C125 A Party(2)
Jiaang Xin listened to the two of them and could not help but feel enlightened. In the past, she had never seen Tongtong smile like this. As expected, he still needed children of the same age to play.
While her thoughts were flying, the car had already stopped. Jiaang Xin held Tongtong's hand with one hand and Ye Rudia with the other. Ye Sen carried gifts from the trunk and the few of them entered the neighborhood while chatting and laughing.
Standing outside the door, Jiaang Xin smiled and asked Tongtong, "Are you ready?"
Tongtong hummed loudly. His face was nervous and excited. Seeing Jiaang Xin nod, he took a step forward and opened the door.
Bang!
The ribbon exploded on top of his head. Sparkling pieces of paper fell on Tongtong's head and body. He looked at the room full of people, somewhat nervous. Then, a pair of warm hands gently placed on his shoulder. His mother's soft voice rang out, "Do you like it?"
"Yes!" He turned to look at his mother, then turned back to the people in the living room and said loudly, "Thank you, uncles!"
"Aiya, it's so cute. I want one too." Jon covered his face with his hands, and his eyes lit up.
Xia Sheng took two steps forward and squatted in front of Tongtong. He held a well-packaged box like he was presenting a treasure. "Tongtong, this is my gift to you. Open it and see if you like it."
"Alright, they just came back. Let's go inside and sit first." Zhang Teng grabbed Xia Sheng's collar and dragged him to the side.
Jiaang Xin looked at Xia Sheng who could not resist and laughed. She looked around but did not see Chen Feng. She was a little confused. Could something have happened?
"Ms Jiaang, let's go in." Ye Rudia took her hand at the right time.
When she came back to her senses, she smiled at Dia and brought Tongtong into the house.
She introduced her friends to Tongtong one by one. Seeing Tongtong quickly get along with them, she finally felt at ease. She walked to the balcony and dialed Chen Feng's number.
However, Chen Feng did not pick up until the sound of the notification rang. She could not help but feel worried.
"Why did you come out?" Perhaps because of the atmosphere in the room, the usually cold voice now had a bit more warmth.
She did not hide her worry at all. She unconsciously frowned and looked at Zhang Teng. "Chen Feng did not answer the phone. I am worried that something might have happened to him."
Her eyes darkened and then returned to normal. His smile did not change. He gently patted her on the head and saw that her eyes were flickering. She did not dare to look at him directly, and her face also turned slightly red.
"Don't worry, there might be a traffic jam on the road."
She hummed and was still somewhat absent-minded.
He frowned slightly. He did not like the shadow of someone else in her heart. He took a step forward, lifted her face, and bent down in front of her shocked eyes.
"Mom! Come in quickly. Dia said she wanted to sing for me!"
Tongtong's soft voice was filled with excitement, and then it turned into doubt. "Uncle Zhang, what are you doing?"
Zhang Teng's movements paused. He straightened his body and swept his gaze across Jiaang Xin's crimson cheeks. His expression did not change, and he still had the demeanor of a mature man. There was not the slightest bit of awkwardness.
"Did Sister Dia ask you to come over?" He touched Tongtong's head and his voice was gentle.
"Yes." Tongtong looked at his mother in confusion, then turned to Uncle Zhang. "Did you bully my mother?"
He smiled perfectly and looked at Jiaang Xin. "How could that be? Didn't you want to see Dia perform? Let's go."
"Mom, are you okay?" Tongtong still did not believe it. Why was his mother's face so red? He thought of the TV series he had watched. Could it be that Uncle Zhang had done something shameful to his mother?
With a light cough, Jiaang Xin walked forward and held Tongtong's hand. She took the lead and led him out of the balcony, "It's fine. Don't let Dia wait too long. Let's go over."
When they reached the living room, everyone noticed Jiaang Xin's blushing face. Each of them revealed a meaningful expression, but wisely did not ask.
Xia Sheng came over and asked softly, "Do you want to take out the cake now?"
She looked at the clock on the wall and hesitated. Chen Feng had not come yet, and Tongtong had shouted to see him before he was discharged from the hospital. What had happened to him?
"What's wrong?" Seeing her worried look, Xia Sheng was a little anxious.
He shook his head and was about to say wait when he heard the doorbell ring. She was startled and thought that it might be Chen Feng. She hurriedly went to open the door and opened it. A large red color occupied her field of vision.
"Wow! So big!" Tongtong ran over behind his mother. When he saw the box that was half the size of a person, he immediately cried out in surprise.
A head appeared from behind the box. It was Chen Feng.
"Sorry I'm late. I encountered a car accident on the way. The entire street was blocked." Chen Feng smiled apologetically.
Seeing that he was safe and sound, Jiaang Xin heaved a sigh of relief and quickly moved aside. There was still a trace of worry in her voice. "I was scared to death. I called you but did not pick up. I thought something happened to you."
"I was in a hurry to come over, so I didn't notice the phone ringing." Chen Feng gently put the gift on the ground and patted the box. Squatting down, he met Tongtong's curious eyes and stretched out his hand. " Hello, Tongtong."
"Hello, Uncle Chen." Tongtong smiled and held Chen Feng's hand. He even took the initiative to give him a hug. His voice was soft. "Thank you, Uncle Chen, for always helping mother."
Chen Feng carried Tongtong and said with a smile, "Tongtong, happy birthday!"
