C72 Zhao Dagang Fell in Love with Liang Hui, and Ms Meng Secretly Bought the List.

During breakfast, Teacher Lin Leyan couldn't contain her curiosity and inquired about Qin Mengli and Zhao Dagang's injuries.

Just the day before, one was constantly furrowing their brow from abdominal pain, while the other limped along with injuries to their limbs.

Yet, overnight, both had removed their bandages, showing no signs of injury.

Unlike her daughter Liang Hui, who tended to be indifferent to her surroundings, Teacher Lin was both observant and inquisitive.

Luckily, since she had only just arrived, Mengli and Dagang hadn't gone into detail about their injuries with her. They had their story straight, claiming the injuries were minor but painful. Thanks to the care of Sun Meng, a professional nurse, and some precious medicine from the hospital, they had healed quite quickly.

The injuries were still present, but they felt better that day.

Teacher Lin, not being a doctor and not particularly knowledgeable in this area, took their word for it after hearing their convincing explanation.

She then shifted her focus to the two sets of scrap iron equipment that Zhao Dagang had brought over early that morning for her and her daughter, Liang Hui.

Everyone was donning similar scrap iron gear, seemingly crafted from the same mold. Despite appearing identical in size before being handled, they seemed ill-fitting. But once tried on, the gear fit as though it was tailor-made.

This baffling occurrence was beyond her comprehension, so she raised the issue on the spot.

Tang Bing had remained silent the whole time, uninterested in explaining such matters. After all, he figured the truth would be too far-fetched for anyone to believe, and he preferred to keep such secrets to himself.

Sun Meng, Zhao Dagang, and Qin Mengli were equally curious but dismissed the topic with vague responses.

Unable to get the answers she sought and noting the general lack of interest, Teacher Lin held her tongue, still puzzled.

Perhaps it was the hunger from not eating for days, but she soon found herself captivated by the meal before her, eagerly savoring the delicious food she had prepared herself, leaving her earlier curiosities behind.

As Zhao Dagang ate, he made no attempt to conceal his gaze, constantly looking over at Liang Hui.

Liang Hui always caught him in the act and shot back a fierce glare.

Yet, Zhao Dagang was undeterred. He blatantly ignored Liang Hui's glaring warnings, and even when she sneakily kicked his calf under the table, he remained unfazed and kept his eyes on her.

This spectacle was visible to everyone present.

Tang Bing chose to turn a blind eye, not wanting to get involved. Zhao Dagang's interest in Liang Hui was their business, and he had no desire to meddle.

Both Sun Meng and Qin Mengli were well aware of the situation. Being particularly close to Teacher Lin, Qin Mengli would casually reach for food, strategically blocking Zhao Dagang's view.

Sun Meng, ever the mischief-maker, acted oblivious but would covertly join Liang Hui in kicking Zhao Dagang's feet.

In essence, the girls formed a united front.

Teacher Lin Leyan was far from oblivious. Zhao Dagang's intense stares brought back memories of her own husband. Nonetheless, she was progressive in her thinking and believed her daughter should handle her own romantic affairs. Thus, she too adopted a stance of willful ignorance.

The mealtime was outwardly serene, yet beneath the table, it was as tumultuous as a battlefield. Eventually, even Qin Mengli pitched in. As long as Zhao Dagang persisted in his ogling, the trio of girls would take turns kicking him.

Despite his resolve, Zhao Dagang was no match for the onslaught from the three women. With no option to fight back, he was left to dodge as best he could.

Tang Bing had had enough of this juvenile drama.

"I'm finished eating!" he announced, standing and clapping Zhao Dagang on the shoulder, "Wrap it up and come with me to the supermarket to haul some supplies!"

"Got it!" Zhao Dagang leapt to his feet, "I'm stuffed and ready to roll!"

"Off we go, then!" Tang Bing glanced down at Zhao Dagang's pant leg, now patterned with shoe prints, and shook his head in disbelief.

"Hey!" Zhao Dagang dropped his utensils, gave Liang Hui one last look, and under her cautionary gaze, turned to follow Tang Bing.

"Bing!" Tang Bing had just led Zhao Dagang out of the cafeteria when Sun Meng sprang up and dashed after them. "Wait up!"

"What's up?" Tang Bing turned, a look of confusion crossing his face at the sudden call.

Sun Meng hurried over, tugging at Tang Bing's sleeve and pulling him aside to whisper, "Could you... could you pick up a few things for me at the supermarket?"

"Just tell me what you need. Why all the secrecy?" Tang Bing asked, bemused.

A blush crept onto Sun Meng's cheeks as she tiptoed and murmured in his ear, "I need you to grab some... female products."

"Female products?" Tang Bing looked utterly lost. "What on earth is that?"

"They're not ghostly things!" Sun Meng insisted quietly, "To us, they're indispensable treasures."

"First 'female products,' now 'treasures.' Can you just spell it out for me?" Tang Bing implored with a frown. "Stop beating around the bush and say what you need."

"Bing, you know exactly what I mean. Why do you make me spell it out?" Sun Meng's face grew hotter. "You're just trying to make me feel awkward, aren't you?"

Tang Bing was genuinely perplexed. "Why would I want to embarrass you? I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. Can you just simplify it for me?"

Convinced that Tang Bing was poking fun at her, Sun Meng couldn't believe it. Her hints were as clear as day; anyone should get it, right? Yet his expression seemed genuine. How could anyone be oblivious to something so common? At a loss, she bit her lip, hesitated, then finally whispered, "I need you to help me get some sanitary pads, okay?"

Hearing her say it outright, Tang Bing's mouth twitched involuntarily. "You want me to get those? Are you serious? How would that look for a guy like me?"

"Bing," Sun Meng said, her smile tinged with embarrassment, "What's there to be ashamed of? In normal times, plenty of guys buy them for their girlfriends. It's not a big deal! Besides, with so few people around, who's going to judge you – the zombies?"

Tang Bing cleared his throat, trying to mask his discomfort. "But you're not my girlfriend."

"And I can't go with you," Sun Meng retorted, her lips pursed in a pout. "If I could, I'd get them myself! But tagging along with you would just slow you down and cause more trouble."

"Women can be such a hassle!" Tang Bing exclaimed in exasperation.

"Pretty please?" Sun Meng clasped her hands together, flashing an adorable plea. "Bing, you're the best! I'm just thinking of the team. Without that item, we'd be in trouble if zombies sniffed out the scent of blood and swarmed our house."

"That thing really solves the problem?" Tang Bing was skeptical.

"It'll definitely cut down on our troubles significantly!" Sun Meng implored once more. "Come on, Bing, do me a solid! There are four women on our team now, and that item is super important! Even if I don't use it, the others will need it!"

"Bing, are you guys done yet?" Zhao Dagang called out, growing impatient.

"Zhao, hush! Bing and I are still talking," Sun Meng gestured for him to be quiet, then whispered to Tang Bing, "Brother Bing, please, I'm begging you!"

"Fine, fine!" Tang Bing relented, though he found the request awkward, as it involved feminine hygiene products. With no one else but him and Zhao Dagang capable of fighting, the women would be defenseless. "What exactly do you need? Just grab a few packs?"

"Just go for the most expensive, best quality ones! Skip the cheap stuff," Sun Meng said with a grin, relieved by his agreement. "Who knows how long we've got left, and since it's not costing us, why not indulge?"

"I'll just grab a random selection, then," Tang Bing muttered, his mood sinking.

"Wait a sec!" Sun Meng stopped him, reconsidering. "Brother Bing, could you also grab the brand I'm used to? Just in case I don't take to the fancy ones, I'll have something to fall back on."

"Can we drop this subject now?" Tang Bing was ready to move on, secretly impressed by Sun Meng's forthrightness. He couldn't imagine being so candid himself.

"Just bring back as much as you can!" Sun Meng instructed with a nod. "The more, the merrier."

"Enough already!" Tang Bing said, eager to wrap up the conversation, "Any more requests?"

"Oh, right!" Sun Meng exclaimed, suddenly recalling something, "Chocolate! I need chocolate!"

"Didn't I bring back a bunch last time?" Tang Bing raised an eyebrow, "Have you finished it all?"

"Nope!" Sun Meng laughed, shaking her head, "But I'm tired of those flavors. Could you grab some different flavored chocolates for me to try?"

"Ms. Meng, we're in the middle of an apocalypse, not a shopping spree!" Tang Bing was exasperated, "Be grateful you've got something to eat at all. And now you want variety? We're putting our lives on the line to find these supplies!"

"Bing, you're the best, you know that? Pretty please?" Sun Meng pouted, making an adorable pleading face, "It's not out of your way, is it?"

"I've never met a woman with so many demands!" Tang Bing grumbled, clearly displeased, "If the supermarket's close, it's one thing. But what if we have to start searching farther afield once these supplies run out? Will I still be running errands for you then?"

"Hehe, no problems for now though, right?" Sun Meng asked with a grin.

"Fine, fine!" Tang Bing gave in, not wanting to prolong the conversation, "I'll do what I can, okay? Just stay put at home, all of you. Dagang and I will be back soon!"

"Roger that!" Sun Meng saluted playfully, "We'll be good and wait right here for your return!"

Tang Bing couldn't help but notice Sun Meng's increased vivacity lately. They were becoming more comfortable with each other, and her initial reserve was fading. Despite finding her exuberance a bit overwhelming at times, he secretly found it endearing.

"Dagang, we're off!" Tang Bing clapped Zhao Dagang on the shoulder and headed for the door.

"Bing, hold up for me!" Zhao Dagang quickly caught up, following Tang Bing out on their mission.

"Mengmeng, what were you talking to him about?" Qin Mengli inquired, appearing out of nowhere as Sun Meng waved goodbye to Tang Bing.

"I asked Bing to pick up some sanitary pads for us!" Sun Meng replied with a smile, "We all need them, after all!"
