C146 The Coal Gas Plant Was Ignited the Dispute Was about Who Was the Leader(2)

Jiang Feng and Liu Chen exchanged a surprised glance, both thinking, How can this kid be so certain there's a loudspeaker here when he clearly doesn't even know where the gas station is? He couldn't be making this up, could he?

Tang Bing caught the skepticism in their gaze and quickly added, "I've checked the loudspeaker's number in the town government's broadcasting room and looked over the town map. There's no mistake!"

Reassured by his mention of the map, Jiang Feng and Liu Chen began to trust him a little more.

"So, what do you think? Can you draw the zombies close?" Jiang Feng inquired.

"I'll do my best to attract the zombies to the loudspeaker nearby!" Tang Bing assured, locking eyes with Jiang Feng. "But it's several hundred meters from here, and I can't guarantee they'll make it into the gas station."

"That's not a concern," Jiang Feng quickly responded. "Just get the zombies near the loudspeaker. I have a plan to funnel them into the gas station and set off an automatic detonation. What do you say? Shall we team up?"

"Okay!" Tang Bing scrutinized their faces before giving a firm nod. "How much time do you need?"

"30 minutes!" Jiang Feng declared. "You've got to make sure the zombies show up within that time frame. Liu Chen and I will have everything ready. Once time's up, we're out of there!"

"Are you certain?" Tang Bing pressed, his tone serious. "This isn't a game."

Without hesitation, Jiang Feng rolled up his sleeve to reveal a gleaming electronic watch. He then fished out another watch from his pocket and tossed it to Tang Bing.

Catching it, Tang Bing looked puzzled.

"Sync them!" Jiang Feng instructed, bringing the watches together to synchronize the time. "Stick to the countdown on this watch—exactly 30 minutes, not a second more or less! You must ensure there's no significant deviation. If the zombies arrive too early, Liu Chen and I will be trapped. Too late, and our traps might fail. We can't afford a large margin of error. Can you handle it?"

"I'll do everything I can," Tang Bing replied with a slight nod.

"It's not about doing everything you can—it has to be precise," Jiang Feng emphasized sternly. "Our lives are on the line here!"

Tang Bing glanced over at Liu Chen, noticing that he wasn't challenging Jiang Feng's risky bet with their lives. "He's not objecting?" he wondered aloud, seemingly unfazed by the gamble.

"As long as you can pull it off!" Jiang Feng responded confidently. "There's no need for concern on our end."

Convinced by Jiang Feng's assurance, Tang Bing felt the plan was solid. Besides, if things went south, it would be Jiang Feng and Liu Chen who'd pay the ultimate price, not him. With a nod, he committed, "I'll ensure the zombies get there on time!"

"Great! Let's sync our timers now!" Jiang Feng instructed, prompting Tang Bing to set his watch. "Go time!"

With that, Tang Bing took off toward the town government building, his electronic watch in hand. Meanwhile, Jiang Feng gestured for Liu Chen to make a beeline for the gas factory.

Once Tang Bing was out of sight, he sprinted to the town government, slowing down only when he reached the gate.

Inside, Xu Rou was indeed still there, standing by while her teammates had yet to arrive.

He dashed to the broadcasting room, casting a glance back at Xu Rou, who hadn't budged from her post by the door, crowbar in hand.

Seeing she wasn't following, Tang Bing didn't bother with her.

In the broadcasting room, he worked the loudspeakers to draw in the zombies, timing it perfectly.

Despite being ablaze, the zombies, upon hearing the noise, immediately began to converge and move in unison.

Tang Bing continued to use the loudspeaker to lure them in while he climbed upstairs to survey the scene through binoculars, making sure everything went according to plan.

Meanwhile, Zhao Dagang had driven up to the town government, inadvertently leading a few zombies along with him.

From the rooftop, Tang Bing watched the scene unfold. Although confident in Zhao Dagang's ability to handle it, he still rushed down to offer backup, weapon in hand.

To his surprise, he found the zombies had already been taken care of by the time he reached the ground floor.

Qin Mengli and Liang Hui sat anxiously in the car, while Zhao Dagang, mace in hand, stood face-to-face with Xu Rou.

Upon seeing Tang Bing emerge, Zhao Dagang called out in urgency, "Bing! Who's this? Do you know her? Is she infected?"

"No worries!" Tang Bing gestured for everyone to lower their weapons. "Her name is Xu Rou, part of another survivor squad. Two of their team are setting traps elsewhere. We're teaming up to take out a large number of zombies!"

"So, we're joining forces? Are they safe?" Zhao Dagang inquired, eyeing Xu Rou.

"I can't be certain, but for now, we're collaborating!" Tang Bing responded, "Stay alert. Let's head inside the building first."

"Bing, this lady's got some serious skills!" Zhao Dagang motioned for Qin Mengli and Liang Hui to exit the vehicle, and as they approached Tang Bing, he murmured, "She just took down several zombies!"

Tang Bing cast a surprised glance at Xu Rou. He had pegged her as the weakest link, yet Zhao Dagang claimed she had slain multiple zombies? She was nothing like the women in his own team!

Right, the plan! Checking the time, Tang Bing knew they couldn't afford any slip-ups. "Forget that for now. Everyone, upstairs with me! You too, come on up!"

Xu Rou, upon hearing his call, paused briefly, then after surveying the desolate street, followed suit.

"Wait here outside the broadcast room!" Tang Bing led the group upstairs and into the broadcast room to continue the zombie lure. Using the town's speaker system, they strategically drew the horde toward the coal gas plant.

He meticulously kept track of the time, ensuring they weren't too early or too late.

For thirty minutes, he tirelessly ascended and descended, monitoring and tweaking their plan.

When the moment was right, he blasted the speakers near the coal gas plant at full volume.

Even from the town hall, the blaring rock music from the speakers was unmistakable.

Now it was a waiting game. He hurried to the rooftop and, with binoculars in hand, scanned the horizon.

Soon enough, he spotted Jiang Feng and Liu Chen sprinting toward the town hall. They had preemptively set off before the zombies' arrival, racing at an impressive speed!

As they drew nearer, a thunderous explosion erupted in the distance.

He quickly grabbed his binoculars and saw that an explosion had somehow been triggered at the gas plant. A series of blasts followed, culminating in one massive detonation that was the most powerful of them all!

Tang Bing could see zombies being flung into the air by the explosion, creating a scene of spectacular chaos!

Another inferno raged, with countless zombies frantically running through the flames.

Success! Tang Bing pumped his fist in excitement as he watched Jiang Feng and Liu Chen dash into the town hall, signaling to him with a wave.

He rushed downstairs to meet up with his teammates.

"That was intense!" Jiang Feng exclaimed as he burst through the door, "I almost didn't make it back!"

Liu Chen followed, gasping for air, his sweat pouring down, clearly having run at breakneck speed.

Once the two teams regrouped, they stood watchfully face to face.

Jiang Feng eyed Tang and Zhao Dagang, who were still on high alert, and then glanced at Qin Mengli and Liang Hui, who were peeking out from behind the two men. He broke the silence, "Are these all the survivors you have?"

"No! There are two more women back at our place!" Zhao Dagang blurted out truthfully.

Tang Bing shot him a look, thinking, "Why spill the beans like that?"

Feeling Tang Bing's gaze, Zhao Dagang quickly realized his mistake and bowed his head in contrition.

Jiang Feng couldn't help but laugh, then addressed Tang Bing, "My friend, you're clearly the leader here, right? We've just joined forces to take down most of the zombies! From now on, the supplies in this town are ours for the taking! How about it? Should we merge our teams?"

"You're welcome to join our team!" Zhao Dagang said eagerly, "But Bing is our leader, and you'll have to follow his lead!"

"Are you kidding?" Liu Chen retorted, "Him? Everyone in our team is older than him! Plus, Jiang is a seasoned veteran, and Sister Xu is a former police officer. If we're joining forces, it's only logical that Jiang Feng takes the lead!"

"Bing is the only leader I follow!" Zhao Dagang declared loudly, "If you want to join us, you'll have to take orders from Bing!"

"Who said anything about us joining your team?" Liu Chen countered, pointing at him, "It's you who should be joining us! And for the record, Jiang Feng is a soldier with unmatched leadership skills!"
