C3 It Could be Used Day and Night

Tong Fu felt quite wronged, like she was at someone else's mercy with no way out. But there was nothing she could do.

As she changed clothes and headed downstairs, she heard the sound of a car starting—Fenng Yun had left. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief, wishing he wouldn't come back for a whole month.

While having breakfast, her mind wandered to the things her father had said in the hospital. He had always been incredibly loving, especially after her mother left. He would fulfill any request she had.

"I can't believe Dad would sell me out for two million dollars," Tong Fu muttered, clenching her teeth. "I need to get to the bottom of this. Maybe Dad has his reasons."

That evening, while the housekeeper was preparing dinner, Tong Fu sneaked out and ran quite a distance before finally catching a cab.

When she reached her familiar front door, she pressed the doorbell. Mrs. Zhang answered, looking a bit awkward when she saw Tong Fu standing outside.

"Fu, what are you doing back here?"

"Mrs. Zhang, please let me in. I snuck back," Tong Fu urged.

Mrs. Zhang hesitated but eventually opened the door. As soon as Tong Fu stepped inside, she was greeted by a warm, happy scene.

"Dad, have some fruit. I peeled it myself!" A girl about the same age as Fu was feeding her father some fruit. Next to him was a well-dressed middle-aged woman, her arm linked with his. The scene was jarring.

"Fu, what are you doing back?" Tong Haoyuan, who was about to eat the fruit, noticed Fu standing at the door. The two women turned their eyes toward her, filled with hostility.

"Dad, who are they?" Fu asked, her voice trembling.

"Well, Fu, let me introduce you. This is your sister, Yingqing, and this is her mother. You can call her Aunt Jo for now, and maybe Mom once you get to know her better," Tong Haoyuan explained.

"What sister? What Aunt or Mom? Dad, what are you talking about?" Fu's face turned pale, unable to believe what she was hearing.

"But, sister, why are you back all of a sudden? Did Fenng Yun dump you?" Yingqing chimed in.

"Yingqing, don't talk nonsense," Jo Zi scolded, then walked over with a forced smile and took Fu's hand. "Come, have a seat."

"Don't touch me!" Fu yanked her hand away and pointed at her accusingly. "You're the one who drove my mom away, aren't you?"

Qiao Zi awkwardly explained, "Your father and I truly love each other."

Slap!

"You witch!" Tong Fu shouted angrily, striking her across the face.

"Tong Fu, what are you doing?" Tong Haoyuan yelled, rushing forward to check on Qiao Zi.

Tong Yingqing stood up from the couch and shoved Tong Fu hard. "My mom met Dad first. If anything, your mom's the homewrecker!"

"You brat, who do you think you are to talk to me like that?!" Tong Fu raised her hand to strike back, but Tong Haoyuan grabbed her arm firmly.

"Have you had enough?"

"Enough? Are you kidding me? You bring your mistress and her daughter into our home, and I'm supposed to stay quiet? Mom left because of you, and now you want to get rid of me too?" Tong Fu cried out.

"No, Fu, please calm down. Let me explain," Tong Haoyuan said softly.

"Explain what? I heard everything you and Feng Yun said at the hospital. You have another child, don't you? Tong Haoyuan, you're unbelievable!"

Slap!

Tong Haoyuan slapped her across the face, but immediately regretted it. "Fu, come with me. Let me explain everything."

"Dad, look at Mom's face. It's got a handprint on it," Tong Yingqing said, tugging at his sleeve.

Tong Haoyuan quickly turned to check the expression on Qiao Zi's face. At that moment, Tong Fu's mind was buzzing, and she felt a chill run through her entire body.

"First, you drove Mom away, and now you're selling me off to Fenng Yun. Is this so you can openly bring your mistress and illegitimate children into our home? Was this your plan all along? Doesn't your conscience hurt?"

Seeing the three of them standing together, Tong Fu felt like the outsider. They had each other to lean on, but she was all alone, with no one to speak up for her.

"Fu, let's talk outside," Tong Haoyuan suggested, reaching for her hand.

Tong Fu yanked her hand away forcefully. "Enough. From the moment you sold me to Fenng Yun, we have nothing to do with each other."

She turned and left the Tong residence, tears streaming down her face like a faucet that wouldn't shut off. Walking along the roadside, she felt lost, like a wanderer with no destination, and she didn't even have her phone on her.

A car pulled up beside her, and two bodyguards stepped out, grabbing her and pulling her into the vehicle. Shortly after, they arrived at the entrance of Fenng Yun's villa.

Tong Fu sighed, feeling a strange sense of relief. At least they brought her back; otherwise, she wouldn't have known where to stay that night.

The bodyguard dragged Tong Fu in front of Fenng Yun. At that moment, Fenng Yun was in the middle of a meal, and the delicious aroma made Tong Fu's mouth water.

"Tong Fu, you've got some nerve running off without a word!" Fenng Yun put down his chopsticks and looked at her sternly.

She gulped, feeling the pangs of hunger. "My dad brought his mistress home, and now I've cut ties with him. I guess I'm of no use to you anymore. Keeping me around is like taking care of a dead weight," she mumbled.

"Your memory is exceptional, and you've won quite a few awards for it, right?" Fenng Yun asked.

She nodded, acknowledging that her mind was her only asset.

"That's enough. Keeping you here will come in handy someday. Now, let's eat," Fenng Yun said, picking up his chopsticks again.

"Just like that? You might never need me for anything."

"Who says? You'll be useful day in and day out."

Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "What are you thinking? Come over and eat!" Fenng Yun said with a mischievous smile.

She was indeed starving. The table was laden with delicious dishes, and just the smell had made her swallow several times already. With nothing left to lose, she pushed aside her pride, quickly sat down, grabbed the chopsticks, and started eating heartily.

Sitting across from her, Fenng Yun had a gentle smile on his face as he looked at her, then added some vegetables to her bowl.

"Thanks," she said, continuing to eat with a satisfied expression.
