C3 You Can be Flexible

Two young officers exchanged a glance, responding to Jingxi's plea for help, and then promptly looked down in unison. They were just rookies—how could they dare intervene with this man? Besides, the chief wasn't around today, leaving them without a safety net. The crux of the matter was that even if the chief were here, it probably wouldn't make a difference in front of this guy.

Seeing the officers unwilling to help, Jingxi became desperate. As they approached the exit, she raised her voice and shouted, "Help! I'm being kidnapped! Somebody, please help!"

Tingyuv, noticing her renewed vigor, let out a heavy, cold snort. "Go ahead, scream all you want. No one's coming to save you."

Wei Xiu had just stepped out of the building when he heard the commotion and couldn't help but chuckle. This scene really did look like a classic damsel-in-distress scenario. Interesting! But then he remembered that Cold Yama King was supposed to be on official business today. How did he end up taking a girl instead? Knowing Cold Yama King's meticulous nature, there had to be more to this story. With a thoughtful look, Wei Xiu watched the two of them walk away and quickly followed.

By the rugged SUV, Tingyuv yanked open the door, tossed Jingxi inside, and climbed in after her, slamming the door shut. As he leaned over, Jingxi swiftly turned to open the other door, but he grabbed her arm.

"Let go of me!" she struggled immediately. Despite her slender frame, her martial arts training from a young age meant her punches and kicks packed a punch. Tingyuv, caught off guard, took two kicks to the stomach, feeling the sharp pain.

"You're asking for it!" he muttered, quickly grabbing both of Jingxi's arms and pinning them to his chest. He used his legs to trap her flailing ones, finally bringing her to a standstill.

"Let me go!" Jingxi struggled, her face flushed with anger.

Tineyuv glanced at her but remained silent.

"This is kidnapping! It's illegal!" Jingxi continued to struggle when he ignored her.

Just then—

Wei Xiu opened the driver's side door, and his jaw nearly dropped at the scene in the back seat. Was he seeing things? The usually stoic Tineyuv was actually holding someone in his arms?

The intimate posture was enough to make anyone gossip. If the guys back at the station saw this, they'd be buzzing about it for days.

Wei Xiu's eyes darted around before he finally settled into the driver's seat, glancing at the rearview mirror. "Boss, where to?"

The underlying question: Where are we taking her?

Tineyuv frowned, his cold gaze meeting Wei Xiu's curious eyes in the mirror, instantly seeing through his thoughts.

With a cold huff, he replied, "To the station."

"Got it!"

Wei Xiu whistled with excitement, revved the engine, and sped out of the police station onto the road.

Meanwhile, Jingxi had unexpectedly quieted down. She wasn't naive; the situation made it clear that this man wasn't afraid of her father.

Though just a modest photographer, Jingxi knew a bit about the political scene due to her father's connections. This man, appearing to be around 30, had the police officers trembling. He must be someone significant. To reach such a level at his age, his family must be incredibly powerful.

The SUV cruised smoothly down the road, soon leaving the city and heading towards the outskirts.

Jingxi's legs had gone numb from being held for so long. Realizing that resistance was futile, she decided to change tactics.

With a pout, she put on a pitiful expression and looked up at him, "Sir, I didn't kill anyone or set anything on fire. I just hit you once. How about you hit me back and let me out of the car?"

Seeing Lu Tingyuv glance down at her, Jiang Jingxi put on an even more pitiful expression. "Please, be the bigger person and let me off the hook."

Wei Xiu glanced at the rearview mirror, a slight smile playing on his lips. He had been keeping an eye on the backseat and hadn't missed the changing expressions on Jiang Jingxi's face. Before getting into the car, she had been like a little wildcat, all claws and attitude. But now, she seemed to have calmed down, turning into a gentle kitten.

He found it amusing and a bit surprising. This young woman didn't seem particularly special, aside from her youthful appearance, but her ability to adapt was impressive. Wei Xiu couldn't help but wonder if the Cold Yama King had noticed this unique trait, which was why he treated her differently. Interesting!

Lu Tingyuv lowered his gaze, focusing on her pitiful face. Her eyes were bright and clear, almost as if they were shimmering with unshed tears, making them particularly captivating. His Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily, and just then, he caught a subtle, pleasant scent.

In his car, there was never any fragrance. Apart from him and Wei Xiu, only the driver, Liu Qing, and Lee Wan were ever in it—four guys who definitely didn't carry any kind of scent. So, if it wasn't them, then it had to be...

Lu Tingyuv's gaze traveled from Jiang Jingxi's face down to her neckline. Today, she was wearing a white T-shirt with a slightly wide collar, revealing her graceful collarbone and fair skin. He leaned in a bit closer, taking a deep breath to confirm that the scent was indeed coming from her.

Jiang Jingxi watched him move closer, realizing his eyes were fixed on her neckline. She immediately bristled, "You creep!"

Lu Tingyuv frowned and lifted his head, meeting her angry eyes. It was then he realized just how close they were.

He let go of her hand.

The moment Jiang Jingxi was free, she quickly backed away, pressing herself against the car door to keep her distance from him. Her eyes were wary, watching him closely in case he suddenly turned aggressive.

Tingyuv caught the meaning in her eyes, let out a cold snort, and looked at her for a few seconds without saying a word. Silence hung in the car.

After a while, Tingyuv broke the silence, "What's your name?"

Jingxi, feeling annoyed, didn't want to answer him. After a pause, she impulsively retorted, "What do you think my name is?"

"Jane Doe!" Tingyuv replied without a second thought.

"Ha!" Wei Xiu's hand slipped, causing the tires to screech against the road before regaining control.

When he looked up, he met Tingyuv's displeased gaze and gave a wry smile. Was it his fault? He was innocent, after all. Wei Xiu felt like today was surreal, but the oddity wasn't him; it was the certain someone in the back seat.

Half an hour later.

The car finally cruised smoothly into the neighborhood. As soon as they got out, Wei Xiu approached Tingyuv, seeing that Jingxi was still in the car. He quickly and quietly asked, "Boss, what's going on today? Where's the person you were supposed to meet?"
