C12 A Friend Came.

Another bone-cracking sound echoed through the air. The men who had attacked her let out terrified screams, recoiling in pain and stumbling backward.

The battlefield was in disarray. More than half of the assailants lay defeated. The remaining few stared at Muh Jingyan with panic etched on their faces, too scared to advance and instead inching back.

Muh Jingyan's face was a mask of impassivity. Her icy, detached gaze brimmed with lethal intent, striking fear into the hearts of those who met her eyes.

"Please, don't kill us. We'll never do it again!" they pleaded, watching Muh Jingyan close in on them, their voices quivering with dread.

"What did you use to beat her?" Muh Jingyan's voice was frosty as she gestured toward the unconscious Leng Qianqian.

The men pointed to their hands, shouting back in terror.

"And?"

"Our feet. It wasn't intentional, we swear. Please, have mercy!"

The men continued to grovel, terrified of suffering the same fate as their comrades at the hands of Muh Jingyan.

They had underestimated her, thinking she would be easy to handle and that the money would be easy to earn. Now, they realized too late that she was a force to be reckoned with, a veritable demon in their midst, and fear gripped them.

"I might let you go. Who sent you after me? I'll pay double to have you do the same to her," Muh Jingyan proposed, her eyebrows arching coldly.

The men wavered, uncertain whether to accept her offer.

"Or would you prefer to end up with broken limbs like your friends?" she added, her voice sharp with threat.

Predictably, their faces blanched, and they quickly nodded in agreement. "We accept!"

"Call me once it's done. I'll pay you. But if you even think of crossing me, I'll make you wish you hadn't," Muh Jingyan warned, her tone icy with menace.

"Yes, we'll get it done right!" they assured her, nodding fervently, their fear of Muh Jingyan palpable.

Satisfied with their response, Muh Jingyan turned and lifted Leng Qianqian onto her back. Given Leng Qianqian's condition, returning to school was out of the question, so Muh Jingyan had no choice but to take her to the hospital.

After admitting Leng Qianqian into the emergency room, Muh Jingyan sat outside, her brow furrowed, a chill emanating from her.

Her thoughts turned to Qianqian, who had been so gravely injured on her behalf, and a pang of distress filled her. Qianqian's face bore severe wounds and several bloody gashes. Muh Jingyan couldn't help but wonder if her friend's face would be permanently marred.

With a heavy heart, Muh Jingyan dialed a familiar number.

The phone was answered after two rings by an impatient voice, "Who's this?"

Muh Jingyan paused before responding, "It's me, Robert."

At the sound of her voice, the impatience on the other end transformed into elation.

"You finally called us. You haven't reached out in years, and now you call out of the blue. You gave me quite the scare. Damn it, who's grabbing my phone?"

Robert's shout was followed by a cacophony of familiar voices on the other end.

A wave of warmth washed over Muh Jingyan. Despite three years of silence, these people remained her dearest allies.

"Mumu, where are you? You vanished for three years. Were you staging a rebellion? Give me your address, I'll come to you right away, ready to embrace you!" came an urgent and charming voice, laced with excitement.

"Shaoqing, I'm in Z Country. My friend got hurt because of me, so I need Robert to come here," Muh Jingyan replied, not wanting to delve into the reasons for her disappearance and spare her friends any worry.

"Are you badly hurt? Send me your exact location, and I'll bring him straight to you," Ouyang Shaoqing insisted, his concern evident.

"Alright, I'm waiting. Make it quick!" Muh Jingyan ended the call, her gaze lingering on the lit emergency room, allowing herself a moment of relief.

As long as Robert arrived, Qianqian would be safe.

Memories of her friends, unseen for years, filled Muh Jingyan with longing, softening her usually stoic expression.

Ouyang Shaoqing and Robert arrived swiftly, reaching the hospital by the following morning.

Upon seeing each other after three long years, Ouyang Shaoqing enveloped Muh Jingyan in a warm embrace, his face alight with joy.

"At last, we've found you. We've scoured the earth these past three years. Had we not trusted in your strength, we might have feared the worst!"

Muh Jingyan faced Ouyang Shaoqing and Robert with a tinge of remorse. "The truth is, I did encounter trouble. I lost my memory for three years and only regained it after an accident a couple of days ago. That's why I reached out to you."

"Amnesia? How could that be? Who would dare harm you? I'll flay them alive!"

Upon hearing that Muh Jingyan had suffered an accident and lost her memories for the past three years, Ouyang Shaoqing's face contorted with rage. Robert, with a look of concern etched on his face, stepped forward to check Jingyan's pulse.

Robert was a globally acclaimed surgeon, holding significant authority in the medical community. "Your body has sustained considerable damage and requires recuperation. I can't diagnose any other conditions at the moment, but when you get a chance, take a trip back to Italy. I'll give you a thorough examination. I'm concerned you may have developed some complications," Robert advised as he released Jingyan's wrist.

"First, could you please attend to my friend? His injuries aren't critical, but she has some rather large wounds on her face. Scarring is inevitable, even after healing. I trust no other doctor, only you. Please, take good care of her."

"I was under the impression that I was summoned for a significant issue! Turns out it's a minor one," Robert remarked, his dissatisfaction apparent. As a surgeon of international repute, being asked to perform a cosmetic procedure seemed beneath him and was somewhat embarrassing.

"She means a lot to me. During the three years of my amnesia, she was incredibly supportive, and now she's been gravely injured on my behalf. You understand why this is important to me," Jingyan said, giving Robert a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

"Fine, in light of her saving your life, I'll ensure she looks even more beautiful than before!" With that, Robert made his way into Leng Qianqian's hospital room.

"Qianqian, meet my friend Robert. He's a world-famous surgical expert. He'll be taking care of your injuries from now on," Jingyan introduced, then added, "And this is my good friend, Ouyang Shaoqing!"
