C115 In the Forest District They Built a House and the Two Girls Fought over It(1)

As the car hit the rocky mountain road, the five passengers who had been sleeping soundly were jolted awake.

There was no way they could keep sleeping through such a rough ride!

Finally, the car pulled into the courtyard of a brick house, and the five liberated travelers let out a sigh of relief and cheered.

"Bing, why is there a house out here?" Sun Meng peered at the unfinished brick house outside, illuminated by the car's headlights. "It doesn't look complete. Is it even habitable?"

"And with no doors or windows, how are we supposed to sleep?" Liang Hui, rubbing her bleary eyes, asked with a yawn.

"Tang, with the wind howling and the rain pouring down..." Teacher Lin's face was etched with concern.

Zhao Dagang and Qin Mengli remained silent, but their worried expressions spoke volumes.

Tang Bing had anticipated their reactions. Parking the car, he turned to face the group, "You all realize by now that I'm no ordinary person. If I've brought you here, I surely have a solution for this minor issue. What do you think all those doors on the roof are for?"

"Oh yeah! Bing, you dismantled so many doors, so they're meant for this place?" Zhao Dagang's eyes brightened. "No wonder you had me look for matching ones!"

This jogged everyone's memory about Tang Bing's extraordinary abilities.

Even though they were unclear on the extent of his powers, his confidence reassured them.

"Bing, what exactly are your superpowers?" Sun Meng couldn't contain her curiosity. "I'm dying to know!"

It wasn't just Sun Meng; Zhao Dagang, Qin Mengli, Lin Leyan, and Liang Hui all gazed at him expectantly.

Tang Bing, though he had reunited with them, did not fully trust them. He swept his gaze over the group with a stern look and spoke deliberately, "I'll share what I can. But if I choose not to disclose something, don't press me. Just understand that I'm not ordinary and can do many things you can't. As for the specifics of my abilities, don't ask further—I won't respond."

"Okay then!" Despite her disappointment, Sun Meng smiled, unbuckled her seatbelt, and stood up. She approached Tang Bing, "So Bing, are we heading inside now?"

"No rush!" Tang Bin reassured them with a wave of his hand, "Stay put in the car for a bit. Once I've got the doors and windows in place, we'll all get out. It's pitch black outside, but at least we've got some light in here!"

With the power grid down, the car's electricity was the sole source of comfort for the survivors. Inside, they could almost fool themselves into thinking it was still the time before the apocalypse.

Once the bus was running, the generator would kick in, powering the onboard appliances and charging the batteries with any surplus. As long as there was fuel, the car's electronics could run endlessly.

Tang Bing had everyone remain inside while he braved the rain to untie ropes and carefully remove the doors from the roof of the car.

The heaviest door, at the bottom, was dragged near the perimeter wall. He propped it up and positioned it at the entrance.

His installation method was simple and tool-free.

Leveraging the game system, all he had to do was aim, adjust the angle, and place it—much like fitting bricks into place.

Unexpectedly, the iron door didn't fit the pre-existing doorway—it was too small, and the other door was off by about a space.

Undeterred, Tang Bing wielded a pickaxe to chip away a layer of the wall, resizing the space to perfectly fit the iron door.

After securing it in place, he tested the door several times without a hitch!

Once locked, the wall provided a temporary fortress. Even if zombies appeared at night, they would be kept at bay!

The team inside the bus watched in awe. Who knew door installation could be so effortless? Just align, place, and it stood firm as if by precise calculation, skipping all the usual steps!

And astonishingly, the door was incredibly solid. Tang Bing pushed against it several times, but it wouldn't budge!

Indeed, Tang Bing's superpower was baffling yet formidable!

As Tang Bing turned back to fit a door on the three-story brick house, Sun Meng found a pretty little floral umbrella in the bus's cargo box, dashed out into the rain, and ran up behind him, calling out, "Bing!"

The rain stopped abruptly. Tang Bing looked up to see an umbrella and turned to find Sun Meng standing cheerfully at his side. "What's up? Weren't you going to wait for me to finish before getting out of the car?"

"How could I just sit in the car and watch you get soaked?" Sun Meng chuckled, holding the umbrella over him. "I've got you covered!"

"But how's Tang Bing supposed to work like this?" Qin Mengli exited the car, approached Sun Meng, and nudged her umbrella aside before bending down to grab the door. "Let me help you lift this!"

"Why are you pushing me?" Sun Meng glared at Qin Mengli, clearly annoyed.

"Because you're in the way!" Qin Mengli shot back a glare. "Your help is actually delaying Tang Bing, which means we all get to rest later!"

"Who says I'm in the way? I'm just trying to keep Bing dry!" Sun Meng protested. "Do you want him to catch a cold from the rain?"

"I'm getting rained on too, and I'm not about to get sick that easily," Qin Mengli retorted with a huff. "How can Tang Bing work with you standing there holding an umbrella?"

"Do you think you can be of any help? With your strength, can you even lift it?" Sun Meng scoffed at her.

"Who says I'm not strong enough?"

The two women inexplicably started bickering again, leaving Tang Bing, the man in the middle, feeling quite out of his element and bewildered.

"Both of you step aside, I've got this!" Zhao Dagang arrived just in time. He shooed Qin Mengli and Sun Meng aside, bent down, and hoisted the heavy door onto his back, managing to carry it all by himself. He then turned to Tang Bing and asked, "Bing, where should I put this?"

Snapping out of his daze, Tang Bing quickly pointed to the door frame. "Just set it down here for now!"

"Got it!" Zhao Dagang easily placed the door beside the frame. "How do you want it installed?"

"Hold off on that for now!" Tang Bing directed his gaze upward. "We need to move all the other doors upstairs first. We'll install the main door last. Otherwise, it'll block the entrance!"

"Gotcha!" With clear instructions, Zhao Dagang immediately set to work, carrying the doors upstairs one by one.

With his assistance, Tang Bing's workload lightened considerably. He promptly began installing windows on the ground floor.

Lin Leyan and Liang Hui stepped out of the car as well. Liang Hui wielded a flashlight to guide Zhao Dagang, ensuring he didn't misstep in the unlit house, shrouded in darkness.

Sun Meng and Qin Mengli trailed behind Tang Bing, their flashlights piercing the gloom.

The headlights of the car managed to brighten most of the area, but some corners and rooms remained shrouded in shadow.

Having been away from the group for five days, Tang Bing found today's warm reception quite unfamiliar.

Sun Meng seemed unaffected; her behavior towards him hadn't changed much, if only becoming slightly more clingy.

Qin Mengli, on the other hand, was acting out of character. Once eager to keep her distance, she now stuck close behind, apparently vying with Sun Meng.

Tang Bing briefly entertained the thought that she might have developed feelings for him, but he quickly dismissed it.

In under an hour, with everyone's help, the doors and windows of all three floors were in place.

The brick house was now a complete dwelling, impervious to the relentless downpour outside.

"Looks great!" Teacher Lin exclaimed, flashlight in hand as she surveyed the work. "It's like a brand-new house, ready to be lived in as soon as we bring in the furniture!"

"But how will we sleep tonight without any furniture? The rooms are empty!" Liang Hui voiced her concern.

"Sleeping won't be an issue, but we'll need to furnish the place later," Tang Bing reassured them. "First, pick out your favorite room. Once you've decided, I'll provide each of you with a bed and two blankets. The house has three floors; the ground level includes the kitchen, living room, study, and bathroom. The kitchen is set up with a chimney and stove, so cooking won't be a problem, and there's plenty of wood. We might be short on kitchenware, but we can always pick that up in town next time."

"I've had this in mind for quite some time," Lin Leyan quickly responded, "I've already loaded the kitchen equipment from the factory onto the truck. It's ready to use on arrival!"

"That's great!" Tang Bing glanced at Lin Leyan, impressed. He mused, "Experience really does count for something. Older folks tend to think of everything. Anyway, the kitchen is in the capable hands of Teacher Lin and Sun Meng, right? No issues there?"
