C5 Be My Canary
"Alright, I'll help you." He looked at her with a serious expression.
Tong Fu was a bit taken aback. "Why are you helping me?"
"Can't you just see it as me being nosy? Do I really need a reason?" He let go of her hand, then draped a blanket over her. "Get some sleep."
"Fenng Yun, you're not involved in some organ trafficking business, are you? Keeping me around to sell my organs one by one? I read online that people in desperate need of organs will pay a high price. If you find a buyer like that, you wouldn't be losing out, right?"
Otherwise, she couldn't understand why Fenng Yun kept her around. The excuse of her having a good memory seemed too flimsy, especially since he could hire someone like that for a high salary.
"Miss, your imagination is really something. How about I sponsor you to become a screenwriter? If a movie you write becomes a hit, I'd make millions. Think about it," Fenng Yun said in a serious tone.
"I'm not joking with you. We're not close, and I doubt you'd be interested in someone like me. I have no value to you..."
She furrowed her brows, unable to figure it out.
"Oh, but you do. You just don't need to know the details. If you're scared, you can try running away again, but the outcome will be the same. I'll catch you eventually." Fenng Yun said as he loosened his tie, tossed it aside, and began unbuttoning his shirt.
"Can't you at least wait until you're in the bathroom to take off your clothes?" Tong Fu turned her head, her cheeks flushing involuntarily.
Feng Yun, however, was in the mood to tease her. He moved in front of her, leaving his shirt open. "That night, you saw everything anyway. Why does it matter where I undress now?"
His tone suggested he was the one being taken advantage of.
"You think I wanted to see that?" Tong Fu clenched her fists. "But how long do you plan on keeping me here?"
Feng Yun leaned closer, lifting her chin with his hand, his eyes locked onto hers. "You're the one with nowhere to go. Shouldn't you be begging me to let you stay a bit longer? Why the rush to wander the streets?"
"Roaming the streets is better than being trapped here."
"Then go ahead!"
He released her, reaching for his belt and swiftly pulling it off.
She threw off the blanket and headed barefoot toward the door.
"Tong Fu, are you just going to give up on your revenge?" Feng Yun called out.
She stopped, her brow furrowing deeply.
That despicable woman had first driven her mother away and now had the nerve to move in with her illegitimate children. Tong Fu couldn't swallow this injustice.
"I know there's no such thing as a free lunch. What's the price?" she asked, turning back and biting her lip.
The man stood with a commanding presence, a sharp look in his eyes. "Please me. Stay by my side like a pampered pet and do as you're told."
She understood now. A flattering term would be "kept woman," but less kindly, it was "mistress." In the past, her pride would never have allowed her to fall so low, but times had changed, and she was now like a stray. The man before her had power and influence, and he was the only one who could help her.
"Alright," she hesitated for a moment, then agreed.
"Then what are you waiting for?" he gestured toward the bathroom with a glance.
"I've already showered," she said, nervously tugging at the hem of her dress.
"Help me with mine."
With that, he headed into the bathroom. Tong Fu didn't dare refuse; after all, she needed his help.
Inside the bathroom, she avoided looking at him, awkwardly rubbing a towel over his back, accidentally hitting his head several times. Suddenly, Fenng Yun reached out and pulled her into the tub, a hint of anger in his eyes. "Are you doing this on purpose?!"
"No, I just feel really awkward, I..." she hurried to explain.
With that sudden pull, her thin nightgown was soaked, clinging to her skin. He leaned down and kissed her lips. She initially wanted to push him away, but remembering the deal they had just made, she knew she couldn't act impulsively. So, she obediently closed her eyes.
This kiss was different from before, noticeably gentler. The warm water surrounded her, creating a completely different sensation.
The bathroom was filled with mist, and she felt a bit awkward, unsure where to place her hands. He held her tightly, his breathing deep and heavy, and she found herself getting swept up in the moment, letting out a soft, enticing sound. The wild night was just beginning...
When she woke up the next day, she was still using his arm as a pillow. Opening her eyes, she met his intense gaze and felt a bit flustered.
“Sorry, is your arm okay? Want me to massage it?” Tong Fu offered kindly.
“Sure.” He extended his arm to her.
Tong Fu leaned against the pillow, gently massaging his arm with both hands, muttering, “If you were awake, you could’ve pushed me off. I sleep like a log, wouldn’t even notice if you slapped me. So don’t worry about waking me up; just move your arm if it goes numb.”
“Who cares about your feelings? My arm was too numb to move, that’s why I didn’t pull away,” Fenng Yun replied, retracting his arm. “Alright, go get ready. We’ll head out together in a bit.”
After breakfast, they left the house, catching a quick nap on the way. Their destination was Fenng's Group. Tong Fu stayed close to Fenng Yun as they entered the CEO's office.
News quickly spread throughout the company about the young woman by Fenng Yun's side. It didn’t take long for everyone to learn that she was the Tong family heiress and Director Fenng's fiancée.
Mao Tongtong, who had previously bribed his secretary to keep tabs on his whereabouts, naturally received this news as well. At this moment, she was staring at her phone, looking at a photo sent by Fenng Yun's secretary. It was a picture of Tong Fu and Fenng Yun standing together. From their appearance, they seemed quite compatible, and their heights matched well.
"I didn't expect the woman engaged to him to be quite attractive," Mao Tongtong mused, then promptly forwarded the photo to her brother via text.
"Hey, this is Fenng Yun's fiancée. Can you check her out for me? See if she has any old flames or current flings. The sooner, the better."
Knock, knock, knock!
The door was rapped on.
Mao Tongtong went to open it and found her brother standing outside.
Mao Jiarong waved his phone and said, "I've already looked into her. She's pretty straightforward, hasn't even had a first love, and she's a top student."
"And what else?" Mao Tongtong asked, full of curiosity.
"That's all I know," Mao Jiarong shrugged.
"I don't believe it. Even if she's not as pretty as me, she's still quite good-looking. I can't believe she's never been in a relationship her whole life!"
