C10 And You Are Locked up Again

"Why isn't it suitable?" Liu Meiyun frowned.

To be honest, although she had been arranging things for a while, no one had impressed her as much as the man in front of her. Compared to the others before, Lu Tineyuv was definitely the best. Yet, as soon as she spoke, her daughter and husband both shot her down.

Feeling uncomfortable, Liu Meiyun was about to ask why, but a glance from her husband, Jiang, made her close her mouth. However, Jiang clearly underestimated Liu Meiyun's determination. Though she said nothing more, when Lu Tineyuv was leaving, she quickly pushed Jiang Jingxi forward, saying, "Xi, go see Mr. Lu out!"

Caught off guard, Jiang Jingxi almost bumped into the man. She widened her eyes in surprise and turned to her mom, frowning, "Mom, I..."

Her response was the sound of the door closing firmly in her face.

Jiang Jingxi stared, speechless. Sometimes she really wondered if she was adopted. What kind of mom is so eager to push her daughter out the door?

Feeling helpless, she had no choice but to turn back to Lu Tineyuv, forcing a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "Boss Lu, this way, please."

Noticing her reluctance, Lu Tineyuv raised an eyebrow and suddenly said, "I heard from your dad that you once wanted to join the force, but your mom didn't let you?"

Jiang Jingxi's eyes flashed with caution as she looked at him, wary. "What do you mean?"

She instinctively took a step back. Given the impression this man had left on her before, Jiang Jingxi was sure he wouldn't say something like that without a reason.

Seeing the guarded look on her face, Lu Tineyuv's lips curved into a smile. "What are you afraid of? I just wanted to ask if you're still interested in checking out my team, that's all."

His team. Those words had always held a certain allure for Jiang Jingxi.

At this moment, she let out a cold snort and flatly refused, "No, thanks!"

With that, she deliberately ended the conversation and headed outside.

Her home was one of the earliest planned two-story houses in the city. Though they called them "houses," they were actually just regular homes, differing only in that they had two floors.

The downside was that the houses were very close to each other. The upside was that each had its own entrance and yard, making living there convenient.

The distance from the front door to the gate was about a half-minute walk at a leisurely pace.

Jiang Jingxi, eager to see him off quickly, hurried her steps and reached the front door in no time. When she looked back, Lu Tingyuv was only halfway there.

Suddenly, his previous sarcastic remarks echoed in her mind, and she threw them back at him, "Could you be any slower? If someone were waiting for you to rescue them, they'd be long gone by the time you got there!"

Lu Tingyuv heard her words, aware she was upset, but he remained unfazed, maintaining his steady pace until he reached the door.

Turning his head, his lazy gaze fell on her as he offered an olive branch, "There was a misunderstanding before, and I didn't get to show you around. Consider this my apology."

Jiang Jingxi frowned, "...”

"I'm not going to bite you, so what are you afraid of?" he said sincerely, looking into her eyes. "Besides, I picked you up from your doorstep, and your parents are watching from inside. Do you really think I'd dare do anything to you?"

Jiang Jingxi hesitated, still eyeing him warily, and asked suspiciously, "Are you really being this nice?"

No matter how she looked at him, the man in front of her didn't seem the type to be so kind-hearted.

Lu Tingyuv let out a cold snort, mocking, "I just wanted to express my apology. If you're too scared, then forget it."

With that, he withdrew his gaze and walked out.

However, when Jiang Jingxi heard the words "too scared," she immediately flared up!

"What a joke! Like she'd be scared?"

"Hold on a second!" she shouted, seeing Lu Tineyuv pause. She caught up to him, scoffing, "Who's afraid of who, huh?"

With that, she strutted over to the car with a commanding air and demanded, "Unlock it!"

Lu Tineyuv raised an eyebrow, a quick glint flashing in his eyes. In the next moment, he stepped forward, pressed the handle, and unlocked it with a fingerprint scan.

Jiang Jingxi's eyes widened as she watched him open the door and get in. She quickly followed, taking the passenger seat.

An hour later...

"Lu Tineyuv, you jerk! How dare you trick me!!" her scream echoed from the small dark room.

Jiang Jingxi was absolutely furious! She couldn't believe this man actually dared?!

"Aren't you afraid my dad will come looking for me?!" she yelled.

A soft chuckle came from inside, laced with sarcasm.

Standing outside the small dark room, Lu Tineyuv watched the furious woman inside, his gaze cold and arrogant. "Well, let's see when he gets here!"

"You bastard! I'll kill you!" Jiang Jingxi shouted, her cheeks puffed and flushed with anger, looking just like a... bunny.

The word suddenly popped into Lu Tineyuv's mind. Surprisingly, he found her quite charming like this.

The next second, he let out a cold snort, "Fear isn't in my vocabulary!"

Arrogant. Dominant. Unyielding. That's Lu Tineyuv for you.

Yet, when he said it, no one dared to argue. In fact, everyone secretly agreed with him.

Jiang Jingxi gritted her teeth, "I'll remember this! I won't let you get away with it!"

He dared to scheme against her. He better hope she never gets out, or she'll make him pay!

Her thoughts were written all over her face, and it was obvious to Lu. With a cold snort, he turned around, leaving behind an air of indifference.

Jiang clenched her teeth, watching him leave. Once he was gone, she looked around the small, windowless room and felt deflated. After all her anger, only frustration remained. How could she have fallen for his lies and ended up here?

"How could I be so stupid?" Jiang muttered, giving her head a small thump.

Outside, she heard whispers. Startled, she looked up. The guards had changed, and now two unfamiliar faces stood there, sneaking glances at her and whispering quietly. Their eyes were cautious and wary.

Jiang's eyes lit up with a plan. She approached the door with a slight smile. "Hey there, are you guys looking at me?" she asked, feigning ignorance.

To her surprise, just saying hello made the two guards' faces turn pale, as if they'd seen a ghost. They backed away quickly.

Jiang was speechless. Was she really that scary? But if she wanted to get out, she had to try again. "Hey, you two..."

"Please, ma'am, don't talk to us. No matter what you say, we won't let you go," one of them interrupted firmly.

Jiang frowned, looking innocent. "I wasn't asking you to let me go! I just wanted to ask you something."

"No matter what you ask, we won't answer!" the guard replied resolutely.

The two exchanged a glance and turned to leave. Jiang panicked. "Hey, don't go! I really need to know something!"
