C98 Did I Spoil You too Much Recently?
Tom understood clearly that once the young master completed his training, someone from the manor would be sent to bring him back. If by then, the young master really decided to take Miss Ye back with him, keeping her as a companion might be acceptable. However, it was evident from the young master's demeanor that his feelings for Miss Ye were far from ordinary; they were possessive and intense.
At that moment, Tom was shocked to see the fierce and almost obsessive possessiveness in the young master's striking blue eyes. "Oh no, the young master has truly fallen for Miss Ye," Tom worried silently.
Henry stood coldly in place, watching the military vehicle disappear around the corner, his handsome face pale and icy. He scoffed, "Are you talking about my grandfather? If he tries to stop me, I'll just hand everything at the manor over to my brother. I've never wanted to be the heir; it was always my grandfather's idea."
"Young master!" Tom exclaimed in alarm, his expression changing rapidly. He glanced around quickly and stepped forward to whisper urgently, "How can you say such things out loud?"
"Why wouldn't I dare? My mother was innocent back then. Just because her family fell from grace, my father had to marry that vile woman to be my stepmother?" Henry's face turned white as he glared fiercely into the distance.
His blue eyes were like a midnight ocean storm, threatening to swallow everything alive in the dark. His presence was as terrifying as icy, devouring seawater, exuding a madness and chill from the deep sea.
If Ye Yuvyuv were to see Henry like this, she would surely run far away, wanting nothing to do with him. At this moment, Henry was a dangerous man, and Ye Yuvyuv had no interest in men who carried an air of danger. Whenever she sensed a man was too dangerous, she would avoid him, and if she couldn't, she would think of ways to escape—just like with Huo Lingxiao.
"Sir, please calm down. We're surrounded by the Earl's men," Tom said, almost on the verge of tears.
Ignoring the risk of angering Henry, Tom grabbed his arm and led him toward the nearby car. Once inside, Tom finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Sir, even if you truly like Miss Yuvyuv, you should at least find out if she feels the same way. Right now, you're just caught up in your emotions, but Miss Yuvyuv might not..."
"I never cared whether Little Yuvyuv has feelings for me or not. As long as I like her, that's all that matters," Henry replied with a cold, twisted smile.
Tom was anxious. "But sir, what if Miss Yuvyuv has someone she likes? And her father is the Finance Secretary of Haicheng. I've heard he's quite traditional and might not approve of you."
"Her father? I like Little Yuvyuv, not her father," Henry scoffed dismissively.
Tom had a bad feeling. "Sir, you wouldn't force her, would you? This is Haicheng, and I'm not trying to discourage you, but you might not be able to compete with him."
Tom hadn't wanted to provoke Henry. Earlier, he had caught a glimpse of a man in a car at the street corner. Even from a distance, the presence of the man inside was intimidating and commanding.
That man was none other than Huo Lingxiao, known as the Sixth Master. He's the most feared figure in the region, ruthless and holding immense military power, with a terrifyingly arrogant nature.
Tom glanced at Henry, knowing full well that Henry was no match for him. Even though Henry came from a noble French lineage, here, in this part of the world, that status meant little.
The military government controlled by the Huo family is formidable, and the young master is no match for them in terms of power and tactics. Tom couldn't just stand by and watch the young master make a grave mistake.
Ignoring the murderous look in the young master's eyes, Tom advised, "Sir, in this city, there are plenty of young ladies like Miss Yuvyuv. You don't need to focus on her alone. Right now, you're just captivated by her novelty, but that might fade in a few days. There are many noble young women here who are just as charming."
"But I only want Little Yuvyuv!" Henry's voice was cold and haunting, like it emerged from an icy abyss. His tone was chilling and disturbingly intense.
Hearing this, Henry felt a shiver run down his spine as he glanced at the young master, a sense of unease creeping in.
...
On the streets of the city, a military vehicle was speeding recklessly, as if the driver had floored the gas pedal. It swerved wildly, deliberately navigating through narrow alleys with reckless abandon.
Ye Yuvyuv clung tightly to the car door handle, her petite frame tossed around with each wild turn, nearly thrown out the window. She was terrified.
Her wide eyes were filled with panic, and finally, she screamed, "Huo Lingxiao, you maniac! Stop the car! What are you trying to do?"
Suddenly, the speeding car came to an abrupt halt, as if responding to her scream. There was no warning, no gradual slowing down—just a harsh slam on the brakes.
The tires screeched against the pavement, the piercing sound grating on the ears and sending a jolt of fear through anyone who heard it. The car shuddered to a stop.
Ye Yuvyuv clutched her chest, trying to calm her racing heart, her face pale with fright. She looked up, her voice trembling with anger, "Huo Lingxiao, you jerk! You're insane!"
“Crazy, me?” A voice, raspy like a night owl, pierced the cold night air, as if a dark lord from the shadows had suddenly appeared.
Abruptly, the tall figure of the man, shrouded in darkness, turned to fix his gaze on Yuvyuv in the back seat. The chill of his presence made her instinctively shrink back, her small frame trembling slightly.
Without meaning to, driven by an innate fear of the man before her, she hugged her arms tightly around herself. Yet, her large eyes defiantly stared back at him.
Coldly, the man reached out and gripped her delicate chin, applying just enough pressure to make his point. His voice was icy, “Little thing, have I been too lenient with you lately? Is that why you dare test my patience, hmm?”
Yuvyuv mustered the last of her courage, glaring at him, trying to twist her face away from his grasp. But his grip was like iron, and as she moved, pain shot through her, bringing tears to her eyes. “Huo Lingxiao, don’t push me too far. When have I ever dared to test your patience? Every time, haven’t I just let you have your way with me?”
