C14 Yaya Wanted to Fight!(1)

The hands of the clock pointed to 8:00 AM on December 22nd, 2022, when the devil descended upon Earth, wreaking havoc and bringing destruction to humanity.

Lin Ya's eyelashes fluttered gently like delicate fans as she opened her eyes. Gazing at the ornate ceiling above, she blinked in bewilderment, recalling the tumultuous events of the previous night.

Suddenly, the hotel was pierced by distant screams and pleas for mercy from other rooms and floors.

"Ah... Honey, what's wrong with you? Please, don't bite me!"

"Big Zhuang, come to your senses. Stay back, or I'll have to be harsh with you..."

"My love, stop biting me. I promise, I'll leave my wife and marry you. Just don't come any closer... Don't come... Ah..."

The corridor echoed with the sounds of doors being violently slammed, frantic footsteps, and the devilish growls that seemed to hum ominously.

Lin Ya could sense the pandemonium outside the hotel—people running, shouting, and screaming in terror. The air grew heavy with the pungent stench of blood.

She was on the top floor of the 15-story building, a place known for its exceptional soundproofing. Yet, she couldn't fathom how she could hear such vivid sounds, sense the distant chaos, and even visualize the blurry scenes in her mind based solely on the noises. She could feel the tragedies unfolding over the expansive area below as if they were happening right beside her.

Unbeknownst to her, her senses—her hearing, smell, and perception—had inexplicably amplified to an extraordinary degree.

Overwhelmed by the horrific scenes, the agonizing screams, and the blood-soaked air, Lin Ya turned ashen. Clutching her blanket, she curled up on the bed, shivering uncontrollably.

Despite her formidable abilities as an Evolver, Lin Ya's psyche remained that of a fragile young woman.

But Lin Ya's inner resolve was unyielding. After several minutes of trembling, she clenched her teeth, threw off the covers, and dashed to the window. With a swift tug, she yanked the curtains aside to peer below.

In her haste, she failed to notice that she had reached the window almost instantaneously, moving at a velocity three to five times her normal speed.

Within minutes, the air had become saturated with the acrid scent of blood—a dense, cloying odor that surged into Lin Ya's nostrils, threatening to overwhelm her with nausea.

Lin Ya's enhanced vision allowed her to see with crystal clarity the events unfolding within a couple hundred meters outside the hotel. She witnessed a horde of abnormal-looking individuals, arms outstretched and moving at a brisk pace, in hot pursuit of the terrified people running ahead of them. The chased cried out in horror, desperately searching for a place to hide.

The less fortunate ones were overtaken, tackled to the ground, and had their throats gruesomely bitten through. The assailants then descended upon the fallen, ripping at their flesh with bare hands and greedily shoving the torn pieces into their mouths. Others simply sank their teeth in, feasting directly on their victims.

Lin Ya could make out the faces of those closest to the hotel. Their eyes were a deep, blood-red, nearly devoid of pupils, radiating an unending madness and an intense hunger to consume. Their complexions were ghastly pale with a sickly green tinge, fangs protruding from their mouths, and their fingers had grown into long, sharp claws.

Their bodies were riddled with wounds that oozed not blood, but a dark, crimson fluid that clung to their skin rather than flowing freely.

Lin Ya, overcome with nausea, quickly drew the curtains and turned away, clutching her chest as she succumbed to violent retching.

Next door, Lin Chen, attuned to his sister's every action through his extrasensory perception, gazed on with a profound look. "Yaya, although I could shield you from all this suffering and offer you a life of ease in my world, I cannot," he thought. "You must face reality, feel the world's drastic changes, and endure all that comes with it."

"I will toughen you up, train you relentlessly until you're a capable survivor of this apocalypse. Only then will I allow you the comforts of a princess."

Despite being overly protective, Lin Chen, a ten-year veteran of the apocalypse, understood what was truly best for his loved ones in this harsh new world.

Thus, he resolved to harden his heart for the time being, to hasten Lin Ya's psychological transformation and her adaptation to the post-apocalyptic world. Only once Lin Ya proved herself as a competent survivor would he begin to ease his worries about her safety.

Suddenly, "Bang, bang, bang!" Lin Ya snapped back to reality, remembering her brother was nearby. She dashed to Lin Chen's door and began pounding urgently.

"Yaya, what's the matter? Why not get some more rest?"

"Bro, there are so many monsters outside. It's terrifying!"

"Don't worry, Yaya, I've got you."

Embraced by the warmth of her brother, Lin Ya's fear subsided, replaced by a surge of questions.

"Brother, did you have any idea this was going to happen? You've been acting odd since the day before yesterday. And last night, you seemed to know the apocalypse was imminent."

"Well, now that we're here, it's time you knew a few things."

Forgetting the peril outside, Lin Ya's eyes shone with anticipation as she gazed at Lin Chen, eager for answers.

"Yaya, on the 19th, I broke up with Qiao Yilan. I got drunk that night and had a dream about the apocalypse. I was skeptical at first, but when I woke up, I discovered I had water-based ESP, like this..."

Lin Chen demonstrated by producing a stream of First Level Energy Water from his fingertips.

"I can do more than just create water; I can infuse it with energy from within me. This energized water is incredibly beneficial, enhancing human health and even offering a 'marrow-cleansing' effect like something out of a fantasy novel. That's why I gave you a cup to drink yesterday. The more energy I use, the more exhausted I become, needing a good rest to recharge."

"Ah, you gave me so much. Does that hurt you? Why would you do that, bro?"

"It's okay, Yaya. I'd give you the best of everything if I could. Plus, I can always recover by resting or eating energy-rich foods."

"Okay, go on."

"Once ESP became a reality, I believed the dream's apocalypse was bound to happen, so I started preparing. I took out a high-interest loan, sent 800,000 yuan to our parents, and convinced them to stockpile supplies and stay indoors today. You know the rest from yesterday. The divine light we saw last night was the evolutionary opportunity from my dream. The more divine light absorbed, the greater the chance of developing a superpower."

Lin Ya's voice trembled with a hint of excitement, "Brother, do I appear in your dreams? What becomes of me? And our parents—how are they?"

Memories of Yaya and their parents' fate in his past life flooded Lin Chen's mind, his eyes reddening involuntarily as he fell into a pained silence.
