C2 I will Sell You for a High Price
Hospital.
Tong Fu had a brush with death and woke up groggily to the sound of her father's voice.
"Fenng Yun, I honored the marriage agreement I made with your father by bringing my precious daughter to you, and this is how you treat her? She's my only daughter. If anything happens to her..."
Fenng Yun waved his hand impatiently. "Enough with the act. If you truly cared about your daughter, you wouldn't have sent her to me. Name your price. How much do you want?"
"How can you speak to me like that? I'm your future father-in-law!" Tong Haoyuan raised his voice.
"Your illegitimate son got into trouble again, didn't he? Stop pretending to be so noble." With that, Fenng Yun pulled out a check.
"Twenty million. My daughter is yours. Her fate is no longer my concern," Tong Haoyuan said.
With a few swift strokes, Fenng Yun filled out the check and handed it over.
Then he took a recorder from his pocket, pressed a button, and looked at Tong Haoyuan. "I've recorded our conversation. Don't show up in front of me again."
Tong Haoyuan's eyes lit up at the sight of the check. He carefully tucked it into his pocket without even glancing at his daughter lying in the hospital bed, and turned to leave.
Fenng Yun turned around and saw tears streaming down her face.
"You're awake. Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"
She didn't respond, clenching her hands tightly.
He pulled a chair up to the bedside and sat down. "The bad news, well, I think you already heard it. Your father sold you to me for two million dollars. Not a bad price for you."
She glared at him, her eyes full of anger, unable to argue back. The transaction of selling his daughter had happened right in front of her. If she hadn't seen and heard it herself, she wouldn't have believed her father could do such a thing.
Seeing her heartbroken expression, a pang of sympathy stirred within him.
"The good news is, I'm not sick, so you haven't been infected."
Tong Fu looked up at him, surprised. "What did you say?"
Fenng Yun picked up the medical report from the table beside him and handed it to her. "This is my health report, and yours too. I've never had that disease. The news was all because I crossed a powerful woman who bought a week's worth of headlines to smear me."
Seeing the medical report, she felt a bit of relief, letting out a quiet sigh.
"In that case, can you... let me go?" Tong Fu asked, her eyes still holding a trace of anger towards him. After all, this jerk had taken her innocence the night before.
"No," he replied coldly.
"Why not? You don't even like me. Staying with you is pointless," she said, her voice tinged with frustration. She tried to sit up, but the pain from her wrist made her wince.
"You still have some use to me. When the time comes, I'll let you go."
Usefulness...
Her eyes dimmed as she stared at the white ceiling, letting out a soft sigh.
After receiving a phone call, he left, leaving a caretaker at the hospital to watch over her. The caretaker was more of a guard, ensuring she didn't escape.
A week later, she was discharged, but during that time, he never visited the hospital. She was taken back to his house.
Her wrist was almost healed, though a dark scar remained. She sat on a lounge chair on the rooftop, gazing into the distance, her thoughts scattered.
"When will he finally let me go?" she murmured, unable to suppress a sigh.
Night fell.
Half-asleep, she felt a hand wandering over her body, her pajama strings being untied, causing a ticklish sensation. Thinking it was just a dream, she drifted back to sleep.
After a while, she felt a chill on her back, as if the blanket had been pulled away. She raised her hand to grab it, but suddenly her wrist was seized—right where she was injured. The grip caused a twinge of pain, prompting her to open her eyes.
In front of her, Fenng Yun's face was less than two inches away, his eyes hazy and fixed on her. The air was tinged with the scent of alcohol.
"What are you doing? Let go!" she struggled, shaking off his hand. She threw off the blanket, trying to escape, only to realize she was completely bare. It wasn't a dream—her pajamas had actually been stripped off!
This jerk!
Suddenly, his large hand swung over, pinning her down. He lowered his head and swiftly captured her lips.
"Mmm..."
She shook her head desperately, trying to resist, but he held her cheeks firmly, prying her mouth open for a fervent kiss. The smell of alcohol on him was intoxicating, and as he kissed her, she felt a bit dizzy. The moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating his face so close to hers. His features were striking, rivaling any movie star.
After a few seconds of being swept away, her sense quickly returned, and she pushed him away.
"Tong Fu, I've got a knife under my pillow. If you try anything funny, we'll both go down together!" she threatened.
The man lying next to her didn't respond. Soon, his steady breathing filled the room.
He... actually fell asleep just like that!
Tong Fu's cheeks flushed slightly, her heart still racing. She gently touched her lips, feeling the lingering warmth from his touch, a strange sensation washing over her. Compared to the roughness of that night, tonight seemed much gentler.
She slipped back into her pajamas and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already past 2 a.m., and she was tired. She lay down to sleep.
Not long after, the man's arm reached over, wrapping around her waist. She was too sleepy to resist, shifting slightly to find a comfortable position before drifting off.
The next morning, she woke up in his arms. As she opened her eyes, he was already awake, staring at her with a piercing gaze.
"What did you do to me?!" Tong Fu exclaimed, quickly pulling away and curling up at the head of the bed. She glanced down at her pajamas, still perfectly in place.
Fenng Yun shook his arm. "Shouldn't I be the one asking questions? You used my arm as a pillow and slept like a log, then wake up acting like I did something wrong. Women really know how to twist things around."
She pursed her lips, looking at him with an innocent expression. "Who told you to come to my bed in the middle of the night?"
"Miss, this is my bedroom, and the whole house is mine. How can you claim it's your bed?" He smirked slightly, pulling back the covers as he got up.
