C3 The Pie Almost Choked Him to Death!

In the Seeds World, Lin Chen was astonished to discover he possessed both spatial and psychic abilities.

After some contemplation, Lin Chen resolved to test these abilities back in the main world.

With a flicker, he materialized in his dorm room, back in reality.

Immediately, Lin Chen sensed a difference.

His awareness of his surroundings was heightened to the point where, even with his eyes closed, he could perceive objects within a two to three-meter radius with crystal clarity.

Concentrating further, he could even discern what was happening beyond the dorm door.

Narrowing his focus, the corridor's entrance, some seven or eight meters away, seemed almost visible to his mind's eye.

Simultaneously, Lin Chen realized he could precisely gauge the space and distances around him.

The window and the dorm door were a little over five meters apart. Estimating the distance, he felt confident he could step across it in one stride.

As the notion of 'stepping across' took hold, Lin Chen's vision blurred, and in an instant, he found himself at the door, nearly bumping his nose against it.

"This... This is teleportation!"

Joy surged through Lin Chen's heart, nearly overwhelming him. He pondered, "If I can traverse space, can I pass through the door?"

In the blink of an eye, Lin Chen moved and reappeared in the hallway, the dorm door remaining firmly shut.

"Good heavens, I can actually bypass physical barriers!"

At that moment, Lin Chen felt an intense weariness.

Inspecting his dantian, he noticed the grey cyclone within had significantly diminished.

"It seems this power is still quite fragile; I must use it sparingly."

"Regardless, for whatever reason, I now wield spatial and psychic powers—I am a Heaven Awakened. The potential applications of these abilities await further exploration. But first, there's one more thing to test."

He unlocked the door, stepped inside his room, and shut it behind him.

Lin Chen picked up his teacup and, with a mere thought, drew forth a small amount of water from the World's Source. Gazing into the cup, he mused, "Let's see the true extent of this materialized energy's effect."

With that, he lifted the cup to his lips and downed it in one swift motion.

*Boom!*

The moment the water from the World's Source hit his stomach, it was as if a fierce blaze erupted within him, sending a scorching wave of heat coursing through his body.

"Ah... it hurts so much!"

Lin Chen felt as though he was ablaze, with a searing pain tearing through every part of his body.

In that critical moment, the seed transmitted a message: Master, quickly enter my world!

Without a second thought, Lin Chen plunged into the Seeds World.

"Master, quickly circulate the Qi Method to refine the energy!" urged the seed.

Biting back the pain, Lin Chen sat down cross-legged and began the Nine Transformation Qi Refining Technique.

Energy roared within him, a tumultuous surge. The Qi Refining Technique managed to refine only a fraction of it. His body was under relentless assault, teetering on the brink of total collapse!

Blood seeped from his pores, a relentless release of energy.

"Suppress!" The seed sent out a pulse, forcefully stabilizing Lin Chen's body and locking the energy within.

Consequently, Lin Chen's meridians and flesh were repeatedly torn and then reshaped by the energy. He endured an agony beyond words, as if his very soul were fracturing.

On the verge of succumbing to the pain and nearly ready to surrender, the clear images of Yaya and his parents flashed before his eyes.

"Ah... I can't give up. I refuse to give up. In this life, I will never let you leave me!"

With newfound courage, Lin Chen persevered.

His physical strength grew, his energy reserves swelled, and his will fortified...

It felt like eons had passed before Lin Chen could once again sense his body, the flow of energy within, and his resilient will...

Once all the energy was refined, the seed lifted its suppression on Lin Chen's body.

Exhausted, Lin Chen opened his eyes and introspected. His physical strength had increased at least tenfold, now on par with a Second Level Mutant. Both of his Extrasensory Perception abilities had advanced, reaching the Middle Rank of the First Level.

Gazing at the foul-smelling black crust of dried blood on his skin, Lin Chen asked nonchalantly, "Seed, how much time has passed?"

"Master, fifteen hours have elapsed in the Seeds World, and one and a half hours in the external world."

"Hmm, not too long then. There's still time."

"Master, you truly are remarkable. Your training this time has led to significant improvement. However, you mustn't be so reckless in the future. You hastily drank from the Origin Water before I could even intervene. If your soul had collapsed, I wouldn't have been able to save you. Please, don't act so carelessly again."

"Yes, there won't be a next time," Lin Chen replied, still shaken by the experience.

He hadn't anticipated the overwhelming energy contained in the Origin Water.

He had narrowly cheated death this time; he might not be so fortunate if there were a next time.

The seed's voice, tinged with pain, reached him, "Master, the energy you've used up has shrunk the space by at least half a square kilometer. You must replenish it quickly."

Lin Chen was startled, "How can the pond be so large, yet consume such a vast amount of energy for just half a cup?"

"Master, most of the energy in the pond sustains the world's foundational framework. Only a small amount supports the expansion of space."

"Understood. I'll make it a priority to replenish it," Lin Chen assured.

"Thank you, Master!" The seed was easily appeased, satisfied with a mere promise.

Back in the main world, Lin Chen dragged his weary body to bathe, cleansing himself of the impurities from the Purification. Afterwards, he indulged in a feast of dormitory snacks, polishing off four buckets of instant noodles to regain his strength.

He glanced at the clock; it was already eleven in the morning.

Lin Chen quickly assessed his situation.

"There are only thirty-seven hours left until the apocalypse. If I buy plane tickets for Yaya and myself to Seamoor's ancient capital now, by the time I convince Yaya and we reach the airport, we won't depart until evening. The ancient capital is a long way from the mountainous region of my hometown, and with the anomalies expected tomorrow, there's a high chance of traffic disruptions or blockages."

"If I attempt to take Yaya home, there's a ninety-five percent chance we'll be trapped en route!"

"From what I recall of my past life, my village was sparsely populated, and my parents only encountered issues in the second year of the apocalypse. If I can make it back within six months, the likelihood of them running into trouble is less than three percent."

"My hometown lacks resources and has a sparse population; it's unlikely I'll ever make a name for myself there."

"So, I'll draw on the memories of my past life and make my mark in this city. I'll begin my new legendary life right here in this world-class metropolis!"

"With my current abilities, I should be safe for the next month or two, as long as I don't foolishly rush into a massive horde of zombies."

"I have to admit, acquiring these abilities was a stroke of luck. I'll need to be more thoughtful about my actions in the future. If I hadn't persevered earlier, I would have become the biggest joke of a reborn individual in history, ironically suffocated by the very gift of rebirth!"
