C5 You Are Really Funny

“Wow, she's really a beauty!”

“And she's got a great figure!”

“I saw the boss touch her hand when he grabbed the gun!”

That last comment sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Lu Tineyuv watched the chaos outside with a darkening expression, his gaze turning icy as he addressed the group, “You all have too much time on your hands, don't you?”

With that command, the crowd instantly fell silent.

“Fifteen-mile endurance run! Get moving!” Lu Tineyuv ordered as punishment.

Fifteen miles...

Jiang Jingxi's eyes widened as she watched the faces that had been flushed with excitement turn pale. She felt a twinge of sympathy.

Turning to Lu Tineyuv, she protested, “Hey, are you a tyrant? They didn’t do anything wrong, so why make them run fifteen miles?”

Meeting her disapproving gaze, Lu Tineyuv smirked, “Make it thirty miles!”

What?!

This jerk!!!

Jiang Jingxi rushed forward to argue, but Lu Tineyuv merely glanced at her dismissively, his contemptuous look only adding fuel to the fire.

The next moment, Lu Tineyuv barked at the door, “Get going already!”

This guy is really pushing it, huh?

Jiang Jingxi quickly turned to the group about to leave, shouting even louder, “Don’t go!”

Yet, not a single one hesitated; they all dispersed.

They completely ignored her.

This crowd is just...

Jiang Jingxi furrowed her brow, suddenly struck by an idea. As the group was nearly gone, she cried out dramatically, “Help! Someone save me from this brute!”

Instantly, those about to leave turned back.

Seeing the effect, Jiang Jingxi's expression shifted seamlessly as she pointed at Lu Tineyuv, loudly accusing, “Don’t be fooled by his serious demeanor! This guy is nothing but a shameless rogue! He knocked me out, harassed me, and then dragged me here!”

Wei Xiu had just walked in when he caught the tail end of a conversation, and his mouth twitched involuntarily.

What’s going on here?

He was only gone for a short while, and now there’s chaos again?

As he was pondering, someone nearby looked at him and asked, “Hey, Captain, is what this girl said true?”

Facing those curious eyes, Wei Xiu’s expression turned icy. “Instead of training, you’re here gossiping? You got a death wish?”

Without giving anyone a chance to argue, Wei Xiu ordered, “Five-mile weighted run! Move it!”

As soon as he said this, the person hesitated, glanced inside, then back at Wei Xiu, and said, “Captain, the boss just said it was fifteen... no, thirty miles with weights!”

“Are we running five miles or thirty?” someone asked.

Wei Xiu frowned, glanced inside, and felt a surge of frustration. These little brats, he was trying to cut them some slack, and they still asked.

Bunch of idiots!

Fuming, Wei Xiu gritted his teeth and shouted, “Get moving!”

Finally, someone smart caught on and started running, dragging the “idiots” along with them.

Seeing this, Wei Xiu let out a small sigh of relief.

But as he lifted his foot to step inside, he felt a sharp gaze pierce through him, accompanied by a stern voice, “Pleading for them, are you planning to cover the miles they didn’t run too?”

Wei Xiu’s heart skipped a beat.

One person skipping twenty-five miles, ten people means two hundred fifty miles... and there were over twenty of them...

Might as well just kill him!

Knowing that Cold Yama King was just venting, Wei Xiu quickly tried to appease him by changing the subject, “Hey, what’s got you so worked up?”

This was, of course, directed at Jiang Jingxi.

Turning, Wei Xiu looked at Cold Yama King and chided, “That’s not right, you should know how to treat a lady with care. Look what you’ve done...”

Before the words were even out, Lu Tineyuv was striding toward the door.

Wei Xiu was taken aback, quickly glanced at Jiang Jingxi, and hurriedly called out, "Where are you going? What about her?"

Without breaking his stride, Lu Tineyuv's cold and arrogant figure matched his voice as he mercilessly uttered, "Lock her up!"

"Jerk!" Jiang Jingxi fumed at his words.

Yet, fifteen minutes later, she found herself forcibly shoved into a small, dark room. No matter how much she cursed, all Lu Tineyuv left her with was his dismissive silhouette.

Wei Xiu watched as the Cold Yama King made decisions with unyielding authority. But who was he? He couldn't just leave without getting to the bottom of today's events.

So, Wei Xiu eagerly followed the Cold Yama King back to the office.

Once the door closed, Wei Xiu plopped down on the desk in front of Lu Tineyuv, scrutinizing him with a pointed look. "I mean, she's just the police chief's daughter. What are you suspicious about?"

Lu Tineyuv lifted his gaze, his dark eyes gleaming with a mysterious light. "You think it's that simple?"

Before Wei Xiu could respond, Lu Tineyuv continued, "Just as I was handling business, she took my car. By the time I caught up, the others had fled. Isn't it all too coincidental?"

"What coincidence? Her dad's a cop. She was just full of righteous zeal trying to catch a couple of robbers. It just so happened she ran into you handling your big case, and your car was conveniently parked by the roadside, so she borrowed it."

Wei Xiu shrugged dismissively, observing the Cold Yama King's stern expression. Suddenly, a smirk played on his lips, and his tone turned teasing, "I think your goal wasn't just the case, but the girl, right? Could it be you're using your position to get close to her, and that's why you came up with this story?"

Tingyuv looked up, meeting the intense curiosity in Wei Xiu's eyes. The two had grown up together and spent nearly every day in each other's company for years. To put it bluntly, Tingyuv knew Wei Xiu so well that he could probably predict what color socks he was wearing today. So, it was no surprise that he could see right through Wei Xiu's little schemes.

With a smirk, Tingyuv let out a cold chuckle but said nothing. Yet, there was something in that smile that Wei Xiu had never seen before.

Wei Xiu's eyes widened in shock, and he shouted, "That sly grin—did I really guess right?"

Just as the words left his mouth, he felt a gust of wind rush past his face. Fortunately, he was prepared and dodged just in time to avoid a close call.

Looking up, he saw Tingyuv retracting his fist, which was the size of a small plate. Wei Xiu laughed again, undeterred, and teased, "Hit the nail on the head, did I? Embarrassed and... ow..."

Before he could finish, a book came flying at him, narrowly missing its target. "So aggressive!" he thought. "No wonder the girls aren't lining up—it's all self-inflicted!"

Feeling a bit indignant, Wei Xiu quickly made his way to the door. He was about to leave when something crossed his mind. Standing with one foot out the door, he popped his head back in and, with a cheeky grin, advised, "Remember, it's good to stay active, but don't rush things. And... ow... take precautions!"

With two loud bangs, the office door finally closed, and the book Tingyuv had thrown landed on the floor.
