C9 The Abyss

At the top of the Heart Refining Cliff, everything was peaceful, and the sunset of the west mountain was as beautiful as ever.

On the edge of the cliff, a broken Green Vine Cable hung from the bottom of the cliff. A gentle breeze blew past, causing the Green Vine Cable to sway slightly, as if it was trying to prove something. A grain of sand fell into the abyss as it swayed.

After an indeterminate amount of time, the sand fell onto the body of a young man lying on the ground. It didn't make much noise, but it rolled down the young man's bare chest and landed on the ground.

This youth was Shibao, who had been swept into the abyss by the strong wind.

Shibao had been unconscious for an entire day and night in the abyss, and he had yet to wake up.

After an unknown period of time, Shibao's tightly shut eyes trembled slightly, and his brows furrowed slightly. He slowly opened his eyes with a face full of pain.

Shibao stared blankly for a moment, then stood up and sat on the ground, rubbing his forehead for a while. He looked around aimlessly, trying to remember something.

The scene of him falling off the cliff gradually surfaced in his mind.

He still remembered the moment the Green Vine Cable was torn apart, his body began to roll and drift in the wind, and not long after, he was swept down the cliff by the strange suction force of the abyss and fell into the abyss.

However, just as Shibao was falling, he thought that he would definitely die a horrible death.

Just when Shibao was in despair, he could vaguely feel a burning sensation in his abdomen. He looked over and saw a ball of golden light faintly appear on his abdomen. In the span of a few breaths, the golden light flashed and expanded, releasing a dazzling golden light, and before Shibao could react, his body was enveloped in the golden light and he fainted.

Before he fainted, Shibao felt his falling body suddenly lighten. His body was caught by the golden light and he fainted. When he woke up, he found himself lying on the ground unharmed.

Thinking of this, Shibao immediately reached for his belt and found something in an instant.

When he opened his palm, he saw that it was none other than the Seven Corners Peace Talisman that the fortune teller had given him three years ago.

Looking at the safety talisman in his palm, Shibao revealed a complicated expression.

At this moment, for some unknown reason, the seven-horned talisman was no longer the same dark yellow. Not only was the color of its surface slightly dim, it had also become light green.

The runes drawn on the talisman did not look like the usual runes no matter how one looked at it. It felt as if there was something contained in the runes on the talisman, causing the runes to become lively, as if they were about to leave the talisman.

After a long while, Shibao raised his head with an expressionless face and slowly stood up. He patted off the dust on his pants, looked at the talisman a few more times, shook his head and sighed, then put it back into his belt.

"This talisman is definitely not an ordinary item, and that old fortune-teller is also not an ordinary person. Then, what he said ... No, after I leave this place, I must go find that old man and ask him for guidance. But now, ..." Shibao muttered in dejection.

After that, Shibao looked around again. He noticed that although the abyss was dark, for some unknown reason, there was a hint of green light in the darkness, which made it seem rather strange.

Shibao squinted his eyes and looked around for a long time. He noticed that there were a few dead and rotten ancient trees in front of him, with their roots sticking out of the ground and extending in all directions.

Following the root of the tree, Shibao's gaze swept to the stone wall to his left. He saw that there were many vines hanging on the stone wall, each of them as thick as a thumb. When he looked up, he could see that the sky was filled with smoke, blocking Shibao's vision. Shibao didn't know if those vines had grown from the cliff.

However, Shibao soon realized that even if those vines had really grown down from the top of the cliff, he wouldn't have been able to use it to reach the top of the cliff.

This was because Shibao noticed that the mountain wall was covered with slippery moss, extending like vines towards an unknown height.

If he were to climb up the vine, he would unavoidably step on the moss and borrow its strength. If he was not careful enough, he might fall down. This was undoubtedly courting death.

Still, even though he didn't step on the wall of moss, and was careful not to slide down, he must have used up a great deal of strength in the process of climbing up. Besides, this place was so desolate that he didn't even know if there was any food, so what should he do...

"Well, since we're here, we might as well let it be. The most important thing now is to find out what the hell is going on down here, and find out what's edible."

Even so, as he looked at the dark abyss around him that was filled with mist, Shibao did not have much confidence in his heart.

Shibao did not know where he was in the abyss, and he could not tell the direction. He could only walk forward with the withered trees as the base.

Along the way, Shibao found that the underground of the abyss was not as desolate as he had imagined. At least, he saw a lot of grass along the way.

One of them was a type of grass that was more than five inches tall, had three missing leaves, and was bright red in color.

It was as bright as blood. It was red like crystal. It looked like a piece of red jade. When people saw it, they felt pity for it.

Only, when Shibao saw that there was a layer of rotten insect meat under the red grass, his heart suddenly trembled, and his scalp couldn't help but go numb. He didn't stop and quickly left.

In the depths of the dark blue abyss, Shibao was wandering around like a drop in the ocean.

After an unknown period of time, Shibao walked aimlessly at the bottom of the abyss. The surrounding smoke also began to thin, and there was almost no obstruction in his vision.

"Hu ~ ~"

Shibao took a deep breath and wiped the sweat off his forehead. Just as he was about to find a corner to rest, his eyes inadvertently glanced around.

Suddenly, Shibao's expression froze. He narrowed his eyes and stared at a place not far to his left.

He seemed to see a cave about fifty to sixty meters to his left. Shibao could not help but think more about it and quickly walked over with his eyes narrowed.

In a few breaths' time, Shibao had arrived. As expected, there really was a cave here.

Looking at the cave in front of him, Shibao's heart was deeply shocked by the cave entrance.

Regardless of what was inside the cave, just the cave entrance itself was at least eight meters high and three meters wide. How could Shibao not be shocked by such a huge cave?

"Since this cave is so huge, it doesn't seem like a natural cave. Could it be that this cave is a cave of a Vicious Beast, or the nest of many poisonous creatures ..." Shibao thought to himself.

Indeed, no one would believe that such a huge cave was naturally formed.

Simple and unadorned, that was Shibao's first impression of the cave. At a glance, the cave entrance under the messy vines was like a black hole that devoured people, causing Shibao's entire body to feel a chill.

To enter, or not to enter?

Shibao struggled in his heart.

After a while, Shibao relaxed his brows and said to himself: "Forget it, it's already like this. No matter how bad it is, I'm still going to die. Even if I don't go in, if this continues for three or four days, I'm afraid I'll starve to death here. If I enter, maybe there will be another world in the cave."

After thinking about it for a while, Shibao decided to go into the cave to take a look.

Shibao raised his head and took a deep breath. He started walking towards the ancient cave entrance.

As they approached the cave entrance, Shibao's forward movement slowed down as well. He secretly released his "thoughts" and sensed his surroundings, but he noticed that there was a faint stream of hot air flowing out of the cave entrance. It was extremely subtle, and if it wasn't for the perception of his "thoughts," Shibao wouldn't have been able to detect it.

There was definitely something strange about this cave...

In the end, Shibao suppressed the fear in his heart and walked into the cave.

As soon as he entered the cave, Shibao felt as if he had entered another world. There was no desolate and desolate aura outside the cave. On the contrary, the cave seemed to be filled with life.

As he walked, he looked at the interior of the cave, and found that the light inside the cave was much brighter than the outside. From time to time, purple smoke would drift over the long winding passage.

Shibao dodged the purple mist again and again, and as he dodged, he couldn't help but become even more cautious. Step by step, he walked along the stone walls of the gorge towards the depths of the cave.

The more Shibao walked, the more shocked he became. He noticed that as he went deeper and deeper, the temperature of the surrounding space also became higher and higher, and even the water vapor started to rise a little.

Not only that, he could also feel the spiritual Qi in the air becoming denser and denser, and in the end, Shibao could feel that the spiritual Qi in the air was already more than a dozen times stronger than when he was cultivating on the cliff.

With this repeated, how could Shibao not be shocked?

The passage in the cave was not ordinary. Shibao walked for nearly the time it took for an incense stick to burn before he could see the end of the gorge not far away.

The first thing Shibao did when he looked into the depths of the cave was to be shocked by the vast and boundless aura. He stood at the entrance of the valley, at a loss as to what to do.

At the end of the gorge, deep within the cave, there seemed to be an empty area with a radius of a few hundred meters. However, other than a green pond with a radius of a few dozen meters, there was nothing else.

Looking around, there was a faint purple fog in the air around the empty area, making the green pond blurry and unreal.

"This..."

Seeing this, Shibao seemed to be so shocked that his soul almost left his body. From time to time, he would make a strange sound from his mouth, stammering, but he couldn't hear what he was saying.

"That, that is ..."

Shibao stared at the green pond, his fists tightly clenched, his body trembling uncontrollably, and he was extremely excited.

Shibao looked at the green pool with a red face. Just as he was about to move, the cave suddenly started to shake. Shibao staggered and almost fell down, before he could react.

"Roar ~"

A thunderous roar came from somewhere, as terrifying as the demonic sound that pierced one's ears.

Such a change of events pulled Shibao back, who was immersed in excitement, back to reality. He immediately woke up as if he had been splashed with cold water, and his face was at a loss as to what to do.

"What... what happened? Why is the cave shaking? Is the cave going to collapse? And what was with that deafening roar just now? Could it be that there really is some kind of ferocious beast? "

Shibao was bewildered as he scanned his surroundings. He raised his head and looked at the green pond in the fog. He frowned and thought for a moment, his eyes filled with deep regret and reluctance.

Rubble and dust fell on Shibao's body one after another. Before he could even think about it, Shibao suddenly turned around and started to circulate his spirit energy as he rushed towards the cave entrance. He didn't even care about the purple fog in the gorge as he passed through it and frantically escaped the cave.

Only when he was a hundred meters away from the cave entrance did Shibao stop and gasp for breath.

After a short while, Shibao slowly recovered. As if he felt something, his head slightly moved.

Suddenly, he felt a shadow appear behind him.

Shibao's breathing immediately became rapid. He suddenly turned his head, and his eyes couldn't help but narrow as his expression became extremely terrified.
