C131 The Spoils of War Were Plentiful and the Zombie Horde Actually Left!(1)
Tang Bing had come to appreciate the advantages of teamwork.
Previously, cracking a safe on his own, the resilience of the safe and gun cabinet seemed comparable, yet it was a time-consuming task.
Now, with the assistance of Zhao Dagang, Sun Meng, and Liang Hui, even though the two girls' strength was minimal, making only a slight impact on the gun cabinet, their combined efforts had multiplied the speed. With his trusty iron pickaxe, Tang Bing managed to bust open the gun cabinet in under eight minutes.

Tang Bing was overjoyed as he surveyed the bounty before him.
"Why's it empty? We've been hammering away for so long, all for nothing!" Zhao Dagang complained, peering inside the now-empty gun cabinet.
"Cut the chatter!" Tang Bing dismissed with a wave of his hand. "Go check the office for any other useful supplies. Take anything we can use!"
"Okay!" The trio obeyed, though puzzled by Tang Bing's decision to stay behind, they left one by one.
Tang Bing wasted no time examining his loot.
Night Vision Goggles (Standard) - Defense: 12. Once equipped, they allow clear vision in the dark.
A handy tool indeed! Although Tang Bing didn't venture out at night, these goggles would enable him to spot zombies or other creatures from a distance around his house.
Telescope (Flawless) - With this, you can see great distances!
This telescope was a step up from the previous monocular, promising a much farther viewing range.
Sniper Rifle Stock (Flawless) - A top-tier component for a sniper rifle. Coupled with the earlier-found sniper rifle barrel, he now had two essential parts. But without the sniper rifle blueprint, assembling all the components would be futile. If only he could manufacture a sniper rifle, he'd surely find a way to prioritize its construction!
Bird Gun (Low-Quality) Attack: 33.
It's just a low-quality bird gun, but its damage is roughly double that of a pistol! It packs a stronger punch, although the ammo is scarcer. Plus, these low-quality ones tend to break easily.
He managed to get his hands on two shotgun parts, but without the blueprints, he couldn't assemble it like he could a sniper rifle.
The blueprint for the hammer required 30 iron ingots and 10 logs of wood.
This blueprint was for a hefty construction-site hammer, the kind used for driving stakes—a real heavy hitter. With its formidable attack power and impressive destructive capabilities, it might be worth crafting one to see how it fares. It could probably bust open safes and gun cabinets much faster!
Besides these, there were various bullets and gunpowder. The police station was practically an armory! In a country where firearms are prohibited, if you wanted weapons and ammo, you'd have to search buildings tied to the military or police. The system would surely restock the loot in such places!
Tang Bing believed that it was essential to search any police station he came across, no matter the location.
Zhao Dagang and the rest were almost done looting. Once Tang Bing emerged, he made a beeline for the bus.
"What's happening here?" he asked as he boarded the bus and found Zhao Dagang, Sun Meng, and Liang Hui loading brand-new computers inside. Tang Bing was at a loss for words. "What's all this?"
"Bing!" Sun Meng turned around to answer, "We stumbled upon these new computers with decent specs. They're probably evidence from a computer theft case the police cracked."
"What do you need the computers for?" Tang Bing asked, exasperated. "Without the internet, they're practically useless!"
"That's not necessarily the case!" Liang Hui said, setting down a computer gently and smiling. "See, the CD drives work. We can grab all the CDs we need from a video or computer store! We can use video and game discs. We've got a generator, right? So when we're bored, we can watch movies or play games. And if we set up a LAN, we can even game together!"
"Yeah, totally!" Sun Meng agreed, nodding with a laugh, "It's a great form of entertainment!"
"I can't believe this," Tang Bing was exasperated, shaking his head at the thought of his companions wanting to play during the apocalypse. "We've got generators, sure, but the electricity isn't for fun and games! Shouldn't we be thinking about conserving power instead of coming up with ideas like this?"
Seeing Tang Bing's disapproving look, Liang Hui and Sun Meng hung their heads, clearly realizing their suggestion might have been inappropriate.
"But Bing, I really think it's a good idea," Zhao Dagang chimed in, coming to their defense. "All we do is go to bed early with hardly any fun. Just cards and conversation, and it's getting old. We're up against zombies every day, and it's tough, especially for the girls. They're under a lot of stress. Your generator works like a charm, so why not build another one just for leisure? It'll help everyone unwind. I mean, even I get down from all the zombie killing, and you, Bing, you've had to take out other survivors too. You can't tell me that doesn't weigh on you, that you don't need to let off some steam?"
Tang Bing couldn't help but smirk at Dagang's persuasive argument, realizing he didn't need to be so hard on them. "Fine," he conceded with a nod, "But this is a one-time deal!"
"Bing, does that mean... we can actually take the computer home?" Sun Meng's face lit up with hope.
"Really, Bing?" Liang Hui joined in with excitement.
"Given the amount of stress we're all under," Tang Bing acknowledged with a slight nod, "go ahead and take it back with you."
"Thank you, Bing!" Sun Meng beamed, running over and giving him a peck on the cheek. "You're the best!"
"Ew, get a room," Liang Hui teased, pretending to be grossed out as she hugged her arms.
"Huihui, I'm the one who convinced Bing!" Zhao Dagang said, eyeing Tang Bing enviously. "How about a little reward for me too?"
"Back off!" Liang Hui pushed his face away with a flick of her finger, laughing. "In your dreams, Dagang!"
"Come on, just one time!"
"Have you lost your mind?" Liang Hui fumed, kicking him in the calf. "Back off!"
"Huihui, don't be like that~~"
Watching the pair's antics, Tang Bing extended his hand to gently push Sun Meng aside, his fingers brushing the spot she had kissed. Feeling embarrassed, he decided to act as if nothing had happened. "Okay, everyone, take your seats. We've already lost too much time; we need to get moving and find that solar water heater."
At his command, the three of them promptly returned to their seats and buckled up.
The bus resumed its journey, continuing the search.
"Bing, look, the video store!" Not far down the road, Zhao Dagang pointed excitedly into the distance.
Tang Bing could see it too, but there were at least a hundred zombies swarming around the video store. Approaching it would mean certain entrapment!
"Bing, there's a computer shop too! And a cell phone store!" Zhao Dagang whispered urgently, his excitement palpable.
"Brother Bing, we can't go there!" Sun Meng interjected before Tang Bing could respond, "With that many zombies, it would be a death wish. Plus, who knows how many more are lurking nearby. They haven't spotted us yet; let's just detour and get out of here, shall we?"
"Ah, but we've nearly circled the whole town, and only over there are the video and computer shops..." Zhao Dagang's face was etched with hope, "Since we've got the computers, we need the right accessories to go with them, don't we?"
"Are you letting your obsession cloud your judgment?" Tang Bing shot him a disapproving glance in the rearview mirror.
"No, not at all! Brother Bing, I'm just trying to make sure our team has what it needs to survive!" Zhao Dagang hurriedly explained, stealing a glance at Liang Hui, who remained quiet.
