the door. Yuvyuv, already upset, decided to take it out on her and deliberately stomped hard on the Second Concubine’s foot.
A sharp scream echoed as the Second Concubine cried out, “Sir, look at Yuvyuv! How has she become so fierce? Oh, my foot, she nearly broke it!”
The Second Concubine had been secretly listening, shocked that Mingyuan was willing to send his daughter to the military. Though it was a military hospital, it was still on a base, meant for treating soldiers. It wasn’t like a local hospital; the rules were strict, and any mistakes were dealt with according to military law.
Inwardly pleased, the Second Concubine thought perhaps Yuvyuv was falling out of favor with the master. She decided to seize the opportunity to badmouth Yuvyuv to Mingyuan. With this in mind, she exaggerated her cries of pain.
“Get out!” Suddenly, a teacup was hurled from the study, landing squarely on the foot Yuvyuv had just stomped on as the Second Concubine stepped into the room.
