C2 Rebirth Karma!

In Dormitory 4014, Lin Chen realized that he indeed had a second chance at life. His mind was abuzz, and his emotions were in turmoil as a flood of feelings overwhelmed him.

His usual detachment swiftly brought him back to a state of calm, prompting him to ponder the reason behind his rebirth. Although he had always been apathetic, now that the past tragedies had yet to occur, it was crucial to clarify this anomaly to ensure a smoother path ahead.

He had an inkling that his rebirth was far from simple. Understanding this mystery would undoubtedly benefit his future journey.

Lin Chen's memory drifted back to the moments before his death in his previous life, fixating on the peculiar seed that had been absorbing the blood from his heart. He had a hunch that this seed was the catalyst for his rebirth.

What was this seed? How could it possess such immense power to reverse time and space, sending him back to the past? Where did it originate, and who owned it?

Buzz!

In a daze, Lin Chen suddenly found himself in an otherworldly setting.

A verdant grassland stretched out before him, with a forest in the distance and majestic mountains beyond. To the left, the grassland continued until it met a shroud of mist. To the right, a tranquil sea lay in the distance, and turning around, he saw more sea ending in the same enigmatic fog.

A small river emerged from the mist to his left, bisecting the grassland.

The river flowed silently across the plains, gently feeding into the sea on the right.

A few meters ahead, there was a small, two-meter-square pond, about two to three meters deep, with water so clear the bottom was visible. At the center of the pond, a fist-sized spring bubbled up water, yet mysteriously, the pond's level remained unchanged.

A fireball, as large as the sun, hung in the sky, casting a warm glow over this fantastical realm.

"Where am I? Have I traveled through time again?"

Lin Chen's face was a picture of confusion as he gazed at the bizarre surroundings, his heart racing with urgency: Oh God, are you toying with me? I've only just returned to the past, I haven't even had the chance to save my parents and Yaya, and now you've whisked me away to this place?

Suddenly, a sharp pain throbbed in his head as a flood of information poured into Lin Chen's mind.

It took Lin Chen a moment to sift through the barrage of new information, but he eventually pieced together the whole story.

His rebirth, it seemed, was the work of that extraordinary seed.

The seed's true identity was the Chaos Seed, also referred to as the Universe Seed.

Within the infinite expanse of chaos, innumerable universes existed.

Some of these universes were cultivated by sentient beings, known as 'Creatures' Universes.' Others emerged naturally from Chaos, shaped by the Great Dao Laws, and were called 'Chaos Universes.'

Our Earth, for instance, belonged to the category of Chaos Universes.

A Chaos Universe began as a Chaos Seed, nurtured by the Great Dao Laws. Over eons of evolution in the chaotic void, it would eventually transform into a Chaos Universe.

Seeds that failed in their evolution would revert to their original form, lying in wait for a sentient being to claim them and co-evolve a universe.

Thus, a failed Chaos Seed represented an unparalleled opportunity for cultivating sentient beings.

This particular seed was one such failed Chaos Seed that had landed in Earth's universe billions of years ago. Regrettably, those who recognized its potential never encountered it, and those who did possess it remained ignorant of its true value and how to harness it.

Its method of choosing a master was quite unique, requiring the heart's blood and the entire soul of a sentient being.

In his past life, Lin Chen's death coincided with the shedding of his heart's blood, and his soul happened to witness the seed's blood absorption. As his life ebbed and his soul departed, it naturally merged with the seed, completing the bond with the Chaos Seed.

Sensing Lin Chen's intense bitterness and regret, the seed expended its accumulated Chaos Origin energy to reverse the universe's time-space continuum where Earth resided, sending Lin Chen back to the days before the apocalypse.

However, the seed's Chaos Origin energy was finite, and it could only turn back time to two days before Earth's demise. Consequently, its status was downgraded from Universe Seed to World Seed.

Having sacrificed everything, the seed could now only wait, hoping that Lin Chen would ascend to the pinnacle of this universe in the future, giving it a chance to restore its original glory.

The seed was now intricately bound to Lin Chen's soul, residing within the very essence of his being.

One could say that the seed and the small world were one and the same; the small world was the seed.

As the master of this microcosm, Lin Chen had the freedom to enter and utilize it at will.

Within this realm, Lin Chen wielded godlike powers, manipulating everything with mere thought. He could also draw inanimate objects from the outside world into this space, provided that he could either physically control them or his mental prowess could envelop them entirely.

To incorporate a living being, however, required that the creature not resist, or that its mental strength and life force field were no more than half as potent as Lin Chen's.

The saliva pond was known as the 'Source of the World,' renowned for its formidable properties. Currently, its primary function was to transmute all types of energy into a pure form that was readily absorbed and channeled back to the host.

Though the small world seemed vast, it actually spanned a mere 100 square kilometers, with the grasslands covering roughly 30 square kilometers. The mist at its periphery served as a spatial barrier.

Moreover, time within this small world progressed at a rate ten times faster than in Lin Chen's primary world. To put it simply, ten days here equated to just one day outside. Lin Chen had the ability to either hasten or decelerate time within localized areas of this world, as long as he was willing to expend the necessary energy. This energy could be drawn from external sources or from the small world's innate reserves. However, using the latter to adjust time would inevitably lead to a contraction of the small world's spatial dimensions.

Lin Chen's cultivation practices mirrored this principle; cultivating without investing energy would also result in the diminishment of space.

The future expansion and evolution of this world hinged on the amount of energy Lin Chen could harvest from the external environment and the advancement of his own cultivation level.

Having organized these insights, Lin Chen experienced an epiphany.

He had always known that rebirth couldn't be that simple!

His rebirth had effectively consumed a universe's origin, reversing the fabric of time and space for the entire cosmos! It reversed the timeline for all living beings!

Throughout this process, no other beings retained memories of the future. Only he, as the keeper of the Chaos Seed, preserved the memories of what was yet to come.

Certainly, from this moment forward, those memories can only serve as a potential reference. The universe's trajectory is set to diverge onto a new path.

Lin Chen can confidently assure you that his rebirth is justified and scientifically grounded!

He can boast that his rebirth is the epitome of perfection! His return to the past wasn't just a simple do-over; it was a complete reversal of the universe's time and space!

Others might find themselves reborn in a parallel universe, but what good does that do? The tragedies of the original universe remain unchanged, don't they? Success in a parallel universe is nothing more than solitary laughter and self-soothing.

With clarity came an overwhelming joy for Lin Chen.

He realized his future was no longer confined to Earth!

He would take his family and friends to ascend to endless heights!

Lin Chen's character, forged through harrowing experiences, soon steadied him into a state of calm.

Great buildings rise from the ground up. His immediate concern was to shepherd his loved ones through the impending doom.

He was convinced that whatever secrets the calamity concealed, he would unravel them and deliver a profound lesson to its architect.

Despite the looming disaster outside, Lin Chen wasn't pressed for time. Here, time moved tenfold faster than in the outside world, giving him the luxury to carefully plan his future and conduct experimental actions in this world.

With a focused gaze and a mere thought, the earth before him shifted, quickly giving rise to a two-story villa of distinctive design.

The 'Source of the World' was situated before the villa.

Lin Chen entered the storage room, transforming it into a virtual space. This space had the ability to infinitely compress items upon storage, conserving room. It was an extraordinary spatial conversion, projecting the expanse of this mini-universe into the confines of the storage room.

This meant that the storage room could indefinitely hold items, provided its capacity didn't surpass the total volume of the mini-universe.

This was just one of the clever tricks the Chaos Seed had shared with Lin Chen.

He went on to establish planting and production zones, in anticipation of the looming apocalypse.

In that era, the land would be ravaged by viruses, making it impossible for normal crops to thrive and bringing agricultural and industrial production to a near halt. These zones would then become invaluable.

He fenced off several areas, readying them for livestock breeding.

Once finished, Lin Chen felt a surge of vitality, followed by weariness.

It appeared that these tasks had drained his mental energy. Nonetheless, they were well worth the effort.

Lin Chen then devoted an hour to revisiting the experiences of his past decade and crafted a strategic action plan.

Finally, Lin Chen commenced his cultivation practice.

In the main world, the cosmic energy wouldn't begin to replenish until dawn the following day, at which point cultivation techniques would take effect. However, upon entering this minor world, Lin Chen immediately sensed an abundance of energy.

Though cultivating here meant tapping into the small world's lifeblood, Lin Chen saw no harm in using just a bit to test its effects.

In his past life, the finest cultivation technique he had acquired was the 'Nine Transformation Qi Refining Technique,' which was only considered Middle Grade. He had found it in a mid-sized ruin after eight grueling years of the apocalypse.

As Lin Chen's mental energy whirled into motion, the cultivation technique activated, channeling the plentiful energy into his body.

After one cycle of the technique, Lin Chen's body jolted as if he had shed a burdensome weight. He felt remarkably lighter, and his strength seemed to have significantly increased.

Simultaneously, he felt an unexplainable harmony with the surrounding space.

The next moment, he entered a state of inner vision!

Within this state, he 'saw' a tiny gray vortex materialize in his dantian, while strands of white mist formed in his mind.

"This... This... Could this gray vortex be the manifestation of the space element? And the white mist in my mind, the manifestation of my mental energy? What's happening? After my rebirth, have I gained space and mental energy powers, becoming a 'Heaven Awakened'?"

In his previous life, those who gained Extrasensory Perception before the Law of God's light were known as 'Heaven Awakened.' Those who gained it within the light were 'Innate Evolvers,' and those who gained it afterward were 'Acquired Evolvers.'

Statistically, the occurrence of Heaven Awakened individuals was about one in a hundred million, Innate Evolvers one in ten thousand, and Acquired Evolvers one in a thousand.

Certainly, the figures I've mentioned reflect a general proportion, but in certain groups, this ratio can increase two to threefold. Take, for instance, university students and military personnel—individuals who are either intellectually brilliant and mentally strong, or physically robust and extraordinarily energetic. Within these circles, an Acquired Evolver might emerge from every two to three hundred people.

When it comes to those with body-strengthening mutations, their prevalence is notably higher.

These Awakening Ratio statistics are indicative of one's potential for cultivation and the speed at which they can progress.

In his past life, Lin Chen was merely a Postnatal Evolver.

Now, he has become an Awakened!

Is this a boon from the Chaos Seed, or is it the fortune of someone reborn?
