C93 Ye Yuvyuv's Suggestion!

"Big Sis!" Yuvyuv suddenly cried out, her face turning pale as she stared intently at her sister, uttering a name, "Is that... Wen Shixing?"

Yuvyuv's grip on her sister's arm tightened unconsciously. Nianci felt the pain but nodded silently, "Yes, Wen Shixing, your music teacher."

Thud! Mingyuan's cup suddenly slipped from his hand onto the coffee table. Some tea splashed out, spreading across the glass surface, leaving a stain.

The Third Concubine quickly grabbed a cloth to wipe the tea, glancing around nervously but wisely kept silent. The Fourth Concubine, sitting at a distance, lifted her eyes briefly before lowering them again, as if she had no stake in the matter.

The Fifth Concubine, however, approached with concern. "Big Sis, I don't agree with him coming to our house," Yuvyuv suddenly spoke sharply, her voice a bit shrill.

Mingyuan, who was about to ask more, was startled. "What's wrong, Yuvyuv? Why don't you want your sister to invite him over? Isn't he your music teacher?"

Yuvyuv remained silent, her face cold, staring at her sister without a word.

"Yuvyuv!" Nianci looked at her pale-faced sister and suddenly regretted agreeing to let him visit. She had been hesitant, knowing that because of him, her relationship with her sister had become strained.

But that day, he had confessed his feelings so passionately, even holding her hand. She wanted to pull away, but he wouldn't let go until she agreed, saying he would never let go otherwise.

It happened at school, and she feared being seen by colleagues and students, so she reluctantly agreed to his request. He said he cared for her and would treat her well forever. While she felt happy, something seemed missing, which made her hesitate. Adding to her uncertainty was the fact that Yuvyuv seemed to like him too, which only made Nianci more indecisive.

If he hadn't been so eager to hold her hand, she wouldn't have agreed to it.

Nianci is someone who keeps her promises; once she agrees to something, she won't easily go back on her word. That's why they're in this situation now.

"Big Sis, are you really going to bring him to our house?" Yuvyuv asked, her face pale as she looked steadily at Nianci. Her face was unusually white, almost lifeless, and her small hands were cold to the touch.

Nianci was startled by her sister's appearance and quickly grasped her icy hands, shaking her head. "I won't invite him, Yuvyuv. I won't. Please don't be upset, okay?"

Nearby, Mingyuan watched his daughters and suddenly remembered something. He recalled that when the two girls went to visit their grandfather in the city, they had a falling out over something. Even on the day they boarded the train, his younger daughter was still giving her sister the cold shoulder.

Could it have been because of this guy, Wen Shixing?

Mingyuan, with a father's intuition and the keen insight of a Finance Secretary, had never met Wen Shixing but immediately sensed that he wasn't a good influence. Anyone who could capture the attention of both his daughters was either a smooth talker or a troublemaker. Neither type was suitable for his girls.

Mingyuan's eyes darkened as he sat there, his face stern and silent, already contemplating the situation.

The atmosphere in the living room was tense. Suddenly, Yuvyuv spoke up, "Big Sis, I'm not against you inviting him over. But I think bringing him to our house is a bit much. After all, you've only been teaching at the new school for a few days. You're not that close to him yet, and inviting him alone might raise eyebrows with the other teachers."

Yuvyuv's sudden suggestion left both Nianci and Mingyuan a bit surprised. Nianci opened her mouth, ready to say something.

Yuvyuv interrupted with a smile, "Big Sis, why not invite him to the tea house and bring Dad along?"

"Yuvyuv, you..." Nianci was a bit taken aback. What was her sister up to?

Instead of replying to her sister, Yuvyuv turned to Mingyuan with a cheerful expression, "Dad, are you free on Sunday? The Rising Sun Tea House has great tea, and I remember you enjoy it. They also have some nice tunes there. Why don't we all go together?"

"Uh, Yuvyuv, this is..." Mingyuan was puzzled by his daughter's suggestion. She wanted her sister to take the male colleague, originally meant to visit their home, to the tea house instead? And she wanted him to come along too?

Mingyuan felt something was off.

"Dad, I'm inviting you for tea. Are you not coming?" Yuvyuv asked again with a smile. Her previously pale face softened with her grin. However, her eyes, though smiling, carried an inexplicable chill that made anyone meeting her gaze feel uneasy.

The Second Concubine wanted to say something but was silenced by Yuvyuv's sharp glance, freezing her words in her throat.

Mingyuan thought it over and decided his daughter's suggestion was a good one. It avoided the misunderstanding of having Wen Shixing visit their home, which might be seen as a matchmaking attempt. Plus, under the guise of Yuvyuv's tea invitation, he could discreetly check out this Wen Shixing character.

In his mind, Mingyuan had already marked Wen Shixing with a big red X. However, he needed to understand the guy's background before advising his eldest daughter to keep her distance.

As they say, if you're going to do something, do it right. So, Ye Mingyuan immediately agreed with his daughter Erya's idea.

The Second Concubine stood anxiously nearby, clearly wanting to speak up several times. But each time, she was either silenced by Ye Yuvyuv's cold, piercing glare or interrupted by the Third Concubine. As a result, she didn't manage to get a word in before Ye Mingyuan left.

Seeing Ye Yuvyuv and her sister Ye Nianci heading upstairs together, the Second Concubine quickly stepped forward to block their path. She looked at Ye Yuvyuv with a hint of reproach and said, "Yuvyuv, it's not like I'm trying to criticize you, but your big sister rarely brings friends over. How could you let her take them to a café instead? That's not appropriate."

The Second Concubine seemed to be defending Ye Nianci, saying, "Look at your big sister. She's always so considerate and caring towards you. You're eighteen now, practically an adult. You can't just let your whims get in the way of your sister making friends."

Seeing that Ye Yuvyuv remained silent, the Second Concubine assumed she had hit the mark. She continued, feigning seriousness, "Yuvyuv, you need to be more understanding. Your sister had already promised her friends they'd come over. Canceling like this makes her seem unreliable. They might get upset and never want to hang out with her again."
